(for the record, this isn't in the talent tree, it's in the list of Specialization abilities on the left of the screen)

But... all the other druid specs keep barkskin as it is, on a 1 min cooldown. For resto, you get a 2 min cooldown for the ability to be able to cast it on someone else. In the end, resto is getting a nerf to their personal cooldown. If I choose to use ironbark as a personal cooldown, I can't use it as often as before. If I choose to give it away, I lose it completely.

The choises need to have a meaning for the spec picking it. Thats why Blizzard needs to TOTALLY rethink this system and make every spec have diffent choises. This is maybe not needed for the pure specs of dps - but for the rest, specially the 3 role classes - this is a must.

    ---------- Post added 2011-11-23 at 08:29 PM ----------

I dont yell at spec today. I yell at the ppl that dont gem and enchant their gear. THAT is real problem. So before you go all crazy about giving ppl choises... maybe realise that those are not really hurting anyone - compared to dumbarses that dont even know what gems and enchants are... and get a way with it every day.

First tier of holy tree as paladin has EVERY SINGLE talent point very viable for playing the game. There is one cockie cutter - but its still gives ppl more choises like now when dungeon runs are becoming a joke. Then I take more dps talents and do a 5-7 k dps instead of standing and doing notihing most of the time.

If I had more choises I would probably spend even fewer on healing talents cause I simply do not need it anymore. Still Im forced to use a "cockie cutter build" that I have no need for in that content.

Secondly - THere are no real choises in many of the new tiers. First tier for palas are all mobility - It doesn't matter wich one you take cause they lead all to the same thing. Same in tier 2 that is CC. In third you get dmg reduction.

So... 3 whole tiers of 9 choises and what am I left with as holy paladin ? 1 speeding talent that gives no benefit to my role. I get a CC ability that helps big fat zero. And I get a tanking ability that again ... does nothing. Those are 3 whole tiers of 45 levels that do absolutly ZERO for a whole spec of certain class playing PVE content. Now.. How brilliant new talent system is that?
Well it's quite brilliant and exactly what the game misses imho.
The tiers in the new talent system each represent a utility role, like movement improvement damage reduction bonus attack. It makes no sense to to give a healing spec 6 tiers of healing utilities. In this case a tank spec would get 6 tiers of tank abilities, a damage spec need 6 tiers of damage utilities, this would erase the whole aspects of utility and making the talents avaliable for every spec.

It's just that you don't like the philosophy and ideas behind the new system, the system itself seems consistent for now.

So it looks like Disc Priests can no longer Atonement heal. That was actually quite fun, running with my wife, helping her kill stuff and keeping both of us healed at the same time...actually that might be why they took it out. But Disc is not just about healing or shields. It's also about killing stuff. Evangelism is Disc's biggest nudge toward killing things. That being said, they need to take out the Dark Evangelism part because Mind Flay is Shadow only and Evangelism is Disc only. And Shadow's Vampiric Embrace is now a level 90 talent? Kinda lame, in my opinion, but now available to Holy and Disc (replacing Atonement presumably), so it's less lame.

They don't have Prayer of healing listed either (under both Disc and Holy). No idea how atonement is going to work out. I remember them saying a while back in a blue post that Disc was going to get a casted shield that stacks with PW:S. So if we do actually get that it will be neat to see how it works out. From the description for Disc vs Holy I think Disc is going back to tank healing/single target and Holy is gonna be the group healer for priests now. Which to me makes sense.

I think everyone should stop speculating on druid Symbiosis. The tooltip doesn't have nearly enough information to even guess on how it will really work. This spell could end up being really cool or really useless. Until Blizz provides more details on how it really works, any discussion about it is pointless.

So the talents we used to have are given to everyone, and the talent trees have been shortened (again), dumbed down and made, in a word, boring. Blizzard's big idea about getting away from the cookie cutter was to all but completely remove talents from the game? The cookie cutter will still be here. Not only that, but the talents we've been left with (if you can call them that) are just poor. Now I'm a SV hunter and I personally loved the weird and wonderful way talents worked in WotLK. All the 'pointless' talents Blizz got rid of were what made me enjoy my class. God knows what possessed them when they started all this. So then, patch 5: Classes balanced? No. Talents perfected? No. Game fun to play again? Mmmno. If anyone needs me I'll be on Rift, where talents are actually fun and classes are balanced andeveryone's happy.

You're way late to the party or you are just very uninformed. Most of the "must have" talents were baked into our abilities according to your class/spec since everyone had to take them anyways to be any good. They didn't just completely remove all the talents. What possessed them? The players. This is the feedback Blizz got regarding old talents from the general community. Have fun in rift.

Personally, I think the reason so many people are also pissed off about the talents, is because its rewarding being able to spend your talents when you level up, in the next exp, leveling is going to be far more dreary, especially from 1-90. However, I do think the new trees brings more variation, but I just dont want it to feel like every level you gain means nothing, i mean a few spells you learn here and there is good and all, but still less rewarding. Btw, druids Tree of Life, lasts until you shapeshift out? Or still only for a short period of time?

I doubt the community wanted this. Sorry. Not buying it. Blizzard can say whatever it wants but without proof, it's meaningless. So yeah, I'll be going to SWTOR. Warcraft has changed for the worse...

Yeah right man its a shame your quick to judge but whatever. cant wait to see this expansion top the rest. i have a little theory, there was so much hype about cata and now thats its out negativity strikes. now people are judging MoP waaay to fast and being negative about it which means its probably going to be good

All these new abilities, most of which sound cool, and rogues are given something they already have in a renamed package? Neat... =\

I actually posted on wowhead years ago about this, but one of my favorite things to do back then was to enslave the abyssals at the isle of quel danas, and then move them over to the 'friendly' area and use ites passive aoe dot to kill the afk'ers. Best part is, the guards wouldnt aggro. Sometimes players would attack it and the guards would 3 shot them.

    Good times.

i play a pve hunter and pve dk tank and both of my talents talent trees still seem pretty cookiecutter. i mean as a dk tank you would want to pick outbreak bone shield and vampiric blood for sure that only leaves you with 3 unique choices (the dks only have 6 of the choices Atm) hunters have a bit more of a choice but most of them dont seem useful in raids. maybe the MoP raids will be a whole lot different

Lots of pve nerfs, a shitload of pvp based talents and changed abilities - that will be a poor addon for pve players.

Because leveling was hard to begin with, right? Everybody knows from the start what build they want to use and allocate points accordingly, also the talent trees were pointless since 1 combination of talents was the best and nobody used the rest.

Now they have baked the talent trees and the specialization into one, and gave you the option to choose a new spell/ability every 15 levels. How is removing a practically superfluous system and presenting you with real choices during leveling is dumbing down?
