Cross-Realm Dungeon Feature Coming Soon

Today, we wanted to give you a heads up about a new feature currently in development that will allow players to invite Real ID friends of the same faction to a party regardless of the realm they play on, and then queue up for a 5-player regular or Heroic dungeon.

As this is a fairly complex service to develop, we don’t have a release date to share quite yet. It’s important to note that as with some of the other convenience- and connectivity-oriented features we offer, certain elements of the cross-realm Real ID party system will be premium-based, though only the player sending the invitations will need to have access to the premium service. We'll have more details to share with you as development progresses -- in the meantime, you may begin to see elements of the feature appear on the World of Warcraft PTR.

The idea that you can interact with real ID friends more then just chat is great! This would create many more hours of gameplay for me and all my friends.

This shouldn't come at a cost in my opinion, I've already paid hundreds of dollars transferring characters (18 transfers making that $450 on premium services) to and from servers to play with friends/communities and now i'm going to have to pay extra to play with my real life friends on other servers?

I understand cosmetic changes costing money but this is more of a gameplay mechanic that should be standard. There is less content in this expansion outside of raids when compared to the rest and the cost to play the game entirely (not including cosmetic) is going up over time? This isn't how it should be.

If this optional feature is any more then a few dollars on top of subscription fees, as a student, i'll probably make the decision to not use it as i try to balance fun vs cost in a diminishing game.

And on top of that, they employ the best in the business.

If you dont like that you have to pay for this, dont use it. If playing with your friends was so important, youd have swapped servers by now (and spent the money). If blizzard never posted this you would have nothing to bitch about, so pretend they didnt.
Given how strongly you feel about blizzard's operating expenses how much do you feel that Cataclysm cost to make? I say this because regardless of what number you come up with, it's your gut feeling that generated it, not an official source. That being said, I'm curious what you think that number might be.

Inflation. Growth. Maybe the 1500 other new features you didn't pay for? The only things that get cheaper are loyalty incentives, and clearly the incessant whiners on this forum are not deserving of those.

The number is irrelevant. From brainstorm to the next xpac, the expenses in time and resources blow the sales income out of the water.

Again, the core of my statement was that you cannot make the above assessment.

Oh but it is! I don't give a rats ass if you spent money to have a purple dragon or a green rabbit with a harness for a mount, couldn't give a fk if you bought a mini gnome, squirrel, can of carrots following you around as a pet. You spent money on having remote guild chat....lolz for you for being socially fail and wanting to gchat during the day.

But when I log on and chat to my old guild mates on Barthilas, co-workers on Dragonmaw and Nurzhul, current server mates and guild on Frostmourne...I am already annoyed I can't play with them!!! Have been for months!!!! Wanted nothing more to play with these guys across all our diff servers, and soon I'll have a carrot dangling in front of my face saying "oh but you finally can...for a fee"

Sorry but that sucks, and yes playing with friends cross server IS gameplay.

Then stfu if this doesn't effect you!!!

Also, little annoyed after playing WoW over the last 6 years, 7 paid char xfers, and 2 recruit a friends...to NOT be referred to as a 'premium customer'....that hurts.

Pretty standard response when you don't have a valid argument. Are they children too?

    New feature patch 4.3.
New raid boss that can be accesible only on HM without clearing normal mode and at any point ( without killing w/e number of bosses on normal, just straight to that HM boss ) that it's a bit faceroll , drops awesome loot, and can only be accesed by premium accounts.
New dungeons that can be unlocked by buying platinum pack with improved loot than normal raid system.
Instant battlegound queues for premium users, honor gain doubled. All premium accounts start on 2.2k MMR.
Trade chat is now only available to premium accounts.
You can only have 50 auctions at any given time on all 10 characters on one realm.Premium doesn't have a limit.
And many more soon (™)to come .

I dont need to know a mans weight to call him heavy. Pretending to know the number would be stupid, and anything i said would just be an arbitrary guess. All it takes is a little common sense.

lol. This is still going on? Entitlement, entitlement everywhere.

Nice addition. F*** the premium thing.

Would this affect my personal gameplay? Not at all, since all my friends play on my server (the only ones who were on another stopped playing).

Still making people pay for it is a retarded idea. I see this only as a test (like raids in WotLK that chaged lockout system between size/difficulty every patch) just to see which path is better to follow for the future.
Only a few people will pay for it? Not enough for use resouces on these kind of features.
Many people pay for it? Going the right way, doing more features with this system.

They milk the cow, but we continue to feed it.

Stop whinning you fools, blizzard have to make up for the 600k subscribers they lost. No one is forcing you to buy it.

It has everything to do with entitlement. If this announcement had never been made, people wouldn't be raising hell about ethics and how Blizzard is going downhill and blah blah blah. The only reason people are upset is because they want this feature and they can't have it unless they pay extra for it.

Your $15 doesn't entitle you to everything, sir.

Probably. Most adults realize that things cost money. You're paying for the best in the business.

I doubt many of you have ever done any programming or 3d art/animation, but it takes a lot of time. Time is the most expensive resource on the market, moreso when you employ the very best at their craft.

I dont see whats so hard to understand about that. Nowhere else int he world would people feel so entitled to optional features for free. World doesnt work that way.

Except it doesn't apply to this, costs of running server have become much cheaper over the years and such, and I thought the 1500 new features were covered by the SUBSCRIPTION FEE.
Right. So what about the other 2/3 of the argument? Nothing about this is mandatory. Evaluate its worth to you and pay it or dont, your experience will not change at all if you choose not to.

How hard is it for you people to get this?

15.00 per MONTH DOESN'T EQUAL FREE
