Dimensius Contained Cinematic - Patch 11.2 Ghosts of K'aresh
The Manaforge Omega raid finale cinematic unlocked after defeating Dimensius has been revealed! Story Spoilers Ahead!
Better than DF and SL but that's a very low bar, very much tired of Xal'atath being smug and teleporting away but we knew this was gonna happen, end raid cinematics don't seem to actually conclude anything anymore the way they used to
All the people bitching about "Xal'atath redemption arc, Xal'atath gonna be Kerrigan 4.0" now are gonna whine about her betrayal being obvious. WoW "fans" are never gonna be happy with the story if they look at it through such a cynical lens.
Everyone is fing immortal and no one can't do shit about anything. Smug villain gets away from dumbo highlighting how clever smug and powerful she is for the 1000th time this year. All the suspense for character is gone at this point. If i'll see Alleria's haircut one more time im gonna throw up.
So I assume the "I can't believe they're making Xal'atath a good guy! Writing bad!" outrage crowd is immediately going to pivot to "Well OF COURSE she was going to pull a traitor it was so obvious! Writing bad!" as if the deal being extremely temporary wasn't drilled into our skulls for the entire campaign.
I hate to say it but Blizzard really only knows how to write two kinds of female character don't they
- Fucking up at every turn and learning nothing until an unearned victory
- 4d chess smarter than everyone and somehow everyone keeps dropping their guard

You're missing that blizzard promised to uplift wow story telling in the WSS, to quote Metzen "we ain't messing around" - does anyone truly believe that has been delivered so far? Because so far we've had exactly the same tropes, cliches and predictable plot beats that we've had for years, not to mention one of the worst storylines in recent years with legacy of the arathi; now in fairness who knows exactly how much of war within was already written and made, so I think some amnesty should be granted, but 11.2.x story and Midnight NEEDS to be better than this or they are not living up to their promises, it is that simple

Like what else was gonna happen? Xal screaming "Karesh is free!!!" or what?
Something we didn't all guess would happen last week would have been good
Another dumb cinematic
*teleports behind you*
"Nothing personal kid!"
*drops epic one-liner and teleports away*
Somebody got paid to do this
It was definitely generic. It's basically your average generic WoW cinematic, where the vague dialogue is virtually the same but the faces are different. While it wasn't as bad as the end raid cinematic of Ny'alotha, it's not much better either. Feels more like the team was obligated to put in a cinematic rather than that the situation demanded it.
For all of his wisdoms and years of experience and him knowing Xal for a very long time AND YET he didnt fucking see that coming?
Hell I am 40 years old and if I spend few years with someone I would have known most of their traits and stuff already! Locus had many years! for fuck sake..
