Garrison Campaign Quests Active
Garrison Campaign quests are now active and the one you get each week appears to be random.

One option you may get is from Khadgar's Servant in your garrison, which sends you to Shadowmoon Valley for a short quest chain that rewards Sargerei Disguise (which is not a Toy).

It's as high as it was when MoP was released, so it might just bounce back and forth between 7-10 million subs from now on.

Of course it's going to shoot up at an expansion launch.

Expected nothing less, the lost subs were just dying to get out of pandaland and SoO did not help.

Unlike most ppl here I waited almost a week before logging in, fully expecting constant DCs and lag. Plus I had no vacation time lmao. This expansion is worthy so far, I love it. Fuck you MoP and RIP in peace you disgusting joke panda race, may you forever rot. All is forgotten, all is forgiven.

I rly hope Blizz pulled the story off in this one, cuz fucking orcs omg....

At least pvp has been salvaged from the depths of shithole MoP and is very much enjoyable again thank GOD... sucked having to exclusively pve.

10/10 would fuck gnome females lel

    Best? Absolutely not.
It's better than MoP and Catalysm. Far from best. I farmed full PvP gear within 12 hours, and I have nothing to do at the moment. I do understand that the season hasn't yet started, however it doesn't justify me having nothing to do. Running BGs, the same BGs I've done since Vanilla? Fun.. To a degree. Ashran? First the couple of days, not so much anymore.

That is sooo awesome!!! Big grats Blizzard. Such a great way to shut up all the naesayers who keep talking about subscriber loss as "proof" that Blizzard has destroyed WoW!!!

I was really surprised by this bump. Well done, Blizzard!
These numbers might show that WoD probably got some veteran players back besides new players, and that Pandaland was not that very well received by the playerbase. Good riddance, MoP. I won't miss you one bit. Now go and sit in the corner with Cataclysm.

It's funny cause so many people said "wow would barely reach 8 mill if they are lucky" wow is almost AGAIN at it's peak.. if they keep expansions like this ( cause this is an amazing expansion like damn ) it will get back up there.. from 6 mill to 10 mill is crazy!

If you play mainly a pve game, where most of the content every xpac release is pve related, then ofc there is bound to be a gap in stuff that you can do...

But pvp has never been about content for me, its been about the interesting arena matches :P I fully wish there was NO gear except cosmetic rewards from pvp, just basic sets with different stats, kind of like GW2 did it. I love PvP, but I also dislike the fact that gear matters over skill, not so much now, but later in an expansion this always becomes the standard, but with the removal of pvp power and resilience, I hope this will start to become a non-issue :P

Also to people comparing it to MoP launch... Seriously? Read the damn thing, with Cataclysm we went from 12m to 9m, then jumped to 10m with MoP, then during mop it dropped down to 6.8m!!!, and then during a few MONTHS, it spiked back up to 10m!!... For a 10 year old game, that is beyond amazing, blizzard pulled in more players in a few months than most new MMOs hope for their final sub/player base to end up at ... Haha, seriously stop hating, WoD is amazing, and has certainly the potential to be the best xpac yet, I can clearly see that they pulled back a lot of old devs into WoW, because the quality is back to TBC/WotLK levels

WOW! I expected an increase, but not that much. Cheers Blizzard.

But I think the real test will come as time passes, see how retention is and if they do patches and stuff better.

I am shocked. Then again not really judging by the horrible launch and ludicrous queue times. I told myself "the only way this is justified is if WoW is back at 10mil+ subscribers" and well, look at that.
  1. Mgann-Morzz's Avatar
Yeah well that explains the queues for sure, I don't think they expected that, it honestly is unprecidented.

    WoW IS SO DEAD GUYS.

I believe there may have been more servers back then, but I might be wrong. Wotlk's launch was even worse than WoD though because you waited for queues to play a laggy game, but in WoD it at least didn't lag.
  1. Flower Milk's Avatar
I'm not surprised, WoD was definitely surprisingly worth coming back for. It's very much a step in the right direction and back to the original story, and away from stupid Pandas and stuff.

I find this very hard to believe, congrats to Blizzard if its true though, very nice accomplishment.

I must say that I was a bit spektical of this expansion seeing as how in terms of expansions and the content and how it was offered TBC and WOTLK were far superior and more fun than Cata and MoP. I really wasnt excited at all for this expansion and neither was I for Cata and MoP but WoD is the only one out of the 3 that had me excited once I got in the game. It's just superb. People who canceled subs on a whim cause of a few days ( which we are given back by Blizz anyway along with an apology - u can call it damage control all u want, it's still an apology ) of issues are missing some good ass content. I was also was very indiferent towards Garrisons, but that quickly changed as I think they are very well implemented and I love doing them ( tho atm they dont work ).
  1. Dastreus's Avatar
So is this counting trial accounts? I mean... they DID run ad campaigns for WoD more than they did MoP, and that'd definitely spike trial subscription counts. What I want to see is the numbers for next quarter.
