No kidding. Blizzard didn't even bother giving it a '/mountspecial' animation. Could've easily given the Champion's Treadblade special animation of doing donuts with it but noooooo.

Also, apparently you can't go back into that dungeon anymore once you get the mount? I have the torch out but the entrance won't appear, so apparently the developers have decided to remove the need to deal with torches #10, #11 and #12?

Is it a flying mount? Flying motorcycle would be so good.

Lelenia: You still can enter the catacombs, so your assumption is wrong. Also there are apparently still riddles to be solved (hiting the red button 1000 times still adds tiny orbs to #10 as an example). Additionally the mount has a secret code function that has to be resolved, at this point only two have been figured out. And to my knowledge we still haven't found Ratts herself. So, go figure.

Right now it has no flight and not even a mount special animation.
BUT when you unlock the mount you get a spell that lets you input different codes which cause the mount to do different things; I think so far they found a way for it to throw green fireworks and lay a noblegarden egg. So maybe the 3 remaining orbs are there as secret codes for flying, a mount special or something more interesting.

I have an engineering-themed DH who is loving it. But it needs flight.

Is the mount available only during the anniversary celebration ? Or can I wait until TWW is free ?

You need the detective title to start the mount quest. And you can currently only get that during the celebration. I am not sure you need TWW for the detective though (you can just do the celebration crates and none of those are in Khaz Algar). I assume once you have it, you can head to Dornogal and talk to the NPC who responds to this at a later point as well.

There are still 3 puzzles to go though, but they have a voidy orb now in the catacombs.
I wonder if those will unlock when 11.0.7 launches and are currently not available.

you dont need any promotional stuff for this version of the bike though? I have it ' im in the EU also its not blizzards fault it's mountain dews fault and the headquarters of the stores who are supposed to supply the promotional items

No you can still go back into Ratts instance of the Karazhan Catacombs after getting the mount. The 10 o'clock, 11 o'clock and 12 o'clock orbs appear but they are voidy and the portcullis for the cat and crystal rooms are gone.

Well - there are people who say they will do content that is engaging even without a reward. I am following these puzzles with great interest, my mind boggles, how the secrets are found out and yeah - it seems that indeed there are folks who do stuff for the reward of figuring things out.

I have tried to go back into the instance after getting the mount but it won't let me. Torch of Pyrreth or not, the instance portal won't appear. I tried reloading the UI, leaving the zone and returning, even closing the game and restarting, but it won't appear anymore.

There are no time restrictions – once a secret has been released, it will be remain available to solve (with the exception of “Guest Relations” quests from Alyx – these are only available during WoW’s Anniversary).

I feel confident they will add some other mechanism to get the Detective title after the anniversary event ends

People are getting their achievements confused.

The <Detective> title is awarded by [Azeroth's Greatest Detective], with the requirement that you finish 2 of the 4 underlying achievements. Gathering 6 and all 11 crates counts as 2 separate ones, which mean that once they relocate the NPC you can still get the achievement and attached title to start the Felcycle questline.
