Pringles WoW Quest: Exclusive Thunder-Ridged Elekk Mount Reward
Pringles has teamed up with the German creative agency Jung von Matt Nerd to launch a Real Live Quest celebrating the Midnight expansion, rewarding players with an exclusive in-game mount: the Thunder-Ridged Elekk.




Rather than a traditional marketing campaign, this collaboration challenges players with a real quest in which they must find special advertising pillars resembling giant Pringles cans featuring the World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion.

  • Pillars are located throughout six cities in Germany: Frankfurt, Hamburg, Bremen, Berlin, Leipzig and Munich.
  • The exact locations are highlighted in stories on the Pringles Instagram Page.
  • Each pillar includes a QR code that leads to a website with a World of Warcraft quiz: pringleswow.de
  • Successfully completing the quiz rewards players with the exclusive Thunder-Ridged Elekk mount.
  • The campaign's terms and conditions state that a total of 3000 mount codes are available.
  • The campaign runs until March 26, while the website and quiz are available through April 5, 2026.

    While the idea does sound fun, it is really stupid to not make it so that people outside of the physical locations cannot partake. Guess we're to wait for someone to post their QR?

    Considering the history between Germany and Iran back during a certain wartime period, the Blizz PR team thought it was approriate enough to put some quest giver cans in Iran for a while. Unfortunately, since Iran is a PvP server right now the quest giver cans died and are still waiting to respawn. In response, the Blizz PR team decided that a quest giver dying to PvP would remind players too much of WoW Classic, not retail, so they went with just Germany to promote Midnight.

    Jokes aside, pretty sure Iran cracks down on 'unhealthy' foods to some degree, so there's probably no way they'd put a Pringles advertisement in Iran even in the best of times. Not that the original Iran/Germany comment was serious to begin with... but levity is the spice of life.

    It leads to www.pringleswow.de. You might need a VPN set to Germany, though. The webpage seems to be a bit unstable currently, it took me a few attempts until it loaded correctly.

    Did you get it to work? can't seem to get the quiz link with any of my emails, just says Error please try again.

    So Germans can just share the QR code, its just an art piece surely the code is static.

    The link has already been shared around in discord servers, there are probably hundreds of people attempting to complete the quiz right now... and it keeps crashing... hopefully it's back to normal in a few days, the mount is pretty cool!

    Wha? This isn't exercise. It's going to a location in a city and doing a cell phone quiz. It's as much "exercise" as going to the store to buy some Mountain Dew. The only difference is that you can get some Mountain Dew AND a mount.

    I think it'd be better a comparison to go:
    EU promotions = Free
    US promotions = Requires $20 worth of purchases
