World of Warcraft Magazine Canceled
Blizzard just sent a mail to all the subscribers of the World of Warcraft magazine. If you subscribed to the magazine, you can either ask for your money back or get a package of 6 companion pets in game, you might want to look into it now since you apparently only have 2 weeks to do so.

Here is the mail sent to subscribers, thanks to Ocnarian for his forum thread.

This has been a difficult decision to come to. Although both Blizzard Entertainment and Future US are very proud of the magazines that we have created together, we have each decided to focus our efforts on other areas.

We really appreciate your support for the magazine and would like to offer you a premium based on your remaining subscription term, or, if you prefer, a full refund of your remaining balance instead. To redeem your premium or request a refund, please visit www.worldofwarcraftthemagazine.com by September 30, 2011.

On the website, you'll need to input the following code to access your options:

[Code removed, obviously]

(Please be aware this code is non-transferable and can only be used once.)

Again, we would like to thank you for your continued support and hope you enjoy reading issue 5 as much as we enjoyed making it.

With thanks,
Future US and Blizzard Entertainment

Wind Shear
It's still a part of the plan and you'll find out more information once we get into discussing patch 4.3 class balance. I'm not really able to reveal any plans as of yet. Without any context the information I could provide would only lead to a slew of follow-up questions, which will be answered better in our upcoming announcements. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Tier 13 and Future Armor Art
There is only one objective truth about every single armor set we've ever made -- some people love, and some people hate, each of 'em. The art is completely subjective and your tastes reflect your viewpoint.

That said, our design philosophy for epic sets is not changing at all with the introduction of Transmogrification. We're still going to keep designing what we think is fitting and awesome for each class and tier. We want people to want to wear all of the major armor sets we release. In the future you'll just have the option of deciding what set fits you best aesthetically and adventuring to obtain it, without worrying about the stats. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Paypal and Diablo III Auction House
We're pleased to announce that in most regions, PayPal will be our payment-service partner for the Diablo III auction house, allowing players who trade with real-world currency the ability to cash out the spoils of their battle-torn adventures via a PayPal account.

PayPal will also soon be added in several regions as a payment option on Battle.net, providing another convenient and secure payment method for digital purchases of Blizzard products and services.

We’ll share region-related specifics, as well as further details on everything mentioned above, in the near future. Stay tuned! (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Oh man. I hope this means that Paladin teir will be based off of Inquisition.... and look like an epic Scarlet Crusade suit of armor.

Note that the original poster that the blue responded to mentioned restro shamans. It might be the case this only get nerfed for restro, which as much fun interrupting halfus or alyas's adds as restro is, I can see requiring a dps to do it making sense.

Only thing they can do to Wind Shear is put the CD on the same CD as all other interrupts, which is dumb, they should just buff everyone else interrupt if anything.

So to get a refund I have to send a hand written letter from the EU to the US ...really? Is it that hard to just refund on the paypal which I bought my sub with ?

I don't think that a pair of flashlights is fitting for top of mage head. Why not at least wear the goggles? I still need to confirm that the lights don't look good in game, but we will see.

Funny how they won't even say what they're doing to wind shear, yet everyone assumes the post about the rogue legendary is real.

Nerf resto shamans, frost mages and dks and the game might be balanced again pvp-wise. Dont nerf above classes and the game will continue to be faceroll-fotm-specs for gladiator. Interested in how 4.3 will be. Fail as usual or good for once

Because the mere existence of a single 6-second-CD interrupt isn't already OP in PvP. Nerfing it to a 10 second CD makes a lot more sense.

When the magazine started during wotlk, the magazine sales were doing great. Then left the swarms of people during cata when blizzard ruined this game. It's no wonder everyone cancelled their magazine subs.

Shame about the WoW Magazine though.
I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if they went with a Predator theme for the armor to make resemble the Camouflage ability.

Magazines currently out, generally speaking, cater to an older demographic or a primarily female audience. While it's a generalization, individuals who play are heavily involved in technology, play video games, tech savvy typically don't subscribe to magazines.

Walk down the magazine aisle of your grocery store and take a look - the magazines are geared for an older demographic or young female teenagers. The magazines geared for mid 20's-late 30's don't generally target gamers.

The problem with the magazine (and I was a subscriber from issue one) is that they didn't give any exclusive info in there. It would have been the perfect place for a few reveals, and putting some in there would have gotten it a lot more sales. Unfortunately, the last issue was about Firelands; it was FULL of great developer interviews about how they felt about Firelands and what was going to go into it and what kind of content you would have access to... but the issue wasn't released until AFTER the patch was. A bit of a wasted effort there.

The magazine was fine, and would have been awesome if developers decided to divulge that information EARLIER than it could be datamined and not long after.

They had two open positions for the Magazine a few months back too. Shame if anyone had to move out to San Fran for one of those spots.

Really quite angry about the mag, it's obvious this would happen since last year. First issue came out December 2009, paid for 4 issues, then by late 2010 they were asking for more money, and I don't even think issue 4 had been released. It's now September 2011, and they've only just managed to squeeze out issue 5.
