Void Storage and Transmogrifier - Patch 4.3 Teasing?
A teaser on the official Warcraft Facebook Page hints at two new types of NPCs coming in a future patch, most likely Patch 4.3: the Transmogrifier and Void Storage NPCs.

"Transmogrifier" seems to hint at a way to change the appearance of something, the first thing coming to my mind is either a way to change the look of your items (it was experimented in the past with things such as Darkspear Overcloak but dropped later). I guess it could also be a way to change facial/body features on characters.

The "Void Storage" is probably ... well, another kind of storage? Or a high-tech magic trash can.

Assuming this is remodeling do you think they would put level restrictions? I could see a lot of QQ from people complaining about people in 370+ iLevel epic gear making it look like they have meh blue gear(in PvP anyway). I personally wouldn't..but I am sure quite a few would.

Void Storage is means of transferring items through the void, to other characters on your account. Such as BoA's.

Transmogrifier is for changing the appearance of items.

More likely it would simply be disabled in PvP.

Last I checked, PvP can happen outside of those.

Too bad for your theory, it was distributed on official Blizzard channels.

Personally, I don't think weapons should be/will be included if this feature goes live. Just because of what you mentioned.

Some interesting ideas, but i think the transmogrifier is going to work something like this:

It may work somewhat like reforging, where the stats of one item are converted to those of a second item completely. So what ends up happening is you have one item that looks really cool but has crappy stats and a second item that has awesome stats but a crappy graphic, so, you basically get to convert the stats on the cool looking one to the stats of the crappy looking one.

As item models in WoW are basically like a single large sticker you wrap around a frame, I highly doubt you will be able to customize individual colors on a piece of armor. That would require re-creating every single item in the game with a different skin/model system. Swapping item stats back and worth is a more of a character database change that only changes numbers much like the current reforging system.

So in essence, it will be a complete stat reforger onto a different item model, but not a truly, fully customizable system.

My assumption is blizz will just disable this in BGs and Arena.

Actually, think about it; if everybody starts using Thunderfury and Warglaives with this, then suddenly, the in thing would be to use an unusual weapon, instead of something everybody else is already using. I mean, how often are people honestly impressed with Thunderfury and Warglaives anymore? It's no longer 'the cool thing' to throw them on for screenshots, and when people do, you tend to see ridicule for it.

Not saying I ridicule them necessarily, but that's just what the trends seem to be.

Transmogrifier... isnt that that gun thing from Calvin and Hobbes? The gun that changes you into whatever you want to look like OH MY GOD I CAN'T WAIT.

I never got this anyway. Do people really choose their targets based on the gear they wear? Isn't that kind of a puss thing to do?

Why wouldn't you? Kill the squishy healer. Kill the squishy caster. It only makes your victory more likely by taking them out.

Actually, that would be pretty cool. When you vendor/delete an item it goes here, like a recycle bin. It gets emptied out every now and then (like the mail system). This would cut back on the flood of customer service requests due to Hacking/accidental deletions.

You would just have to give back what you received for it (in the case of deletions/nothing).

I think a disable, enable check box would be enough to fix that little problem.

    as warlock yeah.
attack the warrior with the ruthless gear and 150k hp buffed or the warrior in green and blue questgear with 100k hp.
hmm maybe stupid example cuz i'll happly go 1v2 but most players will go for the bad geared one first.

if apperance of gear can be changed, i'd like to say welcome back to my lvl 1 lockrobe i started with.

Cross-realm storage will be HIGHLY unlikely.... theres a reason that they dont allow to much to transfer between servers. Cross-realm storage would throw all the server's economies haywire. Its either a cross-character (same realm) storage, that vanity slot deal, or the appereance storage.
