Arena and RBG Conquest Change

The current reward now in 4.1 for winning an Arena match is 135 Conquest Points, and for Rated Battlegrounds it's 335 Conquest Points. We're currently evaluating these amounts as we believe they are potentially lower than they need to be, and we'll of course let you know if they need to be changed.

135/335 seems to be a nice value. No nee to change that.

Does it mean'that to cap at higher ratings like 2.2k you will need to win 20 arena games or 6 rbgs (cap is like 2700 at 2.2 for rbgs)?

Currently top teams play like 1 game per week and do the rest in Rated Battlegrounds.

The rage is going to be that people at high arena ratings actually have to play arena games now (and jeopardize their rating) instead of just sitting on it like a trophy. The second major point is the time commitment for a lot of people will be a lot higher. That's something they can address by increasing the number of points gained though.

I think I'll just have to do the dungeons to get vicous gear instead of trying to get 10 wins a week, that would be time consuming, 5 was fine, did it in an evening and left happy and had fun, 10 will feel a lot more like a grind as I'd still want/need to do them in one evening as I raid on the other nights or have RL stuff. At least I can convert my valor to conquest tho, but wonder if that goes towards the weekly cap? I guess it wouldn't but what about the valor cap? Suppose I'll see in a few hours when the EU servers come back.

    this is retarded.

Not the reduction, the fact that they're "testing it" on live servers?

Isn't that what the ptrs are for...?

Back when cataclysm was first introduced, i was one of the people who disliked the system of only requiring 5 games to get your conquest points for the week. however, now that i sit on a 2870 cap and have 2400+ teams, a 135 flat rate seems a bit out of hand. i hardly run rated bgs (most of my server is rather uncoordinated in pvp) so i rely on the arenas for points.. i just don't have the time to sit in 10 minute + queues for an arena at my MMR for more than 20 games. i do hope this number gets increased, otherwise anyone with a high cap is going to suffer without a solid rated bg team.

They could just increase the points for the wins in arena at the same ratio as the cap for higher rating teams. Feels like 10 wins is more appropriate then 5 to be honest though.

Actually it's that I don't have time every week to sit down for 6-8 hours to try and cap conquest points with 20-30 wins for 4 of my toons that I like to arena on. Some of us have lives where we don't actually get alot of time each week to play wow!

    It's more than 10 if you're over 1500.

Since when it's mandatory to hit the cap?

If you don't have the time and devotion to hit the cap, then who is there to blame?

Maybe for someone who can't even break 1500, 10 wins is a bit much, the old system was 10 games total on the team..so all you had to do was 3 games, and the team do 10.

Now, it's 10-23 Arenas or 4-9 RBG WINS to get capped. I'm 2700ish in 3s, if I was to play all 23 wins in 3s, with the 66% win rate we have, that's..34-35 games? It took us 69 games on this team to get to 2719, and I have to play half that each week just to get capped. Then let's look at my 2s. 95% win rate, 61 games to 2600. 24 games every week to cap there. Sweet. 69 games took around 8 hours when we farmed up. So 4 hours for 35 games.

Then RBGs, 9 RBGs, 75% win rate, 12 games, each game is like a 10+ min que time, and usually 15-30 minutes long. Let's just call the average around 30 minutes. Not counting making groups, finding replacements. That's 6 hours of RBGs.

    Pretty annoyed.

This makes a lot of sense, I hope people read it.

Actually, I see you stating that you don't like doing arenas (8 HOURS PER WEEK DOING NOTHING BUT ARENA, OH GOD, THAT'S MORE THAN AN HOUR PER DAY), while willing to obtain high-level PvP gear. This makes me want to question the reason why you are playing this game.
2200 isn't that high of a rating even on BG9. My holy paladin and I play casually over the week and it usually ends up being only one or two sessions, not nearly enough to warrant the 20-25 game requirement. Let us enjoy our arena and play as many games as we would like when we like and not be penalized.
