Patch 4.0.6 Justice and Honor Trade Goods Vendors
Patch 4.0.6 introduces 2 new vendors to the game, the Honor and Justice Trade Goods vendors! They can be found next to the other Justice and Honor NPCs and will sell reagents for a very reasonable price.

Please note that some of these items are stacks of items so pay attention to the quantity on the icon! The Satchel of Freshly-Picked Herbs contains a selection of 20 random Cataclysm Herbs.

I do think you have to take the tone of that post in the context in which it was written. Because Sinestra is a super-hardcore boss, they were pretty much the first ones to really push her mechanics to the limits. It's easy to see from their post that they were understandably frustrated. Not only were they trying to learn the mechanics and develop strategies, but we were watching closely, hotfixing several different issues as they stumbled across them. This meant they had to adapt to the changes we were making on the spot in addition to figuring out how to kill her -- and she's definitely no pushover.

We do wish it would have been a cleaner fight for them, but we really appreciate them pushing the limits of hardcore raiding, and testing us to design new and compelling challenges. (Source)

Dungeon Difficulty and Ghostcrawler's Blog - Wow, Dungeons are Hard!
I know you're probably frustrated by any number of issues Ghostcrawler tackled in his blog. We completely get that, which was the entire point of his post. We're not telling players it's our way or the highway. We're not burying our heads in the sand and letting you figure it out. He took a lot of his own time to try and provide some insight and positive reinforcement, admit some design mistakes we've made in Cataclysm, and let you know (most importantly) that we hear you.

We also have to recognize that there is a harsh debate within the community right now about the difficulty level. Players are flinging mud at one another and saying "learn to play", or "go grind in some other hardcore MMO". People aren't in agreement about these things and need to tone down the rhetoric (which Ghostcrawler addresses eloquently in his blog).

We're not going to join that debate, though we are players too. The best we can do right now -- as I think Ghostcrawler noted well -- is keep the dialog open and encourage constructive criticism, and even positive feedback. Hearing both what players like and don't like about select aspects of gameplay is useful to us.

The entire reason behind him writing that blog sprung from us sending him a particular thread (amongst many other we've been sending him since the launch of Cataclysm) that had him really concerned: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/1660221627

He wants to see the tone of the debate changed so we can work together to make this a better game, so it's really unfortunate when you post as though he's throwing the naughty finger in your face. His post was not written from a place of hubris. Those who would take it that way probably just fundamentally disagree with the current design philosophy. But only two things are true in this case: 1) we will never please everyone with our design, and 2) we will never stop listening to our players.

In any event, I appreciate you taking the time to post. I just hope you can keep an open mind and a thoughtful dialog with us, as simply sharing with us how you perceive Ghostcrawler's attitude to be won't move game design anywhere. That's just the reality of it all. (Source)

Removing guild reputation requirements for officers
Sounds great, here's how that would work out: I have an awesome end-game progression guild. We're level 25. You give me 20k gold, I send you an invite and promote you to the highest officer rank. You buy whatever rewards you want, and then leave.

This is not the intent of the system. (Source)

yeah.. those prices are kinda steep. Then again, it makes sense with the roll over of gear tiers, going down after each content patch. We'll all eventually see an excess of JP, just like we saw unthinkable amounts of Emblems of Frost towards the end of LK. I had so many I was down graded to buy and sell gems, and stock up on heirlooms

Almost had me there for a second until I saw 20 Embersilk for 2.5k JP.

The Herb bag makes me cry a little bit. I was hoping this would lower the flask prices for once (And I have an alch/herb toon) but alas it will do nothing.

You will already have cheaper flasks, since they are lowering the amount of herbs needed to craft them. And lowering the price is not the point of the vendors.

It's probably worth pointing out that the source of the "very reasonable price" line is MMO-Champion, not Blizzard.

I recall a blue once saying some of the content they make is simply too hard / too time consuming for Blizzard to test, and really the only way they'll know if everything works as intended is the hard way. I think this post was related to onyxia progress or something, ages ago.

I'm personally glad Blizzard isn't spending shitloads of time on progressing their own content. =)

This is actually a little off from how it will work.

Your Justice points from the previous teir will remain. Your valor points will be converted into Justice points and added to the balance. Your VP will be set to zero.

So if you have 2000 JP and 1000 VP, at the start of the new teir you'll have 3000 JP and 0 VP.

