Obviously you didn't play classic, because there was a major content patch every single month. From it's release date (11/2004) to BC (1/2007) there was a new content patch every other month and class tweaks in the months without content updates.

New dungeons/raids (Dire Maul, Blackwing Lair, AQ20/40, Zul Gurub and Naxx 40), new zones (Silithus) or battlegrounds (Arathi Basin), PVP battleground system, auction houses, outdoor raid bosses, world dragons, holidays, random events (like elemental invasions in 4 zones), weather system, hundreds of user interface updates, hundreds of modding LUA functions, hundreds of profession additions, over a thousand new quests + fixes, Darkmoon Faire, new racials, talents, skills and more.

To top it all off, they did all of this while working on Burning Crusade. So you're just so wrong it's not even funny. They really worked hard for your monthly subscription back then.

More time to get my 277 set complete. With an average of <1 277 conqueror token/week ICC was one little hell. 25th Feb for first Saurfang HC, start of May for first LK HC - killed every week since, 15th Sep for 4th token lol. Now if only a 2nd caster sword would drop, that would be even sweeter, or a 2nd Halion HC trinket. Bored out of my mind but rather a good game than a bugged one. I can just be a lootwhore in the meantime.

Hoping they add a way to use all those vendored vanq tokens to get conq ones, even a 10->1 ratio would be great if they ever keep an instance relevant for 1 year again.

Firstly, people are saying that's a typo and that heroic items will be purchased with "Hero Points." Who knows if that's the case or not. Second, even if those blue items ARE purchased with heroic dungeon points, what's wrong with making epics epic again? They're still good items, just because they're not purple you have to freak out?

Do we know yet how many justice points u get per boss after the 4.0 badge conversion to justice points?

Sigh given that they have not announced a release date yet makes the november time frame unlikely so this does not surprise me at all. The really frustrating thing though is if it gets pushed to December its going to get pushed to early Jan. I don't see them even attempting a release in December and instead will just push to the second week of Jan after the holidays.

Compare that to the PvP helmet above. Less agi, less stamina, far more crit, LESS MASTERY, even with the socket bonus. This is an iLevel 359 epic. Do you see where I'm going?

1) This is current season gea:r "scrubs" won't be able to get it with out either arena or rated BG ratings. By the time the next season rolls around, the next raid will be out and "scrubs" will be able to get intro level Epic gear for Hero (or Justice, or whatever they're calling them this week) points. So when this gear is farmable, so will be PVE epics.

2) As one of the "scrubs" who farmed this stuff in BC, it didn't avoid any kind of grind. You couldn't get into raid guilds until you had decent gear. Heroics covered maybe 3-5 slots per class/spec. You had to get the rest of your slots upgraded somehow, and PvP was well itemized enough to make it worth the long days spend grinding honor. There was a huge grind to getting PvP gear, it was just a grind that didn't require a raiding guild to do. Which was a boon to those trying to qualify for a raiding guild.

3) Who cares? If the gear is as well itemized as what they could get in PvE, what difference does it make where they got it. Lot's of tanks wore PvP starter sets at the start of this expansion. It had lots of Stam and Resilience made you crit immune. There's no sign on end game that says "You must grind PvE for at least x hours before r(a)iding"

On top of this I love the implication that everyone who reaches max level a little slower than you is a "scrub". Of course the only man's way to play the game is to power level to max in a week, farm gear in another and be raiding by week 3 of the expansion. Everyone else is a scrub trying to get one over on the system.

I believe these dates are being leaked to sites on purpose to figure out who is leaking what information. Blizz has an easy way out of this. They just need to release the game in Nov without heroics and raids, and push the endgame content off to 4.1 sometime in March to combat the release of The Old Republic. This allows them to shift the entire schedule back and release Tier 12 in August 2010, Tier 13 in March 2011 and Tier 14 (Deathwing) in August 2010. Make a whole lot more sense and no year long raid before next expansion.

a few things.

(1) heroic level blues are better for PvE than the starter PvP sets. Resilience and, in most cases, stamina are useless to PvEers. The PvE gear's focus on mastery and DPS stats (agi, str, int) will have them be preferential to the PvP gear. In some cases, the advantage may be small, but it's still better.

(2) who cares if the hardcore PvEers can afford to pick up 2-3 entry level items once they hit 85? How long will it take you to get 3 drops in heroics? 10-12 heroics at most? They spent hours and hours farming those badges. I'm sure many of them, if given the opportunity and having seen the conversion rate, would take back the time they spent.

(3) The cataclysm event does not necessarily mean new areas to explore. No new areas were released before the actual expansions for BC and WotLK. Granted, those areas were phased. But, I still doubt that we'll be able to play any cata areas without having bought the expansion. 4.0 (01?) will probably be the same thing as it was pre-BC and pre-WotLK; we'll have our talent points refunded and spell ranks and talent trees will be overhauled. Maybe someone with the PTR can let us know if any new areas are available for play with the new patch.

It's not a typo Yorgle. There will only be two types of points in Cataclysm, Justice for the lower tier items, Valor for the higher tier items. Your valor points will reset with each tier release.


Looking at the stats on the sets, I'm not sure I'm thrilled that both my boomkin and elemental shaman will have to find all their hit rating on non tier gear. I mean, seriously, we couldn't put spirit on two or 3 of our T11 pieces? That's putting a pretty heavy constraint on what else we will be able to wear in order to get hit capped.

No way would they release that close to Christmas.

Happy epics won't be available from 5 mans though - hopefully the 10 mans will be hard. Or at least hard enough that you have to get 345 blues before you can do them.

I mean I can understand if its not ready and whatnot, but its almost been a fucking YEAR since ICC was released with only RS to tide us over. It just seems like they would give us SOME type of official release date that they're at least AIMING for! I mean I don't even care if they push that date back a few times I just want A DATE, DAMNIT!

tl;dr: Blizz needs to have some courtesy for their costumers and put out some kind of date already, even if that date gets pushed back.

Everything feels right to me. Nov 2nd felt a little too early, considering Blizzard never announced it and Blizzcon is still 3 weeks away. And we all knew the justice points from out current triumph and frost emblems were going for dungeon blue level gear, not lolepic gear. I am a bit shocked at the amount of resil, but I'm ok with it since I don't gimp my way to my pvp gear.

I agree, Nov 2nd did feel a little too early. Although a mid-December release date seems more realistic, being October 1st is this week, no date has been announced; and a Blizzcon would be a perfect time to announce a mid-December release date.
