Is Patch 4.0.1 this week?
Yes, most likely. I'm still trying to get a confirmation on that but really, It's not like it's going to happen on october 19th a few days before Blizzcon. The super mega awesome info compilation for the patch should be available soon, except if I hear that the patch has been delayed.

Update - Oh! Look! An extended maintenance!

Thank you for your patience.

Road to 4.0.1 - Classes pages
A lot of people are contacting me to know more about the changes made to classes in 4.0.1, I'd like to remind you that the class pages are up to date and should answer 90% of your questions. They will be updated with a few more information very soon/if the patch is confirmed for this week.

Road to 4.0.1 - WoWTal v2!
WoWTal.com is (finally) updated with a couple of much-needed features and should be ready for Patch 4.0.1 and Cataclysm. It's theorycrafting time!

  • Cataclysm/4.0.1 Glyphs are finally supported.
  • Masteries/Primary spells are supported.
  • Interface has been cleaned up.
  • The header and the ad slot are gone. (We didn't even have ads anyway)

There are probably a few remaining bugs, feel free to report them in comments. (PS: Using Internet Explorer 7 is a bug on your side.)

Road to 4.0.1 - Glyphs Preview
I didn't really preview glyphs during the beta testing of Cataclysm, mostly because changes were so massive that it was pretty much impossible to track. It's time for a nice preview of the glyphs you can expect on 4.0.1 live realms.

WoWTal.com seems to be completely blank on Google Chrome...

Doesn't work with IE8... did work last night (once), but most of the time it loads the background and then nothing.

Well, MMO-Champion and all it's little offshoot sites seem messed up for me with Chrome. About a 25% chance of any page loading.

oh, so no patch this week either at least last time they said "we will be performing extended mainentance to apply patch xxx", now just a maintenance

Thanks for the preview! Any chance we can get an updated profession preview? I'm still trying to decide between Engi vs. blacksmithing. The cog wheels look interesting, but if it is limited to the Engineering created helms I'm not sure it is worth it for me long term.

Thank you, the amount of people who replied to my comment saying "world changes are not in this patch etc". I know that but i class new ui and spells as new content like Zbandit.

wowtal is borked in Firefox and IE9. I only see the frame where (I believe) you select your class.

Perhaps wowtal is broken by the thousands of people working on their builds? ^^ 10 hours ago there was no problem with the talent planer, everything worked.

I use firefox, safari, chrome and ie, none of them seem to want me to look at the prettiness that is wowtal.

    sadface much

Edit: I see the loaded frame (for class selection, minus icons), the background (+ framework), and the "sigrie", "about" etc options at the bottom of the page. All icons and other framework are not present.

and for the record another time try to explain what is not working just saying it isent working is bullshit
I know this has been posted before... WoWTal is not working for me in Firefox. I have the updated version (not beta) and have no add-ons installed, except Adobe Flash, that would be messing with the page. Love the site, but WoWTal has always been buggy for me, whether I use IE7, IE8, or Firefox. For this reason, I am always forced to use Wowhead's talent calc, despite the fact that WoWTal looks much cleaner and is larger (easier to read).

    Firefox 3.6.10

    Opera 10.62
    IE8

How does wowtal manage to work in none of the above? :O

    Now it works, hooray

That's what I get as well. I see the black background with stripes and then a dark gray rectangle where the class icons are supposed to be located. I used to see everything, but with bugs... now I only see the background.

There is a javascript error on wowtal right now. Either they meant to put up bad code (so we just see the blank screen while they're working on something) or someone put up some bad code.

Is the maintenance for US alone or both? Or do EU have to wait until the 14th as usual?

I'm running FF3.6.10 and it works perfectly for me.
