Diablo 3 - Meteor Runestone Effects

Update: Blizzard posted an official statement on the LFR exploit bans.

PvP Season 11 Begins
This season brings new gear and Alizabal, the new Baradin Hold boss. Keep in mind that all ratings will be reset and higher item level honor gear will be added. Any honor that you have over the 4,000 cap will be converted to gold.

Her transfer to Baradin Hold prior to the Cataclysm has only aggravated the ruined prison's increasingly dire conditions.

Skewer
Alizabal skewers and stuns her current target for 8 sec. Skewer also inflicts 10000 Physical damage every 2 sec. and increases the target's damage taken by 150%.

Seething Hate
Alizabal incites Seething Hate in a random player, inflicting 600000 total Fire damage to all players within 6 yards of the target. The damage is split amongst all of the nearby players.

Blade Dance
Alizabal enters a Blade Dance and inflicts 12500 Physical damage every sec. to every player within 13 yards. The Blade Dance also deflects all incoming attacks.

How were they "trying to justify" anything? "Trying to justify" would mean that they tried to dodge the blaim, where as they actually gave a full apology for abusing a bug, and would accept any penalty. Kudos to Paragon for taking it that way I'd say.

The problem here is that LFR is "exploitable" even under the rules they state are fair. What you do is take a 24 saved people to your run, and one who isn't saved. Then, the one toon that isn't saved gets all the loot for all the bosses. This is not simply faster than the exploits that were being used, as if a tier piece for your class didn't drop, you didn't get it that week.

Another stupid move by blizzard, dont release a damn patch if its not fully fixed, ofc all the guilds knew what they were doing but blizzard can try to fix everything before releasing a patch.

To something different, any livestreams for the new hcs from US guilds that wasn't banned?

Grow up. It's impossible to fix everything. Sure Blizzard is at fault for missing the bug, but many guilds are at fault for exploiting it. Taking advantage of an exploit is against the rules, no matter what.

People are welcome to cheat the system all they want. But if they get caught they damn well better be prepared to face the consequences. These bans were completely justified.
    This, a thousand times this.

They cheated, got caught and now have to face the consequences. A bug in the game is blizzards fault, but that doesn't give player a free pass to cheat and abuse as they please.

Also, a 3-8 day ban is pretty weak. I was more expecting a 2 week or 1 month ban. The fact that all these fanboys are crying like crazy baffles me.

Given that the bosses in Baradin Hold can be considered to be 'PvP'-bosses, there is no reason for them to require crazy PvE-skills. The best you can get out of these bosses are a few normal tier set items, which are worth fairly little in the long run.

Considering it's actually impossible to catch and fix every bug on the PTR or on their internal systems before putting them out on live servers...what you're saying is you never want another patch to be released.

You likely won't see an 'Official' announcement, since they do not discuss things such as bug(s) used/punishments meted out with anyone but the recipients.

I totally and completely agree. 100%!!

I mean Blizzard should have expected to get exploited. They should even be grateful that they were, given that the guilds involved are that skilled and popular.

Maybe if they don't want to get "exploited" next time, they will wear clothes that aren't so revealing and sexy.

    Wait...what?

I always hate how blizzard punishes players for their own shortcomings. Instead of banning people for "exploiting" a bug, why not just fix the bug? If I logged in after a patch one day and my crusader strike was hitting for 500k, should I be banned for playing the game and killing monsters with it? Sorry Blizzard but take some responsibility for your own screwups instead of punishing players.

They knew about it, multiple ppl even sent them tickets on live realm about it, weeks ahead of launch. They never bothered, they should be burned, not the exploitees.

I don't ever remember reading that if you participate in a boss, you are locked regardless of whether or not you roll. It's also pretty ridiculous that if you roll on the Chaos orb at the end, you get locked. All around, there is absolutely no benefit to doing raid finder more than once a week.
The intent is one chance at loot per boss.

The reason you can do it multiple times at all is to combat this scenario:

    1. Queue for LFR
    2. Pop into LFR on the last boss, because someone quit after getting loot they needed/group wiped repeatedly/etc.
    3. Do the last boss and be unable to even get one attempt at earlier bosses due to now being locked to the raid.

    Now it's:
    1. Queue for LFR
    2. Pop into LFR at the last boss
    3. Win.
    4. Queue for LFR
    5. Pop into LFR at the first boss
    6. Drop after you've done the boss(es) you need.

That said, it's currently possible to randomly end up in an LFR that has nothing up you're not already locked to.

Personally, it'd be nice if all raids worked this way -- we had to play musical raiders on a Firelands run to finish off some legendaries because two people were already locked to Shannox, thus ineligible to join the raid until we downed Shannox on alts.

You keep them but they shouldn't count towards the season total needed for weapons/armor. Not really positive though, but when I checked in the week all the Honor I got still counted for last season's total.

I'm so impressed that Blizzard followed through and banned the accounts. If you're in these top guilds and it cost you progression on the last tier of the expansion, then justice has been served. Especially considering the sponsorship and perks these players get, they're somewhat of a role model and cheating isn't acceptable.

There are lots of bugs in every patch and there's no way people are going to find them all. And even if someone finds a bug, it may not get fixed because there are higher priority bugs to be fixed. Yes, this bug is bad, but at the same time, it didn't affect people's gameplay directly.
