Blizzard Trademarks "Warlords of Draenor" - WoW Expansion
Blizzard just trademarked "Warlords of Draenor" in New Zealand. It was then registered in Australia shortly after.

  • Computer game software, computer game discs, downloadable computer game software, computer game software downloadable from a global computer network, interactive multimedia computer game program; downloadable electronic game software for use on portable electronic devices such as mobile and cellular phones, laptops, handheld computers, and tablet PCs.
  • Entertainment services, namely, providing on-line computer games; providing on-line non-downloadable computer games that may be accessed via a global computer network; providing online news and information in the field of computer games.

It's also worth mentioning that warlordsofdraenor.com was registered a month ago.

I do realize that we had a lot of fun times with trademarks in the past (*cough* Dark Below *cough*) but let's just say that on a personal level I'm pretty confident about this one. I'll leave the speculation up to you guys until Blizzcon.

It could work in theory - but for the 10th anniversary it's a risk. People are expecting something big.
Who the F cares about anniversaries!?

You either want to play, or you do not want to play, whatever it is they put forth. Good, or not good, that's all that matters. Pretty sure no one will say "This xpacsounds like lots of fun, but I still don't want to resub or buy the expansion, because WoW has it's anniversary and for me to play something on it's anniversary, it has to be super mega ultra cool, otherwise I'd rather go play last year's GTA".

    Ah crap, Outland, fail.
Burning Legion and Sargeras would have been great, even N'Zoth and Azshara in Nazjatar, would have been more interesting.
Draenor aka Outland biggest fail in WoW history.. more recycling.
Back to the orangespacemonkeysuits and weird colored trees and rocks.
Well i guess it's skip expansion time and hopefully the last one can be played without doing this piece of "time travel".
Elder Scrolls online here i come, thankfully that next plan is already put in motion.
Well i guess we'll see it in a week if it's two MMOs or just one to praise.

It's really sad how people are quick to judge over a title of an expansion without seeing context.

Orcs = Warlords that comes from Draenor? No? An Orc expansion? Not another one...
Actually Warlords SOUNDS like an Orcish thing, being that the horde and their Orcs are lead by a Warchief, but many races are governed by warlords, or hold to some as figures of power, like the Naga. For all we know, there could be Broken, that have become warlords of an unknown chunk of Draenor, along side some Orcish ones. Hell, it might even mean demonic warlords ruling over some factions of broken and orcs and it has a lot less to revolve around orcish politics.

Is this like "set-in-stone" the next expansion?
Or are we all just still speculating over a few scraps of, what might be, information?

Or it could be referencing the Burning Legion's demonic leaders since they were the *Warlords* over the Orcs corrupting them.

    Good old MMO-Champion community logic

That's kind of what I meant in the last sentence, but a bit objectively (because it could be lesser demons in the beginning, with more to do with the higher ups as the expansion progresses).

That's quick to judge Elder Scrolls series have been around longer then WoW. And imo is just about as popular as the Warcraft series itself.
It would definitely be an MMO that I would play alongside WoW.

But OT, people should really calm down here. It's like the same shit with Pandaren all over again, people been asking it for years, now they got all the sudden they're pissed. Not understanding the logic. The way I see let's wait for Blizzcon before making any snap judgement.

People don't want to fight essentially the same villain twice in a row. Also a time travel expansion where you already know what the outcome and story is before it even starts could get boring fast and I highly doubt they would let history be changed much, that would simply break the game too much and make the story an utter mess.
100% agree with this. Aside from the fact I hate the whole time travel BS, having the plot be "OK, you spent an expansion hating Garrosh, now you have to go back in time and kill his dad too, who is pretty much identical, brwarharahar!!!" make zero sense.

My first hope is that the time travel /Grom stuff is a very successful trolling.
My second hope is that even if it has some thruth in it, at least it will probably just be a raid, perhaps the first raid tier, while the main expansion is set in present day previously-unvisited fragments of Draenor, or "Outland Extended".

WoW can survive an idiotic time travel concept confined to a raid instance. We've done that before.

An entire expansion of time travel? No.

It's a safe bet, but no not an "official set in stone" thing. All we have to go by is that there aren't any other trademarks (that haven't been proven, or are obviously, fake). This is as close as we can guess.

I love how half of this thread ISN'T about the name, most of the complaints I see are based on time travel, which is fair enough, not everyone likes time travel (I don't) you don't need to see gameplay, concept art, etc. to decide that you don't like the theme or general direction of the story.

And that time-travel has only been speculation, so much hate for something that has only been potentially a leap in logic due to the reference of Grom. The more I think about it, a cavern of time dungeon or raid featuring Grom's story makes more sense than an entire expansion revolving around time-travel.

Everyone needs to accept that the next expansion is The Dark Below.

If we go into the past, I really hope they remove flying mounts completely and forever from the new area. Hate me as you wish, but questing was so much better with ground mounts, and actually seeing other people travel along side you, stopping and doing stuff with them, instead of land, fly, land, kill, fly, land...........

Hate my comment if you wish, but flying mounts in general made this game worse imo.

    No, it wasn't.

Guess we'll see it next week meant, i'll give it a benefit of a doubt.

Pre-judging based on my own preference, regardless of gameplay or context.
Explanation, I don't like shit happening in space. Monsters, antagonists and allies can be as imaginative as they like,
my deal breaker is the geography. Azeroth has Earth like geography as has Tamriel, Outland does not.
Just an opinion on a hasty comment without explanation.
