Patch 4.3 now available on the Background Downloader
In an effort to save my PM box from imploding, I had to do a breaking news to tell everyone that the Patch 4.3.0 is now available on the background downloader for both EU and US players.

It doesn't actually mean much, it just means that we reached the point where Blizzard is comfortable enough to release most of the static assets to the live client while they finish polishing the PTR one. There was no release candidate build on the test realms and I don't really see the patch happening right now, you can all calm down.

    Background downloader doesn't increase your ping, as far as i know.

    Well maybe not your ping but maybe your Internet network (iknw im not that good with english pc terms with internet shush :P)

    Relaunch it. It applys the updates to the tools, then starts the download the next time it's launched.

    Well this at least means the patch is indeed coming this year. Likely this month, even. Spine is now open for testing, and madness just needs to be tuned. Once that's done everything will be complete and then there just needs to be fine tuning done and we can launch it.

    What about Darkmoon Faire? Wasn't that supposed to be tested on the PTR too? No sign of that...

    well ptr version is 14942 and the predownload is 14946 so there is some space for dark moon faire testing in there(and maybe they want to keep it secret, to surprise everyone at once instead of giving it away with a test) and the current download seem to only be around 800 mb(atleasts its the combined size of the update-14946.mpqs in my wow folder) so i think it wont come next tuesday/wednesday

    I any case, it's a fact that for half a year we have only firelands to raid. Considering that the normal mode of the bosses was down after two weeks, it makes 6 months a damn long period of seeing the same stuff again and again...

    Usually when this happens it means that it's getting closer. I'm going to say a month and change. Sometime in December is my guess.
