    I'm buying one.

Everyone seems forget, we all pay money each month to see the same character models everyday. Should I find it unfair and not cool to play a certain race because everyone else has one too?

Jeeze, if everyone is to upset, why not create your own company and do the same thing. I'm sure anyone with a desire to make income would. :\

I'm not real thrilled with the graphics, especially if it shares the base of the sparkle pony (the position of the legs suggests it does). If the animation of it is smooth and neat, then I'll consider purchasing it. I'm not going to buy until I've seen it in action.

anyone noticed the "hoof" are glowing? did they not complete the model yet or is it intended that the paws looks like hoofs and glow.

considering the fact that it shares the same model as any saber mount (going by the looks of the face and the paws suggest that it's running like a tiger/saber/w/e) anyone would realize this late if they have been playing the game for a month that lions and tigers share the same model :P

So just imagine it as a tiger with wings for the meantime with a unique skin

The money isn't going to Japan, just rumors so far.

Actually the mount that was actually a horse would be closer to My Little Pony. This is more of a Lion, which isn't actually a pony at all.

If its comming out any time soon they should give some of the money they make off this mount to Japan. =]

I would only even consider buying a 2 seater flying mount from the blizzard store, the rest of the stuff is kinda useless and just a waste of money

This isn't really an issue with Blizzard giving a portion of it to Japan, if they decided to do so, the issue is people claiming to get the mount to help Japan. That is simply using Japan's disaster to justify getting the mount where as if one cared for those suffering in Japan then they wouldn't belittle those suffering by using them as a reason to justify the mount. They would donate directly and not try to attach the "I helped those suffering in Japan by buying this mount for myself instead of donating directly because this way I get something for it and can justify getting this for myself."

If you get the mount, then admit you are doing it for the mount. Don't try to claim it is to help Japan out when you could donate directly to them without trying to use their disaster as justification in getting you a mount.

"However, if they give the money to help Japan, then I'd definitely buy it." If Blizzard actually did the donation then yes, you would be paying for both and you admitted you would be using the donation to justify getting the mount instead of getting the mount for the mount. The money you would have spent on the mount would be better served going directly to Japan's relief instead of using Japan's disaster to try and justify getting the mount.
SIDE NOTE: I am aware that while I wrote this message, it was discussed elsewhere that the money going to Japan is a rumor. Whether this is true or not, it does not change that your post is wrong, an attempt of gaining moral high ground, a horrible fallacy and a reasoning that people in high school shouldn't even have but they keep troughout their lives. Therefore I will correct this atrocity for the sake of mankind.

So, people rationalize what they do? So what? Nothing new. Money is money. Even if the donation is only a %, it's not inferior to yours morally, only in numbers. Money has no morals. If I give 5$ selflessly, and you gave 10$, that makes me inferior, too? Well, compared to the billionaires who gave thousands, you're an ant as well, God Save the (Ant) Queen. All this to say that, there is no moral in play here. Giving money to Japan does not even make you a better person than if you gave none. If giving pixels to a thousand dudes helps Japan (aid groups) raise 20$x8 000 000$ (maybe cut 50% because Blizz won't give it all away), then hell yes , it's positive, cost effective. Does it matter if getting pixels actually makes people who would not donate otherwise donate? It's cost effective, like I said earlier. Blizz should follow trough with this. If 8 million of the 10-12 million playerbase (average numbers) gave 1$ for the mount and blizz donated 50% to Japan, it would make 4 million$ to repair Japan and help fix things there. The mount goes at 20$. Do the math.

Anyway morality has nothing to do with donations. It's only a social "must look good so people love me" idiotic way of thinking. No matter what the reason is, you gave moeny to Japan, and that money has the same value as your money, and it will be used with your money, to buy the same things as your money, and help as much as YOUR money. What does giving it selflessly or not change here? NOTHING. It's only a way to get moral high ground for yourself. That's all. Stop being an hypocrite and check this sweet thing out. "Oh, my 20$ is inferior to yours, because I got something in return for it, while you selflessly sacrificed your 20$ for Japan". Welcome to the real world, where there's no moral in economics. If I feel like giving my money to Japan and get a mount in return, then I will, and there is nothing you can do. (I don't want that mount, I don,t play anymore anyway). If I want to give my money for free, then I will as well. Does not makes me worse or better than you either way.

Giving my money to Waramps for a key tag makes me morally inferior to the one who gave is money for free. Oh, noes. Seriously. All you say is fallacious. If anything, I got something good for my money.

Anyway, I'm repeating myself, but let's go one more time: THINK. Don't be like most of the brainless Trade Chat lurkers. Morality is an illusion, fake mental barriers made by people. Follow society rules in order to maximize efficiency and gain, raise survival chances, but don't be blinded by morality. Help if you want to help, give trough something that gives you an incentive if you want. Who cares as long as Japan gets their help? They would trough government and taxes anyway, so by paying taxes I'm giving money to Japan, making everyone as morally good as you. Everybody wins.

