When: July 30 - August 26
Where: Dalaran (hub), Dragonblight, Dustwallow Marsh, and Searing Gorge
Currency: Residual Memories - Half forgotten memories can be glimpsed in the light playing across this iridescent powder.

Players with and without The War Within™ will be able to take part in this event for its duration.

Confronting Memories

Players who have reached level 70 will receive a quest pushed to them which will direct them to visit Dalaran to start.

The event occurs in four stages and cycles between three zones. Portals in Dalaran will be available to take you directly to the event staging area and a return portal is available in each of the event zones so that players can quickly return to Dalaran and head into the next occurrence of the event. When the event is active in a zone, the portal will have an additional golden glow to indicate that it is active.

  • During the first week of the event, zones will cycle every 90 minutes.
  • During the second week of the event, zones will cycle every 60 minutes.
  • During the third and fourth weeks of the event, zones will cycle every 30 minutes.

Stage 1

During the first stage of the event, players will need to defeat the Congealed Memories that will appear in the zone and the memories around it.

Stage 2

Defeat the radiant echoes causing havoc in the zone. There are six random events that are active within the zone that can be seen on the map (M). Event locations throughout the stages are marked by a multicolor globe.

Stage 3

You’ll be able to undertake a quest in each zone during the event that will ask for you to defeat one of the event bosses as follows:

  • Only Darkness: Remembered Lich King Slain (Dragonblight)
  • Broken Masquerade: Remembered Onyxia Slain (Dustwallow Marsh)
  • Champion of the Waterlords: Remembered Firelord Slain (Searing Gorge)

Please note that once the boss is defeated by players, Stage 4 will begin and the boss will no longer be available to kill for the quest completion until the event begins in the zone again.

Stage 4

In stage four, the Radiant Echoes have subsided. Players can choose to return to Dalaran or stay within the zone to slay lingering memories to continue to accrue Residual Memories. A timer within the zone the Residual Memories are still active in will count down to the next zone event. Players can return to Dalaran and take the portal to the next zone that goes active.

Rewards

Players will be able to accumulate Residual Memories to use to purchase items from various vendors in each of the zones. You can keep track of how much Residual Memories you’ve collected by opening Character Info (Hotkey- C) and the currency tab under the War Within dropdown.

  • Dalaran: Remembrancer Amuul in Chamber of the Guardian
  • Dragonblight: Echo of the Silver Hand at Wyrmrest Temple
  • Dustwallow Marsh: Forgotten Hero at Tabetha’s Farm
  • Searing Gorge: Memory of a Duke in the Iron Summit

Players who purchase the Lifeless Stone Ring will be able to collect memories throughout the three event zones to combine into essences and infuse it with power creating the Band of Radiant Echoes (item level 227) heirloom ring.

  • Essence of the Eastern Kingdoms
  • Essence of Kalimdor
  • Essence of Northrend

Gear will begin at item level 480 with some room for upgrades. Here’s what you can look forward to:

I didn't see anywhere that this would be a viable track to quick level existing alts (vs new alts in Remix) but am curious if anyone else can chime in on that. The Legion catch up event ruined every pre-patch for me.

Not live here. Guess it's only US again?

How much time would it take to get heirloom ring? Want to get it, cuz next chance to do it would be in next xpack. Everything else is junk.

Don't see anything either but the EU forum folks did post it was live. Just another mistake I guess.

Pretty sure it was planned to go live after maintenance, so tomorrow for EU.

Why is the part in the Chamber of the Heart not voiced acted?
The event itself is real underwhelming

As of right now, this could be the worst pre-patch event ever! Bugged AND poorly designed.

The event cycles every 90 minutes, and takes about 5 minutes to complete. It does not reset during that 90 minutes. So if you aren't there at the exact start time, you miss the boss. You can then farm mobs for 1-5 currency each. I got about 1000 in an hour as a hunter just tagging everything. A single weapon costs 8000.

When I did get to do the boss, he dropped 500 currency, and a dagger (on my hunter).

When I came back to try again on an alt, the event bugged out and the boss never spawned. I was getting maybe 500 exp per kill on regular mobs. Not a viable leveling source at the moment. It would be MUCH faster just to quest and dungeon through DF content or do level a Panda remix guy.

This seems like it will be patched, it's just so blatantly bad. We shall see.

Maybe Blizzard didn't expect much interest in the event and wasn't willing to commit that many resources to it? In past pre-launch events the big draw was the ability to quickly level alts, problem is that WoW:Remix kinda took the wind out of their sails. The leveling in Remix is so fast that most people are probably done leveling their 70s and are just waiting for TWW to launch.

Same here. And it was the first time they switched on the dynamic/normalized leveling. That event ruled.

Ah yes, the amazing design that the current wow designers are capable of ..

Very buggy rn. The Dustwallow Marsh and especially the Dragonblight ones have been quite buggy. The Searing Gorge one has worked normally.

It is pretty good xp for leveling alts if there are a lot of people around helping kill the trash mobs quickly (and assuming it doesn't bug and despawn them all), at least while rested. Just grinding the mobs is a pretty slow way to accumulate residual echoes though.

Overall it's been fairly meh, the rewards from DF weeklies tbh are better, and it needs some serious fixes.

Not sure. You need to make new characters in remix. I have plenty of existing alts that I want to level, too. Not deleting and remaking all of them and losing reps and stuff.

I have been reading in WoWhead that this event sucks. Is that true?. I'm not going to play it, to be honest. I want to wait for this expansion before i purchase it. Dawntrail in FF14 sucked bad.

Just feels like an event that was rushed. The event coming around every 90 minutes is pretty bad, the grind for currency is laughable & it's not a very good levelling event lol.

    The worst event ever.

this event is ridiculously anti-alt friendly. you have to choose a character and just focus fire that one basically. what Blizzard should do is this:

    1. scrap the shorter times between events. Keep it at 90 minutes
    2. in each 90 minute cycle, do the event 6 times. players get 15 minutes to do it, or it resets. this way, you can do it on your main, switch to your alt and do it again.

This has to be the shittest event they've ever shat out... Boss dying within 5 minutes of starting, and 85 minutes of nothing else to do, WTF WERE THEY THINKING???

Get rid of the 'lingering' crap and have it restart after the boss is killed ffs.
