Cataclysm Release Date - December 7th
Season 9 starts on December 14th, a blue post stated that Cataclysm would be released one week earlier.

  • Malfurion's Gift now has a 2/4% chance to proc, down from 3/6%.
  • Fury of Stormrage now has a 6/12% chance to proc, down from 15/30%.

Beast Mastery
  • Kill Command now scales from 35% of RAP, down from 63% of RAP.
  • Bestial Wrath now causes 20% additional damage, down from 50%.
  • Focus Fire now has a 30 sec cooldown, up from 15 sec.
  • Mastery: Master of Beasts now increases damage done by your pets by 13.6%, down from 20%. Each point of Mastery increases pet damage by 1.7%, down from 2.5%.

Marksmanship
  • Aimed Shot base damage increased by 14%
  • Mastery: Wild Quiver now grants a 14.4% (down from 16%) chance for your ranged attacks to also instantly fire an additional ranged shot for 100% normal damage (up from 50%). Each point of Mastery increases the chance by 1.8%, down from 2%.

Survival
  • Mastery: Essence of the Viper now increases all elemental damage you deal by 8% (down from 20%). Each point of Mastery increases elemental damage by 1%, down from 2.5%.

Pet Skills
  • Tailspin now lasts 30 sec, up from 8 sec. Cooldown changed to 25 sec, down from 40 sec.
  • Lock Jaw (Dog) *New* - Dog locks its jaws on the target, holding it in place for 4 sec. / 5 yd range, Instant, 40 sec cooldown

Assassination
  • Eviscerate base damage increased by 30%, now scales from 9.1/18.2/27.3/36.4/45.5% of AP depending on the amount of combo points, up from 7/14/21/28/35%.

Combat
  • Backstab now deals 200% weapon damage, up from 175%. Additional base damage increased by 33%.
  • Revealing Strike now causes 125% of your normal weapon damage, up from 100%.
  • Improved Sinister Strike now increases damage dealt by your Sinister Strike ability by 10/20/30%, up from 2/4/6%.
  • Vitality (Passive) now also increases Attack Power by 15%.

    @Gantra, a week to level 85? no. A whole expansion to get to 85. Bear in mind everyone is given the same amount of time (by blizzard) to get to 85. You plan to rush?

    @Rannlock, While I agree with your points and don't mind the odd pedant every now and then, your tone is condescending and plain sucks. Okay, so Boub failed to write 'approximately' and made the date sound final.

    Why do you need to get so irate about it? just let it freaking slide, if he's wrong, he's wrong and you move on. I swear OCD is becoming more common these days.

    @Fuzzzie, the Xpac is flawed because it's still in beta, MUCH can be fixed in that amount of tiem.

    @Lynix, I highly doubt blizzard would fire Zarhym so lightly considering he's quite deep in the company

    You sir are blinded by dumb faith (in a company that deserves/earned none) in what could well be a slip of the tongue (fingers?). We are all waiting for this expansion while they dribble about us but that is no reason to be dumb.

    I'm not sure what "+Arena_master_no_season_text =" means but unless a robot that runs blizzard said it at an official announcement, seems to be very untrustworthy. and if its something from data mining or something, it can most definitely be changed anytime therefore making this prediction of Dec 7th invalid.

    Blue confirmed new class combos will come out in 4.0.3 so yes itll save me money being able to level a new toon. Hopefully 4.0.3 will come out soon enough before Cataclysm so I can have plenty of time to level before 80+ content will be relevant.

    Because halfing the dmg of 1 of our main spells and ripping Molten Core a new one isn't enough.

    ...why? Just why? It was a decent tanking enchant, not SUPER high, but worth getting for PvP and maybe bear tanks. Now it's just a "gimmick" like Engineering was back in classic. Are we backsliding? I mean, I'm not going to whine "Oh, Blizz is making engineers horrible again" because seriously, those hydro pump/cogwheel things are AWESOME. But there doesn't seem to be a good reason to remove the stamina. What's next, parachute cloak enchant no longer granting Agi or spellpower?

    I am excited to play BM again, the nerfs, from what I heard sounds fine.

    I heard pets were doing insane damage, so this (mostly KC) should bring them on par with everyone. Eveyone is prob freaking out over nothing since its a lot of nerfs at once.

    Lock nerf make me sad but I heard demo was op, I'm not sure of afflic, but I should be fine.

    P.S PYROBLAST!

    P.S.S Cata will release just as my semester ends so I'll have about 2 weeks of free play!

    Nice to see blood-caked blade not being part of DK DPS, hope it stays that way. Then once they finish relatively balancing numbers, DKs will be that much less reliant on RNG and auto-attacking, widening the gap between bad players and good ones even further

    Rogue combat changes are going in a similar direction, good to see them buffing abilities that you consciously have to use(finishing moves and SS) instead of more auto-attack power.

    BM hunters got nerfed pretty ridiculously but I'm willing to bet good money it'll be buffed up to par by December 7th, you still have a long ways to go and alot more builds.

    Personally as prot warrior I was kind of hoping they would buff the threat components on our abilities instead of just saying "click this stance and you'll hold threat now", but oh well.

    it makes me sad to see misinformation like this posted. blizzard hasn't released the date yet. period. saying the the date is set because of some place holder text for an npc is weak. that's all that text is, a place holder. the only information i would even believe is the new date posted by amazon which targets jan. 2011. i'd trust this much more than placeholder text on an npc... after all, amazon is a business that will be selling the boxes, they have more of a clue than some NPC since they have the shipping manifests that say when the boxes will arrive and be put on the shelves.
