Blizzard Trademarks "Warlords of Draenor" - WoW Expansion
Blizzard just trademarked "Warlords of Draenor" in New Zealand. It was then registered in Australia shortly after.

  • Computer game software, computer game discs, downloadable computer game software, computer game software downloadable from a global computer network, interactive multimedia computer game program; downloadable electronic game software for use on portable electronic devices such as mobile and cellular phones, laptops, handheld computers, and tablet PCs.
  • Entertainment services, namely, providing on-line computer games; providing on-line non-downloadable computer games that may be accessed via a global computer network; providing online news and information in the field of computer games.

It's also worth mentioning that warlordsofdraenor.com was registered a month ago.

I do realize that we had a lot of fun times with trademarks in the past (*cough* Dark Below *cough*) but let's just say that on a personal level I'm pretty confident about this one. I'll leave the speculation up to you guys until Blizzcon.

I have to agree. While I do like fighting against orcs and the like as in TBC, another Orc as the big bad kinda seems lame (more so that it was the previous expack's big bads daddy).

I can see it kind of working, but it would be tough to make the fight interesting and different enough to be enjoyable.

    What? Draenor screams Horde? Sure.

In any case, I am feeling my excitement level rising already! This means we will probably see more of the Draenei (which was far overdue) and we'll get in touch with the Burning Legion once more! =D Fuck yeah!

Though this leaves little room for a possible race expansion. It also leaves less room for a new class, although Demon Hunter is possible or perhaps something unexpected. It could also mean we finally get our updated shiny new models together with broader race customization (possibly sub-races).

    Can't wait that's for sure! ;D

What happened to this "Big Thread" people talk about? Anyone who can PM a link or image?

So why don't we just do a total cop-out and time travel back to when Sargeras was born, strangle his baby-self, and save countless worlds? Time travel is boring; either we are protecting the current time-lines from harm (been there, done that FAR too many times already), we are visiting the future (Dragon Soul, need I say more), or we are exploring some alternate timeway. In all cases, none of our actions can have any effect on "our" timeline without breaking it beyond comprehension, not to mention making every heroic act committed up unto this point in the story an absolute moot point (Oh, you saved the world from the Lich King? Why, when we can go in the magic portal and kill him as an infant or avert his fall/corruption?)

Because much things could happen much worse. You aren't really thinking things through about Time Travel. Assuming it's even about that.

I think the Warlords refer to the leaders of the various Orc Clans. Perhaps the story's aim in this is to unite the clans against the legion before they can be corrupted.

Exactly. So anything we do in some alternate time line must be by definition a moot point, as changing anything from the original course breaks everything in the time line we know now.

Not necessarily. Doing one thing could cause something else to happen that even a small small change could change the original timeline and what not. Yeah we kind of cheated with Dragon Soul but essentially the point is:

    DON'T FUCK WITH TIME!!!!

Not really, Draenor is a good occasion to introduce ogres as a playable race (Horde?) and maybe demon hunter as new hero class.
That way we're left with the same problem from 2006 - who could be the new Alliance race. Broken (+ more dreanei lore)?

On the other hand, I for one am still (foolishly most likely) hoping for a new Warcraft RTS "Warlords of Draenor" would make for some awesome campaigns.

I'd like to see a revamp of Outland and the many scattered unused Portals take us to new areas.

I dont think you get it yet: I'm agreeing with you, and you with me. Messing with time is a horrible idea, both realistically and for an expansion. If, indeed, the expansion revolves around time travel.

I think I like the dark below better if I had a choice between the two titles. My first thought of "Warlords of Draenor" is "Draenor had Warlords"? Who knew!

I'd prefer a faction of Ethereals for Alliance.
