WoW Remix Tuning and Adjustments - May 20

We’re making a number of changes to address issues players have been reporting with scaling and improve the overall Remix experience by improving the viability of all content for earning additional experience, bronze, and gear. The following updates have already been made to all realms via hotfix:

  • Enemy power scaling, particularly in group content, has been adjusted to be less aggressive. This is particularly applicable in the player level 40 - 70 range, before players have been able to power up their cloak, upgrade their gems, and increase their item level.
  • Gear drop rates have been improved from world rares, rare elites, and quests. This will help players who have had their item levels fall behind as leveling speed increases, especially at higher levels when cloak bonus experience is powered up.
    • This will also increase player Bronze and appearance acquisition by increasing the number of items to place into the Unraveling Sands for additional Bronze.
  • The first time bonus for queueing each LFR wing will grant a Thread of Experience in addition to the existing Lesser Bronze Cache.
    • This should improve LFR as a viable choice for leveling main characters and alts, without players feeling like they need to grind the same LFR wing repeatedly.
  • We have added bonus experience to each boss in normal dungeons and scenarios so they are a viable alternative to questing. Bonus experience has also been adding to the last boss of Heroic Scenarios. Heroic dungeon bosses will continue to drop bonus experience.
  • We’ve increased the number of prismatic gems dropped from bosses in normal and heroic scenarios and dungeons.
    • The increased stamina offered by Legendary Prismatic gems boosts player survivability considerably.
  • We have increased the Bronze granted from all qualities of Bronze Caches by 25%.
    • These caches are available from a wide variety of sources, both solo and group. This includes the Minor Bronze Cache, Lesser Bronze Cache, Bronze Cache, and Greater Bronze Cache.

There are more hotfixes on the way, and as always, we’ll detail all of them in our next hotfixes update.

The thing is, if you had a group of 5 QA employees play the game for a week during work hours, all these issues would be found ahead of time.

Not enough. After leveling via quests only and trying to do LFD - I soak 10x more damage, than my 11lvl party members.

Standard Blizzard mistake. Balance around hardcores, who grind lots of stats even while leveling => overnerf casuals, who do leveling only.

Typical brain-dead Blizzard hater, never happy no matter how much effort they put into something. How dare they try something new and potentially fun for folks, and then listen to player feedback and make changes within a few days. How awful of them. Get a life man.

Changes are already live and helped a ton. Lvl 70 players are out dpsing lvl 15 players, so I would say what they did is working a bit better than it did before.

What Blizzard still haven't learned even after 20 years of development - is that casuals don't have enough patience to overcome long struggling period. They quit long before doing it. I can't even complete scenarios. Each mobs deals 50% of my HP damage. Bosses aren't killable. LFD has famous 20m queues. I just f**king hate games, where I have to rely on other players. Devs make them mandatory requirement, but are way too stubborn to remove it, despite of obvious fact, that they can't provide enough of them and it's their fault. As soon, as I'll get to level 70 - I don't know, what to do next. Just delete this character and return to ZM most likely.

Guy thinks killing mobs is exploiting so what do you expect.

Cool. So stop fucking playing and wait a few days for them to fix it. It's bugged, we've known that for days. And have told you for days. So if it bothers you this insanely much, stop doing it and wait for it to be fixed.

You... may have chosen poorly then, playing an MMO.

Have you considered just playing something else, instead of complaining that THE showcase genre for cooperate multiplayer doesn't somehow fully accommodate people who aren't interested in relying on other players?

What do you mean, I see no problem here. /see_no_evil

For those who don't know, it pays to exploit early and often. Person took advantage of the frog farming on Timeless Isle before it was nerfed.

Yikes, imagine not knowing mmo's are solo games in 2024 with some added coop.

Since now please stop asking me, why I haven't bought DF and still play SL. I just hate to be in such situation. And I just hate to be angry about it and kill my brain cells as result. Blizzard are bad at understanding casual players and tuning game for them. They still tune game for players, who skip almost all content and jump straight to hardcore one. I'm almost level 70 and game is tuned terribly now. I deal lots of damage to normal mobs, but they also deal lots of damage to me, like if I wouldn't have 2700 stamina. I don't have any further plan. What to do after 70 in order to get enough stats to make game comfortable? Scenarios? Couldn't complete them. When I fight against boss - it's more or less killable. But due to broken dmg scaling once he spawns 1-2 adds - they simply one-shot me. Do LFD or LFR? Queues are insane, as always. Plus lack of stats make me soak lots of dmg in comparison to other party members. I feel like noob blood DK tank, who has his HP jumping to 0 and back every 2 seconds. What else can I do? Level alts? That would have exactly the same problem.

Explain to me what the worse takeaway is here: you attempting "sarcasm" or doubling-down on this ridiculous notion

You willingly offer up this information every single time you dogpile a thread with your out-of-touch expectations and reminders as to why none of your criticisms of game design should be actually considered.

Putting aside the thought that Blizzard chooses not to design a game oriented to somebody who can play for 1 hour every week, I think you need to reconsider how much you actually do in-game. You have championed Blizzard removing every core aspect of playing World of Warcraft -- including removing combat against NPC's -- because it is too difficult for a "casual player" wearing questing greens at max level unable to kill max level NPC's.

Look at my post history, I defend Blizzard far more than most people - when they deserve it

In this case, they deserve the opposite

It's amusing you call me braindead when literally none of my points have anything to do with what you're saying - perhaps think before you post next time

I quite literally said to you, not everyone who killed frogs should be rolled back, only those who did it for 10+ hours and can now one shot mythic raid bosses, but that would actually be honest of you, which we know that's not what you are

For the traumatic experience and destruction of wildlife, I think Blizzard should compensate everyone with half a million bronze (I am joking...or not?)

Thing is, just finding issues isn't enough. More likely than not, these issues were flagged internally, but the powers that be decided that keeping to the release schedule was more important than fixing them.
