Definitely buying one since 100% of the proceeds are donation. Very proud of Blizzard and happy to help Japan out! ♥

I really do appreciate what Blizzard is doing, the 100% proceeds for 3 whole months is extremely generous, but it's very clear that Blizz was unwilling to share the profits of the Lion mount which will undoubtedly sell much more than the hatchling. It looks like it was designed in about a week, very sloppy model, if Blizzard wasn't giving all the profit away I'd pass on this.

lion mount will probably be what 25 dollars like the sparkle horse, by getting out this at 10 they can save themselves 15 dollars on every mount they will sell since they would have had to release the mounts with a donation because of all the out call for it on the forums.

So this is why the mount wasn't released with the rest of the patch =P sly as a fox blizzard

Very nice that they donate 100% as opposed to their usual lower percentage of the proceeds. Good going, Blizzard.

Like others have said I'm also kinda pissed that game developers in general do the whole $1 = €1/£1 thing, but as long as everything goes to a good cause, it's not like it really matters, eh.

Very smart. They knew plenty of kids would /cry when the lion mount was released without proceeds going to japan. So they released this rehash as a "shut the f- up" when the lion comes out with full profits going to Blizzard . I'm very happy with this decision, was afraid the japan factor would make more players choose to purchase the lion.

This model was already in the game, it was used as a TCG pet: http://www.wowhead.com/item=23713

And also for a quest in Howling Fjord where you find out that the Hippogryph isn't a male but a female and she has a nest with hatchlings: http://www.wowhead.com/quest=11418

I think it's adorable and have bought one for both of my accounts, it's nice to see the proceeds of this going to something worthwhile.

I have already purchased some of the other pets just because, I'm definitely willing to buy this one if it is for a good cause.

Then in the following weeks they will release flying lion mount for $20+ and keep all the profits for themselves!

The fact they are using a re-used skin for this and not the flying lion is beyond offensive imo.

OK, I don't mean to start a debate here, but I really feel it necessary to address this misconception.

The bombings that ended WWII does not magically negate the events of Pearl Harbor.

The dropping of the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was done to end a war and avoid countless millions more casualties on both sides if America had been forced to wage a full scale invasion of Japan. The approximately 200,000 deaths as a result of the bombings pale in comparison to the lower end of the estimates of deaths as a result of aforementioned invasion. There would likely have been well over 200,000 civilian deaths anyways, and many many more military deaths. The bombings resulted in a swift end to the war, Japan should be thankful to the United States for that in face of what the alternative would've been, a long drawn out defeat with many more deaths on both sides.

In summation, the attack on Pearl Harbor were mostly unprovoked and dragged America into the war, finally. The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were done to bring a swift end to a war that Japan instigated with the United States. The latter does not negate the former.

Now, about the pet, I must say that this was quite the surprise. It seems as a result the lion mount will not go to charity, but this is a good alternative. Personally, I feel the pet looks quite silly. I hope the funds raised are numerous in quantity and put to good use over in Japan.

Do Blizzard have access to market information that tells them Europe is happy to donate more money?

Or is it just plain laziness that they can't google "$10 in euro"?

bought it for me and some as a gift for in-game friends.
hope that the lion mount will be a charity too otherwise i won't buy it.

    $ 10 = € 6.7580

Although, a certain picture comes to mind, which helps me justify this..
