Imagine for a moment if these were rewards for a difficult in-game achievement. Imagine for a moment if these were a rare drop that took time and dedication. Imagine for a moment if these were something you saw another player with and wondered what cool thing had to do get it too. You look it up and instead learn you just have to whip out your credit card. Zero accomplishment, zero weight. Merely a product to sell to people so they can jerk themselves off to the feeling of monetary exclusivity and superiority over people less fortunate than them. What an utter disgrace gaming has become. You can hardly even call it gaming anymore. These things are turning into nothing more than digital spaces for people to flaunt their wealth

Too many store items during this expansion. I wonder The War Within has been doing great in sales and subs or not.

Imagine the game and the players were still like they were in 2008. Imagine almost 20 years happened and what you describe wouldn't be a thing even if this was a rare thing in the game.

    But you don't understand.

WoW is not this kind of game. WoW is meant for super mega casual dads with 3 wives, 20 kids, and 4 jobs, and these guys don't have time to play the game for more than 3 hours per week but still want the same gratification out of it as if they played it for much longer than that, so Blizzard made it so that gratification can come by simply swiping the credit card.

Doesn't matter - a company will always try and get more money. I think we can agree that TBC and later WotLK had the highest sub counts. They still introduced a shop waaay back then.

Comments like this make me laugh like a company in the US is ever going to say "You know what I think we are making enough money"

They put stuff in the store because people buy them plain and simple. The fact I haven't had to actually go into the AH in Dorongal in months cause there always seems to be 5 or 6 $90 long Bois standing around should tell you everything

This isn't defending the billion dollar company this is understanding the god damn reality that capitalism mean keep growing no matter what the system is the system and at this point you'll need a global revolution to change that

imagine you not being a consuming simp for a multi billion dollar company

put the mount behind an achievement, make it hard. Make it rare.

Why would you want to actively exclude yourself from obtaining that mount then?
