Character Level Boost to 90 priced at $60
The US servers went back online after the maintenance and for a few minutes people could access the interface to upgrade their character. Unless announced otherwise by Blizzard, upgrading your character to level 90 will cost you $60 on live servers.

Thanks to Zheo for the screenshot!

Luckily we get the free one when we get the CE of WoD. That is too expensive though. Blizzard this is retarded.

Am I the only one who doesn't have this listed in the shop? Not that I would pay $60 to get an instant 90 but I just don't see it in the shop at all.

They will earn soooo much money from all wow addicts. Most of the ppl playing will throw 60 dollars for that.
your not coming back because of this? ok? I don't understand. seriously can someone help me out?

It has to be at least over $45. It would make no sense to go below this. It also can't ever go above $60 because that's the cost of a brand new console game.

Why does it have to be $45 minimum? Let's take a look:
    -Retail version cost: $20.00
-Transfer to main account cost: $25.00
    -Game time to trial: $15.00
-Bonus game time to main account: ($15.00) <-- means it is being subtracted from the cost

    Total: $45.00

If you want the mount (which only goes to one character) then:
-Add 1 month of game time to new acc: $15.00
-Reduce by value of mount/pet: ($10.00) <-- subtracted

    Total w/ Mount: $50.00

Why did I only give a value of $10.00 to the mount? I did this because they are not account bound (like the $25.00 mounts) and can only be used on the character you learn it on. Also, because you can choose between these mounts or a pet - where every pet has a value of $10.00 - these mounts must also have a value of $10.00

And what if you don't give the mount/pet you choose any value? Well, wouldn't you know it! This raises the cost to get the mount by $10!
    $50.00 + $10.00 = $60.00

    --> $60.00 <--

    ..--==>>))]] $60.00 [[((<<==--..
So not only is it the same cost, it saves you all that time and hassle of leveling, transferring, and using 3rd party programs to play multiple toons.

Personally speaking, I have already ceased subscribing to WOW and I will not return to this game until the releasing of WoD. To me blizzard has managed to balance its venue by increasing microtransactions such as providing boosting service which is somehow short-sighted. I may move to ESO since that there is a long way ahead before WoD comes into touch.

    - So. The limit he would pay is $5-10. He didn't know the price beforehand, but has now listed what he thinks is a fair price.
You are incorrect. This means his LIMIT was $5-10, not that he thought it was a fair price. He might think $25 is a fair price but still have a limit of $5-10.

Maybe Blizzard let that "accidentally" show in the last maintenance to see how people would react to the price. If they don't see too many threads complaining they'll just let it be $60. Could be a clever marketing trick on their part, maybe more post asking for a reduced cost, regardless if you think it's fair price or not. It's not like we the consumer shouldn't ask for a better price and all. I always wait for sales or do comparison shopping before spending my hard earned cash. my 2cents and all.

Blizzard should sell an in game throne for maybe.. 1000$

It comes with a full set of best in slot gear for your class. and from that point on any upgrade is automatically mailed to you. you also get every mount and achievement. Think of the time we'll save playing this game. Then we can just sit on our thrones in our gear and talk about how much time we saved. WoW is the best game ever!

    Time is money homies.

    Time. Is. Money.

Once this trend starts, there is no end...

Blizzard bans those gold farmers, power leveling sellers, claim they are illegal and ruining the game. But for what?

So that finally Blizzard itself can do exactly the same thing and sell the same service for money?

What is next? Blizzard sells in game gold for real money? sells gear for money? with a price based on item level?

And of course fanboys will always tell you: it is optional, don't like it? don't buy it!

If y'all really want to make a statement as to how incensed you are....cancel. Cost them as much money as you possibly can. Ravage their bottom line. That's the only way they will listen.

I find the price tag perfectly reasonable.

    a) You will already pay 40-60$ for the next expansion, which will include ONE free boost to 90.
    b) If you are already playing this game, you either have only 1 toon and enjoy it very much, this service does not apply to you.
    c) You already have 2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 alts leveled to 90 and love leveling, thus this service does not apply to you.
    d) You are a lazy yet bored person, you will pay 60$ for a lvl90 that will stay afk hours and hours to come in a major city.

This whole slippery slope argument is so tired. Games evolve. I don''t want to go through a week of /played time just to play an alt with friends. I pay 60 dollars. That isn't fanboism, that's enjoyment.

$60? No way! That's insane! If the game went free to play then sure I can maybe justify $40 or $50, but $60? You have to be kidding. What a joke! We already pay a sub fee!

I'm not normally one to call Blizz money hungry pigs but this is pushing it. They already charge insane prices for character transfers that is a completely automated process. Not happy Jan!

60$ for something that can be done in about a week while also having a job and a semblance of a personal life if you focus.

Only people with money to spend and kids that manage to get their hands on mommy or daddy's credit card will be getting this.. 60$ is the general price of a popular game upon release, the price is absolutely absurd.
