Mists of Pandaria Cinematic Trailer

This is a downgrade in quality from Blizzard.... seriously I'm not complaining about the movie itself but from the way it is constructed - compare graphics quality with other intro cinematics .... I'm disappointed..

What is this....I don't even....The graphics quality is sooooo much...you know what, it's not even worth it.

I am actually interested to hear how the "graphics quality" isn't up to par for you.

That's...that's the definition of subjective.

Wasn't going to buy the game. But upon watching the cinematic, I preordered it. It reminds me of the very first Cinematic I saw for this game. Where they showcase a few of the races. I laughed when the Human handed his wooden stake to the Orc. Chen's too badass, I guess.

The same people when they would've been @ gamescom to watch the thing for the 1st time live: "OMFG AWESOME"

I like how people complain and threaten to cancel subs. (they say the will quit but we will see them in MoP playing with what they call kiddy pandas)

Overall i like this trailer. It could have incorporated a bit more of the new stuff. But this explains the panda theme quite okay. The comic notes is a nice addition.

Was the Pandaren an unexpected event for you in the MOP trailer? Bonus point for guessing the P in MOP.

As Blizzard has already admitted, their AGE demographic has changed.
They are indeed marketing WoW towards young children and continuing to simplify the UI.

I don't see it.

Giving the game a broader appeal is not the same as marketing it to young children.

The game is, and always has been, a Teen rated game. Their target demographic is teens. Just because you now fall out of that category doesn't mean they've changed anything...it means you've changed...maaaan.

Oh no, the cinematic did not meet my expectations, proving beyond a doubt that the game is over and nobody will ever play it again because the quality of the game is directly tied to enjoyment of the cinematic. RIP WoW.

Joking aside, I thought the trailer was awesome. The people who are commenting negatively on what happened in the trailer seem to be missing the whole point of it. Go back to the very beginning: why do the humans and orcs fight? When did it all start and what was the reason for it? After all this time do they really have an actual legitimate reason for continuing the war? IMO they still fight because neither side wants to admit that all the bloodshed and violence has essentially been for nothing.

So we have this trailer. First of all, the human and orc immediately start hunting each other and when they find each other it's back to the fighting! Then suddenly they're broken up by a creature they've never seen before. Rather than trying to figure out what it is and why it stopped them fighting they immediately try to smash it. No interaction, no attempt at understanding. Humans and orcs have always been united in their common inability to tolerate anything that isn't themselves or something they can take advantage of to further their own goals. Even within the Alliance and Horde the races are only together because it's convenient for them to be. Each alliance of races is tenuous at best and we've seen countless times how easy it is to make them crumble.

And to people who said humour has no place in Warcraft, have you even PLAYED one of the games that came before WoW? Do me a favour: play Warcraft 3 and click on any unit more than once. Any unit at all. Your choice. Seriously. If you can find a single one that doesn't have a line of funny dialogue, I'll give you a cookie.

I liked it. I will still buy MOP and play. Who cares if it was a lil corny at times....mixes things up a lil.

Is it just me or are the "PUT THE WAR BACK IN WARCRAFT HURRDURRHURR" comments are starting to grate a little. What do you think we've been doing all this time against every baddie who decided to threaten Azeroth? Picnics and book clubs? Just because the Alliance doesn't have the time to properly kick you Horde dogs to the curb doesn't mean we aren't doing it to everyone else /trollface.

Well whatever, I thought the cinematic was pretty great. I've said that the best way to combat WoW's stagnation is to do something completely crazy and it looks like Blizzard have that covered. I'm not sure why the attempts at humour are getting so much hate considering WoW has had a heavy comedic feel to it since the very beginning but I've long ago given up trying to figure out what goes through the minds of the WoW playerbase.

Not just you. Actually the whole community has gotten on my nerves. It's never about fun anymore.

In terms of video quality - the best cinematic yet. Story was decent (better the Cataclysm and Classic - not at big a thrill as Burning Crusade or Lich King).

Only problem I see is that it failed, once again, to feature Gnomes!

I was hoping after taking a break from the game the trailer might reawaken my interest in WoW, but i think after watching that I'm less interested than ever.

1000x better than the Cataclysm one. Not so good as the WotLK one.

But my faith on MoP has been restored.
