Radiant Echoes Event Improvements Incoming

We’re working on major updates to the Radiant Echoes event, based on your feedback.

Since the event went live, we’ve been working to address two main concerns: the wait time for the event, and the rate at which you can earn rewards.

We’re quickly changing it so that the event rotates between zones once each hour, and while the Radiant Echoes are active in a zone, they will remain up for the entire hour.

Now you’ll defeat the memory scenarios that surface, and after enough are defeated, the zone boss will rise. After the zone boss is defeated, the memories will begin resurfacing again, repeating the event immediately. If you’re still interested in farming the basic mobs that appeared when the event ended, you’ll find that those remain available in the other zones.

As far as the rewards are concerned, we’ve re-evaluated the numbers and increased earnings. You’ll see the scenarios and bosses giving more currency than before, in addition to providing flightstones and crests so you can upgrade your gear with the vendors now present in Dalaran. The increased rate of completing scenarios and killing bosses should also result in many more drops coming your way.

We spotted players funneling the weekly quests from their alts to their mains, and we don’t want that to feel necessary, so these quests will now be account-bound and they will repeat daily instead of weekly.

As a reminder, you’re still able to transfer the residual memories currency between members of your warband as you wish.

There are some other things we’re working on, such as the occasional scenario getting stuck and not completing. But with this new format, even if a scenario gets stuck, there will be others around that you can switch to and continue to make progress.

    Could we maybe have some extra content as well? Compared to say the Legion pre-event this thing is basically nothing.

    And what did Legion event have that wasn't "go there, kill things, get currency"?

    This is likely so they don't have the boss spawning three at a time in one zone or in all zones nonstop. You know, small indie company.

    Yeah sounds good to me. The event as it was initially released was beyond bad. I had spent roughly 3 hours grinding and killed two bosses because initially I didn't pick up the quest for boss kill. I got around 3k memories. It was so boring I couldn't take it. Also this was touted as being available to all characters level 10+ but the xp for grinding the mobs was terrible. Also if your in a group/raid you had to get the tag or else you didn't get credit for the kill and no xp or memories. Also gear from vendor is only veteran which isn't great. It's Okay to fill slots for a new alt or something sure. I got a piece of champion gear from a boss kill which was for level 70 toons. But it was BoP not warbound. Which sucked. But it was a weapon so kinda useless since bullion is basically uncapped and you automatically get 2 from the weekly quest so you can get an awakened weapon in no time.

    So yeah lets see how this plays out with fixes.

    That is not how it works.
    The idea that they "purposefully fuck stuff up so they can look good when they fix it" is just blatantly wrong, cause they would do better just to release it as fixed.
    It is basic logic and psychology that the player base would feel far happier if stuff just WORKED, instead of it being broken and then later fixed, cause it being broken scares people off that won't come back when it's fixed.

    It also shows EVERY piece of content needs PTR. All could be avoided if they dedicate just single weekend for focused testing, feedback would be pretty much the same they got this week.

    Good changes. The biggest issue right now is the event getting stuck on 5/6 echoes done, so the boss never spawns. It's a little unclear from the blue post if their solution for that is just waiting until the next hour's event if one does get stuck, or if they're changing it to 'enough' echoes being done (5/6) and the boss spawns then.

    Pretty sure they literally said once the boss dies it just restarts the event, so it will spawn again and again and again.

    Throwaway pre patch event launches in bad state while its all hands on deck to launch an xpac and most of the more vocal players are testing betas and not the PTR who would of thought?