    *insert Picard facepalm here*

When 359s go to the JP vendor, you will also have your VPs transfered to JPs and your JPs would disappear.
That's the entire point of how the tier setup is supposed to work.
You keep saying this, and it is wrong. When the new tier comes out, your VP get ADDED to your JPs. Your JPs don´t get deleted. When this happens, if you now have 4000 JP, you will be able to buy 1 or 2 items.. Sound familar? it´s because it is exactly what happened when Cata launched. Players who had saved JP were able to buy 1 or 2 items. At each tier, players who have maxed JP will always be able to buy 1 or 2 items right away.

I understand the need to give something to spend extra points on, but this is not accomplishing it given how ridiculous the prices are. It's not even close to worth my time to even walk to the vendor to get these.
By the time the next content patch comes (probably in more than 2 months) we will be in all 359s and facerolling heroics. Even in my current gear and running heroics the way we do now, if they announced the content patch was coming in 1 week and I had 0 JP, I could easily have it at 4000. My point, we will have a big warning that the patch is coming AND when it is coming, heroics will be MUCH faster to run.

Honestly, some of the prices are skewed a bit, but overall, I think they are around the right level. Every few days I´ll be buying whichever mat I currently am lacking in (probably the ore for gems right now).

The thing is, these vendors are probably for the vast minority of players... and most of the people complaining on this forum aren´t JP capped right now, so they dont´even understand the point of these vendors.

Remember those frost orbs going for 130g a piece and within days of the new vendor added they were down to 30g each. I would rather see the justice points being able to be used on other types of gear, mounts, or anything that doesn't directly effect a trade that someone has worked so hard to lvl to 525 to now find they can make very little if any profit from them now that every person in the game has direct access to the mats.

    just sayin...
Only in WOW can you have 95% of the people in a thread complain about the prices being too high and stupid, and then you have someone complain because the new vendor will ´ruin´the market for people with two gathering professions because raw mats will suddenly flood the market.

And you are a fail. These vendors are not for people who have to ´save up´to buy something. These are for people who are currently sitting at 4000JP and are in queue to run their daily heroic dungeon for VP.

I think that the items they put on the list is rubbish to be honest. They need to add more reagents on it.

I lvl'd up Enchanting and Engineering on my Mage, and the hardest item was to get is those poxy Volatile Airs. As they have an extremely low drop rate, or only obtainable, from other professions like skinning/mining and herbalism.

I was expecting to see the volatile stuff come on the list of random stuff you could buy from Jp/honor, cus most professions need em.

Of course they aren't intended to be cost-effective but the at the same time they aren't intended to be useless altogether. Come on, nearly the whole honor cap for 40 herbs? That's plain ridiculous! In WOTLK and BC you got 7 gems for cap and that was amazing compared to what you'll get nowadays.

2.5k for a stack of cloth is kinda overprized. Thats 4 bolts of cloth and we need like 8 to make something... The prize of dust and essence also way to high, needing 4k+ jp for 1 enchants is... to much.

    I haven't and I still have 60+ useless shards.

On another point: These prices are ridiculous except on dead servers with no AH economy what so ever (read: empty server or servers where your faction is nearly non-existant).

No, having 4000 JP and entering a heroic dungeon is stupid. People need to stop thinking of this as ´it takes me 5 mins to mine for that ore, or this items sells for x on the AH´... and instead talk to the people who have everything you can buy for JP and have been capped for the past week. When this goes live, we will be getting something, where currently we get nothing.

THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR FARMING, this is a JP dump.

its fail anyone that is capped in jp points needs maelstrom crystals or chaos orbs. even if they cost 4k jp..its total fail..

    hahaha Blizzard, 400 JP for a ~20 G essence.
BoE boots are selling for ~15 K gold...

Even if I had a million justice points, I would never spend 2,500 on a few cloth. That is just silly, and grossly lacking in proportion to the other items. I hope it made you feel better to call somebody commenting on a video game "fail," though. =-) Have a good day.

How hard can it be to understand, since it's been said at least a hundred times by now - there are already better ways to dump JP right now on live servers! "Currently we get nothing" is simply false. These new vendors indeed give you nothing, by comparison.

No one is of course forcing me to peruse these new vendors, and I certainly won't. But they're kinda pointless now, which is unfortunate.

I think the idea is great, the prices obviously need a little tweaking... some are a bit high...
