Update (Jun 4 Hotfix): Queuing for a non-random Normal Scenario now awards 30 Justice Points on completion (down from 70 Justice Points).

It looks like the alpha is finally here!


  • As shown above, new character models can be disabled.
  • Currently only Frostfire Ridge is open for testing.
  • The Grinning Reaver and Warforged Nightmare have been added to in the game shop. Keep in mind that items can be added to the shop just for testing purposes.

UI Improvements

  • The Dungeon Journal now includes short overviews of the fight for each role, which should help players that don't know the fights.
  • The Key Binding UI has also been improved to a tabbed list rather than a very long list you have to scroll through.
  • You are now able to manage addons in game without having to log out. The Simple Addon Control or Addon Control Panel addons will do the same thing now.
  • The mount UI now supports marking mounts as favorites and summoning a random favorite mount. It also makes mounts red when they are unusable in the current area and shows a source.
  • The world map now becomes translucent while moving.
  • The Toybox UI has been added and a basic list of items is in place.
  • Bags now have an autosort and basic options to go along with it.











Object and NPC Outlines
Quest objects and NPCs now have outlines when selected or needed for a quest, making them easier to see. This replaces the old sparkles that were used for quest objects previously. Outlines can be disabled or only set on quest related entities.

    Still haven't gotten my Enchanted Fey Dragon and Brew Pup back yet from that patch, so why do I care about beta/alpha?
    I am having my doubts every-time, and I expect a October, November release for Warlords.
    Blizzard if you want people to enjoy your game, get better customer service people, and let people decide on what they want to get, and let them get a chance to get the pets in game, until you remove them completely.
    Well anyway still I am still a Warcraft, but I wish you could more.

    4 days after wildstar, people were playing and streaming since May 30th. Bliz wants those streamers back

    Probably them being busy making sure the hotfixes went smoothly.

    For this early phase of alpha testing, we’re focusing on the Horde experience in Frostfire Ridge, a harsh land of ceaseless winter and volcanic peaks. You’ll need to create a new character (only Horde is available, at least for now); we’ll give it some gear and level it to 90, and then you’ll be on your way!     This foolish argument again? I mean the notion that maybe they are opening up the testing a bit now is due to it being ready is out of the question? Or the fact that even if they purposely avoided every release of every 'rival' game they'd never be able to do anything? Of course not.

    No. The complaint is that they knew wildstar was releasing, so they would release something at the same time to keep interest in wow. They withheld the alpha until a day after wildstar, unless you really believe that they coincidentally had alpha ready within 24 hours of the release of it's biggest modern rival.
