WoW Up to 7.8 Million Subscribers

Has anything happened to account for this? I don't understand. The game naturally suffers a dip at the end of an expansion. An increase in subscribers is confusing.

I thought it'd be slightly down myself but happy it's up. Game can't thrive without people so the more the merrier.....even mouth breathers.

Can't be true, you see less people on servers but more subs? WTF?

I knew it'd be up. Yay WoW and the countless hours it sucks from us.

it's called pre-expansion. people come back.

tbh idc about subs but SoO even made my realm to get queues...

I have to say this is disappointing.

Every time I see Blizzard lose subscribers, it gives me a small glimmer of hope that they'll realize their mistakes.
I hate MoP with a burning passion because every aspect of the game that I used to enjoy, is now horrible and clunky.

But I guess the players like myself are dying off in WOW while the casuals and new generation take over.

'-' Wut. I mean I'm not a doomsayer by any stretch I believe in just going about your business and enjoying the game, but this...I did not expect this, I expected a fairly realistic drop of about 50k-200k Sub drop.

...Well. GG Blizzard.

It would be intriguing to know what is the reason why WoW has gained more subs.
