Mists of Pandaria Raid Sneak Peek - Mogu'shan Vaults, Heart of Fear, Terrace of Endless Spring
It's time to bring back the good old MMO-Champion spirit and post actual news! Today we have a mini sneak peek of the 3 raids introduced in Mists of Pandaria! You probably also noticed that I've been releasing a couple of teasers on our social networks, now might be the best time to join us if you haven't done that yet!

Important - Those are very early versions of the raids, previewed through unofficial means. This is absolutely not representative of the final version, it's just a preview.

You just killed an elf! Bad person! Work in progress! Learn what it means!

First time posting on MMO, feels great! Have a question for you guys: do you think that there will be an additional BH/WG-style raid for PvP gear?

Terrace looks like a joke. Yes I know it's not final, but the main concept seems there. I just see a road with 3 platforms. How creative.

    P.S. I'm glad I killed an elf.

Mogu Vaults and Terrace look fine. My only issue is Heart of Fear. Anyone think that's gonna be a little claustrophobic to 25m/LFR raid in? The roof is so short and none of the 'boss areas' look big enough for anything other than a 10m raid.

If you look at most raids prior to Firelands, they all took place in relatively small spaces. I like this feeling. It feels like you're really progressing deeper and deeper into a cavernous dungeon, and hence feels more like a "raid". BoT/BWD felt great for this expansion, but Firelands just felt like a giant space with a bunch of zoo animals randomly spread out in it. Dragon Soul isn't even in one consistent location. I am personally very pleased they're bringing back the old fortress/dungeon style raiding, and I don't think space will be an issue.

I dont see what you're talking about.

Zero raids look as claustrophobic as HoF.

    Naxx? No
    MC? No
    SWP? No
    BT? No
    Ulduar? No
    ICC? No
    Even T11 was more open.

It seems they need to raise the roof 10 feet and widen the halls about 5 feet.

The design is cool, don't get me wrong, but I don't see how a 25m raid will be able to, um, spread out. Imagine one of the encounters everyone has to spread 5 ft from each other. I don't see a single room in there the side that would accommodate that. You need a room the size of BQL (ICC) or more, and I just don't see anything in that place letting you spread out in there.

The other raids are awesome, Terrace looks like another 2 boss raid like ToT4W and Gruuls, imo. Vaults is easily the biggest. My guess is Vaults has 8, Heart has 4, Terrace has 2, which gives 14.

And, I am proud to kill elves. As long as they're from Silvermoon.

Oh boy... I forgot I can kill elves if I QQ about this. I really hate elves, so here I go:

THESE DUNGEONS SUCK! ITS JUST FILLED WITH CHILDISH PANDA'S AND SOME INSECTS I CRUSH THOUSANDS OF THEM ON A DAILY DAY! WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE TEAM WHO WORKED ON ULDUAR? WHY CAN'T THEY JUST MAKE BIGGER DUNGEONS WITH ALL THE MONEY BLIZZARD GETS? GREEDY F*CKS!

So how many elves did I kill?

i wonder if the mogushan map means there'll be two different "end" bosses. Would be cool if you only had to fight one in normal mode ( the other one fleeing upon his brother's death) and both in heroic. maybe even make the death of both in heroic being the trigger to access to the heroic only "sinestra-like" boss for t14. Having extra bosses would do wonders for heroic gear, since there's plenty of other wais to get normal mode equivalent loot (even without valor there's still acheology, reputations, crafting), but only boss drops for heroic gear... One can always dream i guess ^_^

I was under the impression that the boss breakdown was 6 in one raid, 4 in the second, and 2 in the third, exactly like the first tier of Cataclysm (not counting Synestra). The two world bosses bring the total to 14.

The artwork is exquisite. The areas however, are so terribly small. Some of the grand rooms look like they might fit 5 people comfortably (not the 25 you will bring or the 50 students you might imagine to have once lived there). Even the hallways look like they can barely fit two people side-by-side in them. I like what they have done with it, but they really need to increase the scale of everything.

I was farming Botanica for tailor patterns yesterday, then found myself on here checking out the new videos. That dungeon is a re-skinned Botanica. The floors, the walls and even the archway designs are re-hash with some new texture on top to mask them. To me, it's about the encounters more than the setting, but it does seem rather lazy.

Looks pretty cool, but imo i don't care so much what the place looks like - only on how fast i can kill the bosses and progress :P

Those places look very cool. Can't wait to see them at their final state.

I hate to be the one to say this, and I appreciate I'm dicing with elf death, but I'll be disappointed if these aren't representative of the final product; they look immense.

Not seeing a character to scale in those instances is probably what's making people think they're small. But it's hard to tell exactly how big the features are without some kind of reference. Anywho, I think they look really good. I like the karazhan-esque vaults, aq-esque heart, and throne of the 4 winds-esque terrace reminding us of how older raids were laid out, while giving it a new setting and unique character.

Not final means they are going to add more polish and maybe some environmental stuff (props) to the areas that are finished and add textures and whatever else to the areas that aren't done yet.
