Update: The Warforged Nightmare is now on the shop site!

Warforged Nightmare - Available Now In-Game Through the Shop
It looks like the Warforged Nightmare isn't available on the website yet, but it appears to be live in game in the US. This mount costs $30, which is $5 more than the usual $25 price.

Using the item that comes in the mail will give you the Nightmarish Hitching Post, which can be used to gain a buff that makes all of your mounts look like the Warforged Nightmare for the next 20 minutes.

9 months of not a single piece of content, except a store mount that costs more than all expansions up to MOP itself.

I'd say that's a pretty amazingly massive middle finger at everyone who plays, and pays for, the game.

They made this mount 5 dollars more then the normal mount-price . (30 instead 25 )

That mean they expect to sell 20% less then usual , so they compensate through price. For every player left the forum heroes come here and say " you won't be missed".

But when enough will leave , you will start feeling it directly on your credit card , cause you must be milked harder by Blizzard . Same for the price of the new expansion. Now with 20% more expensive as usual .

But you keep on buying those mounts, I am sure they will keep making them for you. I am also sure they will see if they cant get you to shill out more and more money for them.
"That's on you"...lol, again it's a 13+ game. Shady as fuck to me would be if they did something criminal, not simply a company trying to make as much revenue as possible from their products.

I'mma keep being happy with the game and hopefully with the store items they make, if I stop being happy with the product in such a way that I wouldn't feel like paying for it all, then I'd quit...and guess what, you wouldn't see me out here acting as if what I did was a major political stand. ;d.

Depends on how touchy people are I suppose, AND whether or not that person has something else he/she does besides playing this game. 9 months of pause in content hasn't dampened my fun though, I frankly doubt I'll manage to get all the stuff I want to do done before WoD hits. Middle finger to you? Perhaps...not to me though. The expansion will come when it comes...and 2 months later, people will again be moaning on forums about how Devs spend time on doing everything but releasing new content that THEY want.

Pretty ignorant statement considering the mount is OPTIONAL. You dont have to buy it if you dont want to. Get a life.

The hitching post is actually a great idea. Letting people try before they buy is always good. Charging an extra $5 for it isn't, though.

With the extra money they make from this can they hire some more artists and model designers to implement some of the thing players have been requesting but told they can't have because of time constraints and 'it would cost a raid tier'.

MICROtransactions, Blizzard, MICRO. Make them cheap enough that people impulse buy, not sit down and plan out the pros and cons against their disposable cash. That's the whole point of microtransactions.

Well at least they're keeping true to the fine tradition of TRH and add only darn-ugly rip-off mounts to the shop. The real cuties are still available for free inside the game.

The worst came with the Sparklepony though, it seems to have mellowed out but it sparks up with every new store item. Some people even taking it upon themselves to bully people in-game seen riding/wearing store items.
So, I guess those Iphone games made for kids, that has in game purchases isn't morally skewed at all. Oh okay.

Oh look, Blizzard has it's hand out for more money, despite this being the biggest content drought in the game's history!

And it costs $5 more! Just like this upcoming expansion will cost us $10 more and right after the EU has had a price increase on nearly every character service across the board.

They missed an opportunity to implement this mount into the game and make it obtainable by actually playing the game. But nah, that might have cut into WoD development time or cost us another raid tier, because it's not like $14.99 a month for the past 10 months with zero new content counts for anything.

Considering the that current Alpha testing consists of a single zone, one faction and two levels, you can bet on this content drought stretching on for at least another 4-5 months. So in the end, the $30 mount makes sense - they've got to make up for the loss of people dropping from the game due to Blizzard's complete mismanagement of time and resources.

The fact that they actually made a commercial for the mount makes it all the more pathetic.

Everything in the game is "optional". Your point is completely moot.

How about Blizzard starts to charge for "content outside LFR" - let's say Heroic raids are now 10€ extra per month. Ability to wear epics now 5€ extra per month. More bank slots? 10€ per bank slot, 50€ for guild slot..

    The sky is the limit.

This would have made an awesome Blacksmithing built mount! But Blizz wouldn't make any money from its customers that way, you're ONLY paying for the game and a monthly subscription.
    Indeed. /sigh

Wht does age have to do with anything? My little cousin accidentally spent 100 dollars on an Iphone app game because they have these micro transactions.

And 100, is minimal compared to stories ive heard

$30 bucks for a mount is laughable. So this mount almost the same value as an expansion pack.

Have you ever noticed these store mounts and pets are seemingly always released on the last month of the business quarter, to beef up their earnings report...CASH INFUSION!

i can't believe that people are so worked over by 5$, at least the ramble about releasing store mounts instead of content has some logic, but a riot over 5$? get a grip

People should be getting these mounts for staying subscribed through the most embarrassing content drought the game has ever seen.

I actually think this mount means great things for WoW's visuals.

I made a video explaining why the Warforged Nightmare means epic things for WoW Visuals, but the gist is this:
    - Imagine everyone mounting up and charging forward in battlegrounds or outside the raid portal.
    - Now imagine the store helm (a new one) has an on-use effect to give you a transmog (head to feet).
    - Say that transmog is "Defender of the Alliance" with silver and blues and lions, and something appropriate for the Horde.
    - Now imagine that the hitching post is a statue with that transmog.
    - Click the statue and you get that temporary transmog.
    - Now you're all wearing the same armor, on the same mount = epic (optional) visual.
    - Tabards could be improved, because in the same armor and mount, what differentiates is gender, species, and guild.
    - The visual gestalt of a united front, even just the five-man version seen in the video, gives me a spine tingle, which I think is a good thing.

this is getting sad now , pumping store mount every month instead of content , releasing "technical alphas" so people can "test" fully functional store...
