When: June 3 through July 14
Where: Queue up solo or with a group of friends through Xyggie Marou in Dornogal, Orgrimmar, or Stormwind
Requirements: Level 80

Steel your nerves and begin your adventure by visiting an event hub located in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, or Dornogal. Queue up with Xyggie Marou and prepare for intense matches against pairs of legendary bosses.

Mega-Mayhem Means More Madness

Four available bosses storm the stage in week one, with more joining the madness each week, culminating in a full roster of 10 chaotic boss encounters before the event ends. With new bosses being added, the pool of possibilities is endless.

More bosses mean more points, and the more points you earn in combat, the higher your chances of taking your place on the podium. No matter where you place, the Prize Chest at the end of a Dastardly Duo match is yours and contains Warbound Veteran-track gear and other rewards to go along with your bragging rights.

Diving into the Dastardly Dome solo or with less than five in your group? Volunteer NPCs will automatically fill in to help. That is unless you're trying for a more challenging fight to earn those sweet points, then you can dismiss them.

Vinnie Sweets' Weekly Quests with Roughhousing Rewards

Each week during the event, Vinnie will dole out a fresh quest starting with "Who are the Dastardly Duos?" for a sweet Dastardly Prize Purse containing Champion-track gear and a Dastardly Banner toy.

New rewards are available each week; continue to earn a Dastardly Prize Purse and new loot upon completion of the latest weekly quest, like the illustrious Winner's Podium toys and the spicy Mean-Ball Ball Bag pet. You can even ride astride atop the coveted Tyrannotort's Treat mount from the "They've Heard of You!" quest on week four.

You'll always be number one with the Winner's Podium toy! Bask in the glory of your eternal victory.

"Vinnie Sweets kept this rare, albino turtle a secret, saving until it was time to help promote Dastardly Duos."

Here’s the reward rollout alongside the Dastardly Prize Purse:

  • Week 1: Dastardly Banner toy
  • Week 2: Winner's Podium toy
  • Week 3: Mean-Ball Ball Bag pet
  • Week 4: Tyrannotort's Treat mount

Buff Up Before Your Battle

Before you start the fight, be sure to fill up on food and drink buffs from the Craft-Service Table, Wodin the Troll-Servant (wears many hats and also serves as a reward vendor), or the drink shelf:

  • Beefy Burger (Craft-Service Table):
    • Increase damage done by 15%
    • Decrease damage taken by 15%
  • Hearty Haunch (Wodin the Troll-Servant): Toughen up!
    • Physical damage taken reduced by 80%
    • Magical damage taken reduced by 40%
    • Damage done reduced by 40%
    • Threat generation increased by 600%
  • Vial of Healing: Gain 8% health every 6 seconds.
  • Bottle of Invisibility: Turns the player invisible.
  • Can of Amps: Increases speed by 50%.

Foods that increase the challenge to boost your score in the dome:

  • "Challenging" Shrimpy Fish (Craft-Service Table):
    • Decrease damage done by 40%
    • Increase damage taken by 40%
    • Kill and Survival bonus: x2
  • "Challenging" Hot Dog (Wodin the Troll-Servant): x2 Kill and Survival Bonus, but sometimes you get gassy…

Up the Ante to Intensify the Fight

A regular run of Dastardly Duos delivers two bosses at once in each wave, but during the fight, right-click a Cherry Bomb to place a green target on the ground. Defeat any bosses or other mobs in that ring to earn a double score. Other items to help earn you more points include:

  • Burner Clock: Adds 30 seconds back to the Dastardly Duos clock.
  • BIG Burner Clock: Adds 60 seconds back to the Dastardly Duos clock.

Starting week three, you can use the Horn of Calling to summon an additional boss, but be careful; if a member of your party simultaneously blows their Horn of Calling, the chaos could be catastrophic with three or more bosses at the same time!

Catapult yourself into the chaos of the Demolition Dome now—we look forward to seeing you deliver your best during Dastardly Duos!

i would say that depends more on WHAT you do ingame rather than how many hours, so the chart would be misleading at best

If that's representative is another question I have no interest to discuss, but it is possible for sure.
Good point, especially about how it is representative. It is kinda like with those "you can easily be ilv soandso" and it kinda does involve luck with drops, the vault, tons of money for crafting etc etc. The other thing is also the currency IMHO at some point I was always short on some.

Yeah..in that regard, the Nightfall or Duo gear is not meant for those people. Personally I am always fine with some "free" gear for alts, as I am also collecting several of the T2 sets..and not least do they come in 4 versions. With a catalyst charge every second week, alts help to get the transmogs.

Oh yeah...and then there is the luck factor imho...The amount of trinkets I get from chests and vaults is disgusting...and for a few of my alts, I just cannot get a hero chest or shoulder to drop...they are just cursed.

Is it though? Wouldn't it be just better to have a brawlers guild right when the patch was released, remaining for the entirety of the xpax, instead of a limited time event somewhere in the middle of the patch that gradually evolves over time? So when you think: Now I have time and interest to do the thing you can do it, instead of doing it whenever they want or not at all?

Something new to do in space of where there was nothing new to do is infinitely better, yes.

One day Blizzard will find the sweet spot (haha...not)
I don't disagree with you on this (all of it, really). I'm just saying that for me personally I don't understand why they feel the need to limit events to a certain timespan (which is rhetorical; I know why they do it, hence the complaint). I'd just rather not do the time limited events at all than have to sub during certain times to play certain features.

I was going to reply with "isn't it just worse now?", but I don't have a concrete example of when it wasn't FOMO. Even slivers of Classic are fomo-ish.

Agree on the time limit...smells too much of a FOMO if that is the correct term for artifical limited availabilities. Be it for achievements, toys etc - I hope this stuff stays. Well, at least I expect it to return occasionally with updated rewards.

Ok, then we kind of disagree here. I would prefer something new to do in a space of my choosing as significantly better.

And I would prefer a full content patch every 3 months but alas.

This is about whether nothing was better than something.

I hard disagree. WoW is a much better game when you can take extended breaks without worrying about "missing out". This game SHOULDN'T be the only thing you spend your free time on. I already raid and push high keys, and that makes playing the many other games I want to play or shows I want to watch more difficult. WoW is a buffet, and you don't go to the buffet to fill up on rice, I'd rather just not go to that buffet.

It's not about getting something instead of nothing. This is about getting all things at once instead of artificially spread out over a patch. The amount of content stays the same.

There used to be nothing in this spot tho, so the amount of content is increasing despite being spread.

I am not sure what you are talking about. The content was there when the patch hit, and they withheld it until now. And I would prefer if they just release everything at once and let us decide when we want to do this. So it would still be your choice to do it now when there is nothing else for you to do.

I too would prefer if they released it all at once.
But it's still better than how it used to be, which was absolutely nothing, just waiting for the next big patch.