You'd rather Japan gets no money out of 8 million people? I'd rather the Blizz way than no way at all. Who cares what's people's reason for giving money to Japan? Even a 50% donation is better than a 0% donation. Sure, more money is better IN NUMBERS, but whether you give or not, no matter what you choose for giving or not giving, the end result will be the same, anyway.

I hope I have been clear. It's fine to want to feel pride, but seeking moral high ground by lowering the 8 million people who are gonna buy that mount on an internet forum is just a plain waste of time, fallacious, and I named it all in the bolded text at the top and I have been clear and I bet you,re gonna give me a fallacious answer as how I am wrong and morality debate ensues. Talk to you soon.

(I'm french, english may suffer. French as in Canadian, so it's a 'lil better. See ya)

Anyone remember the iPhone app which was called "I Am Rich" it cost $999.00 (USD) and only wealthy people such as myself or complete dumb asses who click buy thinking it was a joke owned the app?

Well i would likely never use Real-Life Money on 'Virtual in-game" goods no matter how wealthy i am, such as pets, mounts, buying gear, gold, etc. as offered in WoW other mmo games through their website (wow does not allow you to buy gold or gear for those people who will obviously forget the rest of this post to reply just to state that fact, that statement is for other games).

So yea the Celestial steed falls into both categories
    1) Any dumb ass with his / her moms credit card can have that mount and are now apart of the exclusive club called 'Everybody' (you're not cool).
    2) People who spend money on in-game items should really put that money to better use, like on anything else...

maybe that $25 would get you out of your basement and you can hang out with your REAL LIFE friends, or perhaps you can go on a date with a REAL PERSON, i capitalize REAL because there are people who will argue that they hang out with their FRIENDS 'ONLINE' or they go on DATES 'ON VENT/SKYPE (while jerking off questing with a female character that 98% of the time... is a dude! sorry it's the truth)'

There is only 2 type of people who play female characters
    1) Females who enjoy manipulating sad lonely fat wow players into giving them virtual gold, paying for their account etc. and
    2) Guys that have picked up on this and are too afraid to come out of the closet in REAL LIFE so they take their drag queen sex change to WoW where they also flirt and cyber with other dudes (who think they're chicks) for the same reasons as females that do it.

Anyways back on topic, I do however have a solution to fix both issues for items purchased from the blizz store for WoW.
    1) Create the most epic amazing diamond studded, chromed out, lazer beam, under glow, lambo door, 6 speed, fly like a G6 type Mount
    2) Sell it for over $800.00
    3) Include title "name The Black Jesus Messiah"

Now if you buy this mount, you are apart of a exclusive club, and you can brag about it, and you are cool! And if you have this kind of money to spend, you already own everything else worth purchasing in REAL LIFE so why not buy virtual crap for fun.

    YES the rumors are true!
    1) I drive a 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo
    2) I will retire before i'm 30
    3) I am Bi-Winning
    4) All I do is Win Win Win no matter what
    5) I am better than you at everything, even crochet
    6) Canada > USA (regardless of how you try to argue it)
    7) and last but not least, I will most likely be banned for this post because people have the hard time accepting the Facts

Why is throwing a little extra money around a bad thing? I assume by "put that money to better use" you mean strip club or something. If you don't like it, don't buy it. If you do, get one. Not that big a deal. I think it's neat so I'm gonna get one so my alts don't have to ride the windrider or that AWFUL bronze drake that I'm so sick of. Will other people have it? Duh. Do I give a shit? Nope. So I'm in the everyone club. It's better than you, a person trying to convince a bunch of random people that you're unique. MY LATE-NIGHT ANGER HAS SPOKEN!!!

Also, USA > Canada. Canada gave us a horrible, horrible disease known as Bieber Fever and they cannot be forgiven.

Your whole post makes sense, however this part is unjustified. There are many reasons while one would want to roll a female character, not simply these two. Some like to look at females, that doesn't necessarily means they will fap to them or use them to flirt with other players. I, for instance, made my female character without planning it. I wanted to make a Shaman. Toying around with various looks with the male Draenei, I was then searching for a name that's not crappy, in the genre of "pwnu" or "arthasdkdkdkalol". Then, I started thinking about a recent game I played, with a character I liked. And there she was. This girl, well dressed, cool, couldn't say if she was the shit, or just plain old shit. Anyway she's fast, agressive, and packing heat. Check her out there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yq2XMX1x8j8. I,m not in love with her, she's a character. But the name was classic, easy to say, write, and remember. So, Margaaret the Shaman was born (Margaret was taken, and the double As in the middle gives it a draenic sound).

All this to say that, people make character that looks how they want, it doesn't represent their sexual orientations in any way. In fact, wow is quite the asexual game.

Anyhoo, anyone already knows everyone will have that mount and uniqueness is an illusion. We should rather discuss the social repercussions of a 800$ mount.

So, here's the new discussion: If the mount was sold for 800$, how would the bad players that seek uniqueness and coolness would react (rationalize) the fact that they just don't have the money for that mount? Would they accept their badness in IRL money making? Or would they just deny?

I'm also waiting for Snowy's answer to my answer to her post saying that donations made for a incentive are morally inferior. This will be interesting.
