With the speed at which a Raid Finder group moves through a zone, we’ve found that it makes it challenging for players to evaluate loot decisions – by class restricting these items, we hope that the natural behavior will have a more positive set of results for everyone involved. This change will not apply to normal or heroic raid or dungeon loot rules.

Raid Finder and Need Plus are both very new systems, and we’re working to iterate on these systems rapidly to ensure that everyone has the best possible experience as we learn more about how players are using the system. Please keep in mind that this system is not considered complete and we have further plans to improve upon it within Mists of Pandaria.

If you looted an item from Looking for Raid which replaced another and you need Game Master assistance to recover your old item, please place a petition with the new item name, that you can no longer use it - and the old item name you need restored. So people are being douches and hitting need on everything they can because they're killing stuff just so fast that they can't stop and look to see if it has the correct stats for their class in the 3 seconds before the next boss encounter starts.

    I see.

OT: It's a huge step in the right direction, this fix took ONE coder MAYBE 15 minutes to implement. Should have been in before launch. The spec related items will take a bit longer obviously.

Pathetic state of the lfr playerbase you mean. It's nothing about the game. More the epic dollar-signs in your average player in said game.

This comes too late for me. No'Kaled taken by a paladin and customer service was horrendous when I tried to get it restored to me. This is even after the paladin admitting to not needing it. All they did was give me the same excuse...when I re-opened to further inquire I got a copy paste. The item sucked but the customer service killed it for me...after playing since Vanilla. TOR came just in time. Still sucks though because now my account will be in bad standing after refusing payments due to the annual pass.

Interesting, Not like a Frost dk can't use a two hander instead of two one handers ? if its a dps upgrade its an upgrade. I would much rather respec into using a two hand weapon over using my crappy 378's.

Is it considered as tanking weapon or dps weapon? Because honestly draining hp is more for tanks, BUT last week some dps won the roll WITH role bonus in LFR.
    I am confused, any ideas?
Those weapons are BIS for DW frost dks just so you know.
Not sure why blizzard does things like this but ya. They are BIS

It really doesn't fix the issues that personally cause me grief (enh/feral rolling on spell dps items) - while it does improve things, partial fixes scare me, because they seem to become the longterm fix.

If they want this to be a proper part of the progression cycle, spec AND role-based restrictions are pretty much features that should have been done before it went out the door, not in the next expac.

If it is meant more as an interactive movie to see the content, it doesn't really matter if it drops dancing pixies. But as things stand, it has upgrades over the former heroic tier, so it should be handled properly.

Souldrinker is a tank weapon despite dps having been able to roll on it with the bonus. Blizzard was just late to the game in getting these restrictions live, considering I've lost three Souldrinkers on two tanks, two to rogues and one to a death knight.

These restrictions should have been in place before 4.3 even went live, and should be applied to LFD.
Did you read ? If you look its class specific to Dk, Pally, and Warriors. No Do is going to tank with it. So as a dps Dk we will get a roll bonus on it just how it is.

Ledger of Revolting Rituals is better than Timepiece of the Bronze Flight, simply because of that red socket and its bonus. Taking that into account as well as the +40 int enchant for both, the off-hand gives 310 intellect versus the shield's 280. So that's a difference of 30 intellect, unless you choose to use the JC-only version in which case the difference would be even greater. Yeah, I want the off-hand for my shaman since the loss of 14 haste rating and 8 spirit doesn't mean anything.

Edit: For purposes of clarification, I did not assume use of the epic +50 int gem since its not very prevalent. I used the rare +40 int gem for the math.

UPDATE: I've been informed that the shield has been hot-fixed. It now offers a gem socket (with some slight adjustments in the stats) and so the off-hand is no longer desired.

I wasnt aware Boss drops were obtainable through VP/JP.

Also the drops are randomised in the bag, so you get something for your class, but it could be something you already won. The point is you get something guaranteed to salvage for credits etc. In WoW mostly all you get is jipped (as in get sweet F all).

Just as you might get loot in your bag that you already have in SWToR, your VP/JP can be spent on something you may want, if you dont need anything you can buy crafting mats etc. I'm not having a go at ya, just stating you still are rewarded its not as black and white as you make out

I have to say I was a bit disappointed when all paladins, all warriors, all druids and all Death Knights got a +100 in a tanking trinket. If me and the other guy tanking, a druid, are the ones tanking, we should be the ones only getting the +100. Samewise, I shouldn't get a +100 in DPS trinkets, in example. I think they intend to fix this in MOP.

Too bad. That's the way the cookie crumbles. You get the shield, we get the offhand. We've gotten the short end of the stick before with your shields, and now it's your turn.

I would also like to point out that using the JC gem doesn't change anything, because you can only use 3 of them regardless of where you put them. So whether you have the offhand's socket or not, you're still getting the same extra int from those 3 gems.

Did LFR 3 times on my resto shaman. Each time lost mail items ( not tier ) with spirit to enhance shamans - 3 items today, 2 last week and 2 first week. Each time to enhance shaman. Thanks i have good guild and we are starting to do heroics - so gear is not a problem to me, however it is very frustrating when someone rolls on something that they should not have.

I can't believe Blizz screwed up and/or didn think the loot system better for LFR. This is the main reason pugs fail and sometimes why people quit guilds or cause guild drama because of the almighty loot. Still this change going to class specific like people have said is still far short. You can still role if its not your main spec....weak.

Great. Souldrinker restricted for those 3 classes. Problem you wont get souldrinker on dk until you're tanking. From what i remember got no bonus when was dpsing in contrast to prots.

Some items were recently reclassified. You may find yourself in possession of one of these items and are no longer able to use it.

If this item replaced another and you need Game Master assistance to recover your old item, tough, please consider this punishment for ninja'ing the item off someone who could use it in the first place.

    Fix'd

As a mage trying to get any gear from LFR, its painfull, I been going there full run from start and never won a single piece , since there is around 10+ people always rolling on those pieces I can use. I t would be ok i guess if I had a chance to still have loot chances if I could go again and roll on gear, but as soon we killed one boss that boss cant be looted again that week... We are 17 dps in a LFR and most of us roll on same gear, just look 5 classes can use same in rdps and 3 classes in tank classes, even rogue have a piece purely for him. Less people for a role get most there , while those most needed (17) get way lower loot chances... Well just my thoughts from my wiev

This is a very bad idea since people may want to gear off specs, and guaranteed drops break the game.

I get the feeling that Blizzard can never make people happy. All the QQ for fixing a minor problem. It makes me laugh. Blizzard didn't have to do this. If you have problems with people ninjaing gear, vote kick them, or start a raid team. Crying because you aren't getting your gear as fast as you want is funny. I applaud Blizz for addressing the issue.

Have you ever considered that maybe as a DK you want to play Unholy but you don't have a 2h so you are forced to play Frost. Then a 2h sword drops in LFR. Shouldn't u be allowed to have an equal chance to win it as others who can use it? Same thing could be said about ferals rolling for balance-gear or elemental shamans rolling for agility gear - perhaps you are not playing your mainspec in the LFR-grp.How the expertise-ring from Hagara can be flagged for hunters however is just weird.
