Firelands Raid Changes Incoming

Before patch 4.3 is released, we want groups who are working on Heroic-difficulty content to be able to get as close to Ragnaros as possible, and we want players who are tackling normal progression to be able to experience as many of the encounters as they can. To achieve these goals, we’ll be toning down the difficulty of both normal and Heroic raids through hotfixes in the coming weeks. In general, we plan to reduce health and damage of all raid bosses in both normal and Heroic Firelands by around the same percentage we brought difficulty down for the original Cataclysm raids when Rage of the Firelands (patch 4.2) was released.

We're looking forward to seeing more groups of players face off against the Fire Lord in the weeks ahead. However, before we make these changes, we want to give everyone a final shot at the bosses at their current difficulty level -- so this is a heads up that we’re planning to apply the difficulty hotfixes beginning the week of September 19.

Stay tuned to the Patch 4.2 Hotfixes blog for these and other live updates to the game as they happen.

Even though iv'e quit, my guild have been 6/7 HC for a few weeks now on 25 man.

My argument has, and always will be, where is the enjoyment in killing / working on something which is easy? When you nerf encounters so others can supposedly 'see the encounters', what you are in fact achieving is the opposite. People are not 'seeing' the encounters, they're seeing a boss which is stripped of difficulty, they're seeing a different boss.

I don't really see why it needs to be nerfed further, all it's doing is just diluting the experiance for everyone.

Ridiculous. We're only 10 weeks into the content. I'm going to be furious if they nerf Rag even more than they already did.

Please, I'm in a 5/7N guild but I'm sure we'd all like to play the raids with the correct gear at the correct difficulty.

    This sucks.

It has nothing to do with elitist QQ, they are very heavily nerfing a raid mid-tier. People are still progressing, it makes no sense.

It's way TOO SOON for more nerfs

if they do it like that u could keep every1 happy by adding a toggle swich like in icc

And this is another reason why I stopped raiding. Why put forth all your effort into raiding when all you have to do is wait for the next tier to come out and bam everything is easier? Now, if I ever have the yearning to raid again, I can hop into one of my guild's alt-10 mans and see firelands without spending hours at my computer.

While I dont really care what they do with the changes, it seems rather soon compared to how long they made the rep grind for the rings, theres stil aloooooooooooooot of people chugging away through that.

Honestly, this seems totally ridiculous without more context.

Why nerf even HEROICs even before 4.3 PTR is up?!?
If they indeed nerf them like they nerfed 4.1 normal modes, even terrible players will be running around in 391 gear.

I hope they don't actually mean they'll immediately nerf heroics to the ground, and that there is some deep reason, like that they want to tune 4.3 tighter, and decided they wanted less incoming gear variance to be able to do that.

And maybe it means 4.3 goes on PTR next week?

Yay! Love how all the "elite ppl" whine about it though.

Really Blizz? This is beyond ludicrous! It was hard enough to convince people that they had to know their class / spec and put the time and effort in to be prepared to raid and you do something like this so far ahead of the next patch. Now this gives those that don't care enough to prepare an excuse to walk in and look at the current content as free loot that they are entitled to.

Yeah and before I get flamed for being part of the dominant elite let it be know that I am in a so called casual guild and still feel this is a bad move. Seems like this just propagates / encourages terribad/ lazy players and their associated bad behavior and expectations. Thumbs down as this game is less fun everyday.

Same. I don't care if they nerf the other bosses, it'll make farm just easier (and more boring) for us, but if they touch Rag any more than they already did, I don't know if I'll be more angry or sad. We like a challenge, thank you very much, and people who don't can go back to ZA/ZG for all I'm concerned.

Wow... just... wow. And here we thought the rage was mighty with the ICC buffs. This will make the nerdrage hit FULL TILT levels. And deservedly so.
