Cross-Realm Dungeon Feature Coming Soon

Today, we wanted to give you a heads up about a new feature currently in development that will allow players to invite Real ID friends of the same faction to a party regardless of the realm they play on, and then queue up for a 5-player regular or Heroic dungeon.

As this is a fairly complex service to develop, we don’t have a release date to share quite yet. It’s important to note that as with some of the other convenience- and connectivity-oriented features we offer, certain elements of the cross-realm Real ID party system will be premium-based, though only the player sending the invitations will need to have access to the premium service. We'll have more details to share with you as development progresses -- in the meantime, you may begin to see elements of the feature appear on the World of Warcraft PTR.

So they're not allowed to change their minds over three years later? Good thing they do, otherwise we wouldn't have LFD (don't act like it was better screaming for a mara run in /2 for hours), phasing, BC, LK...
While it's true that Blizz is allowed to change their minds, if a player agreed with this philosophy and Blizz "changes their minds" like you've said then the player is more than likely to get irritated and quit.

Maybe not to you. Works for me.

You all do also realize that they've weathered years of "I'M GONNA QUIT" and they realize all you whiners aren't really going to quit, right?

Then that's the risk they're willing to take...again, 95% of you people threatening to quit aren't going to.

That is true, alot of people won't quit. I, however can say with all honesty that I might quit if this is implemented, I mean if I wanted to pay for shit I should be able to use anyways I'd go play AQ Worlds or Dargonfable or Runescape. Especially since I got excited when I first saw this, my OS being Blood I was looking forward to tanking for my irl friends.

What you get out of microtransactions is kind of the same thing and I think our player base would feel betrayed by it. I think that's something else you have to decide on up-front instead of implementing later.

Easy. Playing with friends in no way gives you an edge over anybody, and neither does any other paid service. Never has, never will. There was no line crossed and there will be no such line crossed.

Nice one chaps... So your problem with my post is that I don't agree with Blizzard. GG.

Why should't I disagree with them on a discussion board where people are supposed to discuss things?

It could give you an edge, I mean idk about you but I'd rather que up with a good tank from my Real I.D than get some bad in a PUG. Better players=moar lewts=moar raidz.

Where it is mentioned that anything new beside the current features would be free?
And what define the "should be available"?
Shouldn't character transfer be free or not?
    If not why?
Every new updated doesn't let you log in if you don't scroll down the terms and agree with them, if you agree then you should not bitching about anything new if this is payable.

If it's about the moral side i can discuss it but based on the facts the dumbness of the vocal community on this matter has passed any known human boundary.

Feel free to disagree all you want...but when your point is that this "should" be included in your price, then yes, you don't agree with them, and they're the ones in charge. So to just say what "should" and shouldn't be included is relative, and unfortunately for you, there's only one RIGHT answer - theirs.

Just search Rob Pardo, Blizzard's Senior Vice President of Game Design (2/20/2008) its used quite a bit.
http://wow.joystiq.com/2008/02/20/gd...pproach-to-mm/ there is a interview with him and he says it there.

So by your logic, LFD should cost us money? Guild Finder should cost us money?
  1. kojinshugi's Avatar
Yeah, there's no way they can get away with charging for this.

It'll either be free or not exist at all.

By that logic, the Celestial Steed also is, because you don't have to buy a mount, and don't have to travel to get one, giving you more time and gold...seriously, they're both stupid arguments. Oh also, by your logic, being in a guild gives you an edge because you can find a tank quicker and blah blah blah...yes they're both stupid, it gives you no edge, nice try though.

I am willing to bet my boss' right arm that making this x-realms friends grouping work is a lot more complex that than mailing heirlooms. But Blizzard obviously have their own priorities, or they are paving the way for a premium x-realm mailing feature.
There's absolutely nothing complex about it. You can already be in a party with people from a different realm while not on the instance server.

Sure, it's some coding, but nothing but chat data gets stored on the different servers. Mailing items from one server to another involves database syncing between servers that might be in different datacenters.

Oh and by the way, just because Blizzard are the ones in charge of 'their' game, it doesn't make everything they do OK. I'd love to see the reaction if they let a press release out tomorrow saying the game would be shut down permanently in 30 days. You'd all go mental at them taking away 'your' game.

    And since when were you?

Since when are you the overlord of all ideas about deciding whether or not someone has the right to have an opinion on what should or should not be sub based?

And no, that is not what they've always done. They have had us pay for things outside the sub before. Things like...ooohhh...you know....expansions? Like, BC, WotLK, and Cata?

They haven't 'decided' a damn thing here, and they've changed their mind 100 times about 100 different things before.

Ya'll need to learn to turn your questions on yourselves.

they should have not used the word "premium" it's an evil word.premium mebers in other mmo's are the ones that pay extra for a better gamming experience. It' reflects badly on blizz and makes em sound like f2p mmo. They need to watch their words wisely lest they makes players start thinking this is animal farm and that "premium" players are more equal than other players.

Their answer is not the 'one right answer'.

You are allowed to believe someone is not right even if it is something they believe in or implement or whatever.

Minds were changed on other things, by the players, and it can happen again.

[QUOTE=Kragragh;11509200]1) you're not going to quit

    2) it's not their problem that you struggle to pay your $15 a month warcraft bill...then fine, don't pay the $5 a month extra for this. and you already pay for new content - they're called expansions

    3) having a tank to avoid a 20 minute queue is not "an edge" anymore than saying "mages have an edge because they can travel faster so everyone should get teleport"[COLOR="red"]

    1. You don't know me, I will. Saying what you think does not make it any less true. In any case, none of your business, I was just expressing my reaction on this.
    2. You did not read my post, I don't have troubles paying my sub, but I do know ppl who do.
    3. It is an edge cuz paying players can do more stuff than non-paying. Faster dungeon queue saves time -> less time gearing up or completing your weekly HCs. Class spells have nothing to do with this, no mage can complete his HCs simply cuz he is a mage. If they so much want to implement this and it to be payed, why don't they just raise the sub fee ? It will have no impact on balance then, except for the fact they will lose more customers.

Premium services suck. I really hope it doesn't go live, that would be so lame. <.<
