    • Developers’ notes: For one month, the Prismatic Bauble's cooldown has been reduced and can be purchased from Jepetto Joybuzz and his Clockwork Assistant in The Wonderworks in Dalaran, floating above the Broken Isles. The Wonderworks can be found down the steps from the Violet Citadel and across the street from Simply Enchanting. Be warned! This very expensive cosmetic item will only have a reduced cooldown and be available from these sources for a month before returning to its original cooldown and being exclusively sold by Dalaran's legendary and elusive Mad Merchant.

Quests
  • Researchers Under Fire
    • Developers’ notes: Players were being delayed by a lack of Altar Stones which we are addressing. Even with more Altar Stones the timer is still super tight. We think another 30 seconds will allow groups to perfect their runs and be more in line with the Titan version once players become more familiar.
    • Added more spawns of Altar Stones as well as made them spawn quicker.
    • The Sundered Flame Forces are being delayed giving players an extra 30 seconds to complete the Investigation of the Djaradin Ruins.

Wrath of the Lich King Classic
  • Commendation of Bravery is again available from Veteran Arena vendors: Argex Irongut in Gadgetzan, Kezzik the Striker in Area 52, and Nargle Lashcord in Dalaran.

The only time I've experienced the boulder wall blocking the way(and incidentally, you can briefly see the ohnaran plains behind it before it pops in), was right after Tuesday restarts and EVERYBODY was logging in on my high-pop server. I'm running a potato. Most times the transition is seamless. I think it's most likely a server load issue.

I'd just prefer a teleport to a long tunnel.

Lol every time I go in the damn tunnel I almost run into a rock wall and get spammed with error messages about how I can't go there before it suddenly disappears... hardly seamless.

Exactly my experience, except I splat directly into the rock wall and lose all my momentum waiting for the rocks to disappear. I'd rather have a load screen. It's hilarious how proud they are of themselves for something that doesn't even work.

I don't have that issue and my PC isn't the newest. Maybe it's an addon?

This will no doubt be due to latency more than anything else. I have 100ms to the world server due to me playing the US servers in the UK and see the boulder but generally before I get there that disappears. I do generally see people fly into the wall before that turn though that always makes me laugh a little.

Good time to pick up the best toy in the game!

The temporary nerf to the cooldown is weird, but whatever, at least now you don't have to camp the mad merchant to get it. They should just leave the CD short and make a cost reduction this month or something for people who want it for Pride.

I doubt they'll reduce the cost because it represents one of the few legitimate gold sinks still left in the game. I wouldn't mind if they did though; not even for pride, it's just a cool ass toy.

I dunno, it was a big gold sink in Legion, but Legion added a lot of those (including other stuff from the Mad Merchant) and subsequent expansions added even more. I don't think it's a very significant one now (both in terms of amount or compared to all the other options out there), and considering the effort required normally to get it, Blizzard can't honestly expect it to take that much money out of the economy. Besides that, most of us who really wanted the toy already bought it! A temporary sale for people who didn't care enough before but want it for Pride seems reasonable.

In any case, that's clearly not the route they went with and instead we get a weird one minute reduction on the cooldown for one month only. I mean, I'll take it, but it just seems like a kinda random choice if their goal was to give a little treat this month for folks celebrating.

If you have issues with the tunnel not loading properly that is caused by poor communication with the server, aka latency and server instability, and not caused by your own computer.

Depending on where you live this can be fixed with a more stable connection.

This is actually a huge thing.
Blizz can use this in so many places with seamless changes between places, imagine every mountain in azeroth getting an underground zone beneath it, like a full explorable blackrock depths/mountain/molten core or subteranian alterac or maraudon or subterainian mulgore.

Imagine an actual explorable deeprun tram.

Perhaps even a zone in the sky above an existing zone, like the light invades and creates a heaven above the earth and you can fly between the zones.

This opens so many possibilities for integration with the old world and its really exciting to imagine where it could go. A big one being azjol nerub.

Would be fantastic to not have to take portals everywhere.

The seemless transitions between zones happen now? I ride from Westfall to Ellwynn there is no loading screen?

Or at least a flight path to take me to another one if they really think they need to show off a tunnel.

It's not the same. The Zaralek Caverns is not beneath the Dragon Isles at all. It actually in a completely different location. You are just being seamlessly transported there without noticing.
It's not the same as just travelling to the zone next to it as those are physically next to eachother on the map. The Zaralek Caverns are not.

What this tech allows, is to utilise the maps better by making extra space usable even if they are not actually in the same location. Think of it as a pocket dimension with seamless transition.
This helps a lot with managing strain on the servers with many players utilising the zones and loading of assets, a huge issue Wotlk Dalaran caused on Crystalsong Forest. It was often unplayable because of the amount of players in Dalaran, even if Dalaran was high above it. This was the reason why Dalaran was placed outside the Broken Isles in Legion and not above the continent like in Wotlk.
Now, they can do this and more without worrying about it causing strain on servers and causing lag and such.

That's x,y axis and not a big deal, zaralek is on the z axis and is beneath dragon Isles but a seperated zone. This means z axis zones are possible which is new, you can have zones above or beneath existing zones with their own maps and coordinates without needing loading screens or server issues.
An influx in one zone won't break the other zone right below or above it, this means more content in the same place

No, players are not being seamlessly teleported to somewhere else like in Portal. Zalarek cavern is indeed right where it appears to be. The only difference is that when you are inside Zalarek Caverns, most of the Dragon Isles stuff (trees, buildings, rocks, etc) above is not being rendered by your computer. WoW already does this with the Caverns of Time in Kalimdor. On the 10.1 PTR, while inside Zalarek, you can use a shaman's Farsight to see Zalarek's ceiling clipping through the surface terrain of the Ohn'ahran Plains (https://i.imgur.com/OtTseO3.png). You normally wouldn't see this while flying outside over the Dragon Isles, because Zalarek would be turned off. Blizzard can separate where the player icons show up on the minimap (Zalarek Caverns minimap appearing divorced from the rest of the Dragon Isles) from the actual ingame space that the player inhabits (Zalarek is directly underneath the Dragon Isles).

That literally contradicts what the Devs said when they explained the tech before the release of the patch.
They said that Zaralek Caverns are placed not underneath, but to the side of Dragon Isles.

I quote: "The new tech is a very fancy zone transfer, and clever players will notice that the Zaralek Caverns aren't directly under the Dragon Isles but off to the side, but you're moving to a map off the side."
