Elemental Invasion Part 4 - We're under attack!

Elemental Invasion Part 4 - We're under attack!
Things are getting serious and elementals are attacking capital cities!

Elemental Invasions
  • Guards will try to evacuate citizens, low level players can also use portals to leave the city before the attack.
  • You first have to deploy sandbags/barricades to help defending the city.
  • You will then have to defeat the elementals in all the districts of the city, Orgrimmar is damaged badly in the process and most of the buildings are on fire.


Tripping the Rifts Achievement
The achievement is now very easy to complete, all you have to do is defend the cities to kill the 4 types of Elementals.
  • Earth and Fire elementals are found in Ironforge for Alliance, and Orgrimmar for Horde.
  • Wind and Water elementals are found in Stormwind for Alliance, and Thunder Bluff for Horde.


Bosses
  • After successfully defending the cities, you will get a chance to counter attack by entering the huge portal in capital cities (or using the LFD tool) to fight mini-bosses in 4 different instances.
  • The 4 bosses are Grand Ambassador Flamelash in BRD, Crown Princess Theradras in Maraudon, Kai'ju Gahz'rilla in Zul'Farrak and Prince Sarsarun in AQ20.
  • The bosses only appear at the end of the elemental invasion after you succesfully defended the city, you cannot queue for them all the time.

    Thunderbluff bugged out. Rift didnt close. Cant do the ZF or AQ bosses.
    Orgrimmar wokred fine. Can do Mara and BRD.

    I'm not sure why people on my server are so pissed that a lot of people save Org but ignore TB. They keep going on about doing the other instances, which apparently give no achievement and the same type of gear that has been available for over a year from Normal ICC 10 and Frost Emblems. I usually get the response that they need to gear up newly dinged alts, as if they couldn't just grind Justice Points or wait 3 weeks for much better greens.

    I've also heard the bosses have a shared loot table. Is this confirmed?

    Wake up. Neo!

    So no "You first have to deploy sandbags/barricades to help defending the city", even no need to be in the city at the time of elemental attack.
    All you have to do is log-in and use portals - dunno for how long they stays after attack.
    And this is 4th part of pre-Cata??
    For me it looks like Brewfest or Hallow... Only with less fun.

    Someone's bitter. If you don't like it, go log off and do something else. This event is fun as hell, at least the first time.

    Just as a note that no one else has mentioned, if you're looking to farm reps or other assorted things in other instances be warned that all these rapid LFG dungeons will put you over your hourly dungeon limit rather quickly. I fell for that trap and then couldn't work on finishing off getting thrallmar rep to exalted on my paladin. I'm surprised honestly so many people were complaining about the framerate issues, even at the very last portal to be taken in Org my framerate was higher than what it falls to in Dalaran. For me thats one of the main things I'm looking forward to with the expansion, leaving a single hub for both factions behind.

    To #219 There are no achievements from this part. However you can get the FoS easier trough destroying a rift of each type in the attacks.

    I logged in yesterday and I totally had a WTF moment when I found myself in the middle of one of these events not knowing what exactly was going on. I logged in looking for a mailbox but I found out there wouldn't be any untill it was over

    One of the problems I see is who is going to want to clear this mess up more than once? It was fun the first time, but after that? I could be wrong.. maybe people will take part all week.
