Wait. I thought Ret was doing really nice. Or maybe I was wrong and still am I guess. What still needs buffs is demo. It seems to be lacking. But we will see what these buffs to affliction will do next week.

Looks like these buffs are aimed at a very niche selection of specs. Basically the "bad at every boss" category. Demo much like boomie or shadow isn't doing too great, but has one or two bossfights it pulls alright numbers. At least thats my guess why those aren't buffed as well.
Its not like they are huge buffs anyway. ~4% buff to havoc still keeps them in the bottom 5, dark ranger still can't hold a candle to sentinel for marksman etc.

Boy i sure love these outlaw changes. Might make me sub again. The dice being removed certainly is amazi... right, dreaming again. Sure hope they do something before the next expansion, or i'll be so far behind i won't even understand, or more importantly care, what's going on anymore.

What you're trying to say is: It's completely fine for the effort it takes to play.

It's the most played dps spec at 12+ also. Even at 15+ it is #4.

15 is nothing these days, like the top 13.000 runs are over 15,and ret is almost nowhere to be seen,im not asking to be the meta, even if ret is the nr 1 dps it proly wont be meta in m+ because ironicaly it doesnt actualy bring anything useful

It may not be cranking at the absolute top but there are many specs below it who see almost no play at all. Dh, warlocks, hunters (sv doing ok now), monks, priest dps and others almost persona non grata in these. Ret is in a pretty good place in raid charts also.

popularity will often middle out performance a bit but beyond that https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/38?

    they arent below average

Swarming with ret paladins in m+, it must be their most popular season ever or?

They are definitely doing good enough to not warrant any buffs at least as this tuning pass is for the worst specs.

Season 3 and 4 of df they were similarly popular. Season 2 they were more in line with the typical representation of meta specs. But also holy paladin was basically the only healer played and they just got their rework then which probably played part in lower popularity.

It's just insane how much they are played especially in the more "casual" content like weekly keys or pug raids. Not sure we ever had a spec be this popular for so long.
