Blizzard Trademarks "Warlords of Draenor" - WoW Expansion
Blizzard just trademarked "Warlords of Draenor" in New Zealand. It was then registered in Australia shortly after.

  • Computer game software, computer game discs, downloadable computer game software, computer game software downloadable from a global computer network, interactive multimedia computer game program; downloadable electronic game software for use on portable electronic devices such as mobile and cellular phones, laptops, handheld computers, and tablet PCs.
  • Entertainment services, namely, providing on-line computer games; providing on-line non-downloadable computer games that may be accessed via a global computer network; providing online news and information in the field of computer games.

It's also worth mentioning that warlordsofdraenor.com was registered a month ago.

I do realize that we had a lot of fun times with trademarks in the past (*cough* Dark Below *cough*) but let's just say that on a personal level I'm pretty confident about this one. I'll leave the speculation up to you guys until Blizzcon.

This almost falls in line with a theory I've had since the Wrathion quest chain. If you actually watch the beginning of the quest, when he shows Azeroth, it is raining Demonic Fire while discussing how we need to prepare for the coming storm. From Wowpedia: "There is no current additional activity of the Burning Legion in Mists of Pandaria, however the words of Wrathion suggests that the Horde and Alliance will have to unite to fight a greater foe that will come from beyond Azeroth. The image that he displays while saying this, shows Azeroth under bombardment by balls of green and yellow fire, highly suggestive of the iconic meteors of the Infernals. Though this is not official as of yet, it is highly suggestive that the Burning Legion may invade again." Perhaps they have been using Draenor as a staging area for their pending assault?

Draenor aka Outland biggest fail in WoW history.. more recycling.
Back to the orangespacemonkeysuits and weird colored trees and rocks.
Well i guess it's skip expansion time and hopefully the last one can be played without doing this piece of "time travel".
Elder Scrolls online here i come, thankfully that next plan is already put in motion.
Well i guess we'll see it in a week if it's two MMOs or just one to praise.
Assume much? Do you do this with everything you hear about, judging it long before you even know what it will be like?

I notice on maps of pre-destroyed Draenor, there are two locations there that aren't a part of outland that could be explored. The area that belongs to the Warsong clan (go figure, Garroshs/Groms clan), and Deathwing's Lair. They could easily have something to do with this expansion. Also, from all the images I've seen, is only a close up of the outland landmass. Not the whole world of Draenor.

It's been mentioned a couple of times, by Blizzard, that Outlands needs a reboot. It doesn't make a story cohesive. Starting a toon is like this, you are in the current timeline, jump to the past for Outlands, then into the past again for Northrend, then BACK into present with Cata and MOP.

It doesn't flow like Cata into MOP does, and you can bet your ass they are going to revamp that shit sooner or later.
They've also said that the revamp of 1-60 wasn't worth the effort. And if even that wasn't worth it, a revamp of an almost redundant level range makes zero change. (Redundant because with the increased levelling spead, meaning we only skim about 25% of the zones/quests of any given level range before moving on, they could simply say that Outland 60-70 is optional and just adjust the level range of any other zone in Azeroth (increasing it) or Northrend (lowering let's say Howling Fjord to 60-65 and Grizzly Hills to 65-70). This would probably take only 10% of the amount of time a full (and pointless) revamp of Outland for the sake of 60-70 would be.

I think Outland 60-70 will stay as it is, more like an artefact and subject of nostalgia for the TBC generation. It costs nothing for them to leave it as it is, but it costs a ton to revamp it. For no obvious benefit.

As for recycling some of the lands of Outland, through phasing, that's a different matter, and quite possible to happen for an Outland/Draenor expansion (while still leaving the old 60-70 phase intact).

the whole world of Draenor is gone, as a concept of a whole world, but yes, I agree that there are lots of possibilities for various fragments still being unexplored out of the former Draenor floating around nearby, and which we could visit as a "new" continent.

