I have to admit, this movie made me feel guilty about agreeing with other people who have been and myself being somewhat hard on Chris Metzen at times.... You can see in this movie that the guy is just a nerd at heart who wants to make awesome games that he and other people want to play. Sorry Chris, and thanks to you and all of the other developers/artists/everybody at Blizzard who makes WoW happen, I can't imagine life without this game, and I absolutely can't wait til Thursday!

A lot of you guys might really enjoy this podcast from a few months ago:

It's very interesting and touching, and gives a lot of insight into Metzen, Blizzard, and WoW itself.

Loved the documentary. Really wished they wouldnt have skimmed over Cata and MoP but they were running out of time and had to include WoD.

I loved the documentary. It was pretty cool to see where the game came from.
molten core was extremely simple compared to nowadays raids, the environment is just a cave and most of the mobs inside are just the same you can see outside but on steroids; ill bet that just doing the garrosh fight alone had taken them more than a week and probably 2 month to build all the rest and if a raid like molten core so simple and plain looking will be released today the sheer amount of rage will be unbearable.

When the 10th anniversary was approaching I always hoped they'd make this documentary. It was brilliant. I think they found just the right balance really and it could probably have gone on easily for another hour. Some quite emotional moments too.. Chris Metzen in particular just seems to get the feels going.

Absolutely beautiful, it really is hard to believe that it has been 10 years. All the memories and experiences that we have all shared in this time is amazing and I can only hope that Blizzard continues to craft this game with the same love and soul that they have clearly poured into it already. I won't lie, some tears did come to my eyes from time-to-time whilst watching this - really very touching.

And was anyone else REALLY creeped out by the observation room? That's straight up NSA behavior and a total invasion of player privacy. Who knows where Blizz sells their info.
    youre trying too hard buddy

I had fun watching it. I generally love all kinds of behind-the-scenes-stuff. I love seeing the artists with their multiple screens and tablets, watching interviews with the composers, hear the designers talk about stuff, seeing the spaces where the people work and all that. It's inspiring. It's also nice to see all these different walks of people, all those players and how they share a common enthusiasm.

Quite frankly, I'm embarrassed. This being the primary game I grew up with, I've taken it more seriously than one should take a video game. Glad they made this doc, it was illuminating.
i kinda agree, to an extent. i mean, our anger comes from being passionate about the game as well. it's out of concern for the game that we sometimes lose our cool, so i think it's understandable.

anyway, it was a great movie. i love it when i can hear some history about my favorite subject ever.
