Faerin character model in the game is so good and pretty, dunno how they can make her so ugly in the artworks or why they would do that.

Don't really see what you are seeing. At least she looks more like the cinematic version of her and not the basic human face she has in game.

Her cinematic version is also bad.

I don't find scars and damaged eyes as something to call appealing, personally. Badass, sure. I still wonder what she's doing here and not helping fight against the prime evils in Diablo.

Blizz should stop making this DEI char a thing. Aside from that the one who designed this walking checkbox could have given her a more believable role, like a mage or priest (being halfblind and 1 arm). Or a weapon that would work in melee, like a flail or mace. A lance is typically used when mounted, not on foot making her look very dumb for picking a wrong weapon.

Do you know that soldiers in the middle ages were actually majority lancers on foot? Heck, even the spartan and the romans were lancers with shields on foot.

If nothing else, I want that shoulder transmog. Then also give me her shield transmog and I am a happy Paladin Player.

Faerin clearly wields a jousting lance. A very short jousting lance, that is.

You're right, lances were commonly used in the middle ages and before, but only because actual swords were a luxury item that only the nobility could afford. The common soldier or guard was given a long, sharp stick, sometimes with a metal endpiece of varying size and form. But essendially it was a long pointy stick. Sometimes they were a bit shorter, so they could be thrown. It also takes less training to use a lance than to use a sword, so pretty much every peasant could be recruited into the army in times of war.

Now, lances could also be used on horses, mostly for tournament purposes and only seldom for actual combat (rider vs rider combat was REALLY uncommon, knights on horses did mostly slaugther underequipped peasants). Those lances had handguards, because in contrast to infantry combat, your and the opponents lance would have a good deal of momentum you wanted to deflect.

Thats what Faerin wears. Only in short and without a horse. Faerin would have been a laughing stock in the middle ages, even if you just look at her equipment.

Almost every single time anybody tries the argument "but there were no black people in X time/place/etc" it's just veiled racism. There were no dragons or planet splitting Gods in any point of history either, yet somehow it's always just the presence of black people that seem to blow up the racist's immersion.

I am kinda out of the loop when it comes to WoW but at first I thought it was a guy from the art I saw. Dont mean any harm, its just it feels very masculine at a first sight, specially in my case that did not play the game.

This Hollywood trend is a failure, just like Snow white or that failed LOTR series with black dwarves and elves.
What is wrong in showing a hot blonde lady that actually looks like an half-elf?. Example: Aribeth de Tylmarande.
