I actually have to have a mini-rant about something. Has there been any hints whatsoever that we'll learn what happened to the Nephalem after the events of Diablo 3? Because there was that ending cinematic after killing Malthael. Plus Prime Diablo being released when we killed Diablo and all that. The Nephalem was a hero, but they had a mortal heart that could be tempted to corruption, etcetera. Tyrael straight up said, "Will [the Nephalem] have the strength to resist, or will [the Nephalem] be our doom?" Speaking of Tyrael... is he even in this game? Where the heck did he go? Has it been so long he just died? Will they explain any of this?

The cinematic where Lorath talks to a grave and call them "old friend" could very well be the old nephalem. Afaik that's still a mystery of who it is, there's speculate it could be Tyrael as well. So it kinda depends on how important that cinematic is in the grand scheme of the story or if it's just world building. If it has great importance to the story I think it makes more sense for it to be Tyrael, if he references the grave and whoever lies there as an old friend who fought against hell it could be the nephalem. Don't think he would call Tyrael an old friend since he was more of a mentor or leader / teacher to him, while the nephalem became more of a friend/ally during the events of RoS.
