Lich King 25-Man No-Buff Heroic Kill by Paragon
Paragon is really done with Icecrown Citadel this time, they killed the Lich King in 25-Man Heroic mode without the ICC Zone Buff. Congratulations to them.

Screenshots of the Day Update
Blizzard keeps updating its screenshots of the day gallery and some of the recent screenshots are fairly interesting. (The last 4 uploads feature the final bosses of the Halls of Origination)

Also, I'm not sure where to post the following screenshot so I'll just add it here. If you needed just one reason to buy Cataclysm: Basic Campfires look awesome now.

Recuperate
Endgame rogues will not be balanced around 100% uptime for Recuperate. We do think rogues will use it however. If mana matters a little more, then keeping yourself alive a little more will matter. We're not fans of the (sadly widespread) belief that keeping the group alive is solely the responsibility of the healers and that dps should do everything in their power solely to maximize their dps, even if that makes things harder on the healers.

According to a news post on SC2Mapster.com, Starcraft 2 game files revealed that L80ETC is now known as L800ETC!

well, first off, you're making a pretty big assumption that full 277 (and I'm not quite sure what you define as full 277 - trinkets etc) is exactly equal to the 5% buff and that the kill wasn't also accomplished due to refined gameplay as well.

Second, all the 5% buff did was reverse the natural progression of final raid boss encounters by allowing skilled players (not me) the chance to down the boss before being 100% geared for it. In the old days it would have taken almost this long for them to get everyone geared up enough.

It also shows to me that these guys are dedicated enough and true enough fans of the game to want to do it without the buff and take pride in their game. Why haven't the other big guilds with similar gear accomplished this? Not getting paid enough?

oh and btw why not just be polite and congratulate them on accomplishing something you never will.

Aside from all the brown-nosing of what is admittedly an impressive feat from Paragon, the screenshots from Gilneas still leave me a tad confused. It looks far too nice to never actually be used as a city. Will it be a pvp zone or will be be kicking gnomes/trolls out of our cities only to be left with two new races of squaters?

Thing is, it should have been like Herald of the Titans. That way, they would have something to aim for. A challenge. Like Paragon said themselves, the only hard part was having the whole raid online for the duration of the fight.

If you watch the news episodes in Starcraft 2, eventually there will be a commercial for the L800ETC. I think it was a music album of all sorts of really dumb names.
