War Within Beta Launch Test - August 15

At that time, only a special realm named “Launch Test” will be available for testing.

Please log into the Launch Test realm and copy your live character or use a level 70 character template and then head to Dalaran. At 2:00 p.m. PDT (5:00 p.m. EDT, 23:00 CEST), we’ll simulate a full expansion launch. Testers should receive the quest to start the expansion intro experience at that time.

Thereafter, we’ll play through the expansion intro and all the way into the first zone, the Isle of Dorn. We’ll aim to end the test at around 3:30 p.m. PDT (6:30 p.m. EDT, 00:30 CEST) and we’ll return other test realms to service thereafter.

Thank you and we’ll see you in Dalaran!

This is a *paid* closed beta lol, what stress test are we talking about?

This is not a paid beta test, there's a new ptr realm named "launch test" literally everyone can participate for this event.

It says "Please join us for a special test on the War Within Beta realms tomorrow" in the blue post, not PTR... so is it a beta or PTR realm?

It's a ptr realm, you can already see it on the realm list by logging into ptr right now.

Regardless, it's a very weird move to release/spoil important part of the story when 1 week is left. They could've done that when alpha/beta first released.

Because spoiling one week early makes more sense than spoiling three months early.

You're aware that they've stress tests for each beta right? Now it's just a little more glorified than hanging around Orgrimmar.

Not many people are gonna be playing when one week is left, let's be real here lol. It would've been way smarter to push this first alpha build/beta build so they can get more load players.

Thanks for clarifying, I don't have the PTR installed so couldn't check.

Because why would you stress the servers months before, when you still have plenty of work to do that then wouldn't be stress tested if you didn't do it nearer to launch?

Because thats when you have lots of people playing it? I assure you a handful amount of players will be playing this "test" realm tomorrow. Ain't nobody gonna download ptr just for a quest whereas if they did this when alpha/beta first launched, they'd have more players to "stress test". Also what work? They didn't include the intro, which is what they're testing btw, an intro quest was already done. They just didn't include it in alpha/beta to spoil people.

Very naive of you to think that only those who take part are getting spoiled.

Does anyone else suddenly have Beta access? I never got a notification or prepurchased to get it, but I suddenly saw it available today.

And despite what the post says, the realm is currently called Launchy McLaunchTest.