I imagine Metzen sitting in front of his 'puter, take a sip of coffee on a Monday morning, browsing fan sites and thinking deep what to do this week, what villains to resurrect and so forth, then somewhat absentmindedly clicking on a GoDaddy banner, and "boy oh boy, I should probably register some potential xpac names, just in case, then I'll go for a bagel in the cafeteria. Awesome start of the week."

They are already using godaddy on some domains, so I dont see why it's strange that they use it on one more.

I think the URL reservation part of this news article is the hoax. Since when did Blizz reserve an entire domain name for their expansion? Normally they just put all the information on their main website. Perhaps the person who noticed this copyright is the one who reserved the URL for future use? Also, lot's of people have been known to reserve domain names so they can sell the rights later on and this seems like a pretty obvious attempt at that since it's unlikely that Blizz would use GoDaddy to reserve a domain...

I don't think the website is bought by Blizzard, go to www.theburningcrusade.com www.cataclysm.com www.wrathofthelichking.com or www.mistsofpandaria.com and none of them are official.

But it still doesn't debunk Warlords of Draenor as the next expansion.

For people just getting here let me sum up most of this thread:

"OMG GUYS IF THEY ADD [ANYTHING, EVERYTHING, NOTHING] ITS SUCKS AND IM GOING TO TAKE MY TOYS AND GO HOME! HAHA SUCKERS"

I still love the game, still going to play it, still going to laugh at all the whiners...

Warlords of Draenor realistically sounds like a guild name.... hence the website buy a month ago. and then a "leak" on this site with the same name that some random probably saw and was like "hmmm imma have fun on the forums today" and then someone else picked up on it and registered it as blizzard ala "Dark Below" style

but who knows. i could be eating my words next week

I don't know but to me this does not seem right they built up Vol'jin, Jaina, Lor'thamar, Anduin and Varian over an entire expansion just to have them be like oh well Outlands 2.0 THE WARLORDS EDITION (TM). I feel like this is alot of lost story line potential just to bring back the "FEELS" in my opinion The Dark Below is a much more logical lead into the legion. Think about this Jaina brings Kul'Tiras back into the fold, Vol'jin enlightens us in his knowledge of the trolls and could have some insight into Zandalar and the Zandalari and Lor'thamar being of high elf decent and by that extension highborn could have some knowledge about Queen Azshara and her people. I Don't know but this lore line seems a lot more elegant and thought out compared to the return to outlands. That's just my two cents.

Huh... Well this is interesting... Going to revamped Outland? Another piece of Draenor? Time Travel? What warlords? Orcs? Orgres? Mok'nathal? Naga? Illidan? Legion?

I have no idea! Doesn't indicate anything in particular leading to Old Gods, Azshara or Legion. So yay, oblivious'ness! So excited for next week! ^^

I really think it's a Hearthstone booster pack that you will be able to buy in-game (remember that the game is F2P but you'll be able to buy cards and booster packs, right ?), Hearthstone cards are about characters, and this title is about characters (Warlords), so I think it would make much more sense.

Well Outland was huge before it was destroyed. If we go back there pre-explosion that would be epic. But if they re-skinned Outland via Cata style that would be good as well. Its win win for Blizz imo.

first patch -> go to revamped Outland where is some corrupt Drandei group gone wild. a Drandei raid (yay slaying goats).
second patch -> a reintroduction of Halaa with a raid focused Time Travel, some bosses from the past. Illidan anyone?
third patch -> Legion returns full time, some world event in a style of what we seen with SoO and Vol'jin. some world quests, scenarios and a Legion themed raid.

my wild guess how its gonna be.

I just really hope there is a new class. I'm really looking forward to playing a new class (preferably ranged).

I guess some of you didn't pay attention to the last part of the Legendary quest line. When Wrathion mentions the return of the Burning Legion. So I am not surprised about the return to Outland or something similar to a COT Draenor
