Update: Added official information. EU emails are starting to go out. There are a few reports of players getting one with small lapses in their subscription.

Gift to Veteran Players: Orc Wolf Rider Mini-Statue
The first people have started receiving their veteran gifts! The statue is an orc riding a wolf; it is a miniature version of the one located outside the Blizzard HQ. Credit to @thebl4ckd0g for the picture of the statue itself and Smitti for the picture of the inscription on the base.



Anniversary Gift

We've been secretly working on creating a one-time gift to celebrate the WoW Anniversary, and it's now on its way to players that have been with us since the beginning. Emails have been sent to North America and Oceanic players to their registered address, which will include shipment tracking info. Our players in Europe will receive a similar email, and their shipments are expected to begin in the next few weeks.

If you're an NA region player (US, Canada, Oceania, Latin America) the receipt of an email is confirmation that you met the criteria to receive an Anniversary celebration gift. Emails have not yet begun to be sent out to our European players, but we'll start sending them soon. Shipment of the gift to EU players will begin in the next few weeks.

Criteria required to receive the gift:
  • Started playing WoW within 60 days of the game launch in your region
  • A continuous subscription for all 10 years, from launch to the Anniversary

We're thankful for everyone that chooses to spend time in Azeroth with us, and hope that this small token of appreciation expresses our gratitude to those few of you that have achieved the incredible milestone of playing World of Warcraft for all these 10 years.

To be eligible for this gift, a player must have created a World of Warcraft account within 60 days of the game launching in the NA or EU regions, and maintained their subscription or game time for all ten years.

Eligible players in the North American region, along with eligible Oceanic players, have been sent tracking information for the gift. Eligible players in Europe will receive tracking information when their gift ships later this month. If the shipping address on that email is incorrect, you will need to contact us with your updated information.

    Subbed from day one, had about 9 months of lapse in my sub from then until now. I guess over 9 years worth of sub time from the very start isn't enough to earn "veteran" status and receive this gift.

    FFS, it's the freaking statue at the entrance of their HQ, they're symbolicaly saying players are an integral part of the company. It was almost nothing to do with the Horde as an ingame faction.

    Ah ok. Are you Canadian or American? And did you have any sub lapses? I had less than a month once, and couple days here and there (when I had to go buy gamecards as a younger male lol.)

    I think your unsubbed time has to be less than a year though. I have a day 1 account but I was unsubbed for a year after MOP came out (played through 1st raid tier then RL came up)- so even though I have the 10th anniversary FOS achievement, this year was only my 9th full year playing, and I didn't get a statue.

    Just got the email 25 minutes ago. My main account had a lapse for 119 days, but was otherwise unbroken from NA launch. But also note that I have another account, which was also created within 60 days of NA launch, but which wasn't funded until 6 or so months later. That account has had no lapses from that point on. I only mention it for completeness -- I doubt the second account would have been eligible for the reward on its own, and I also find it unlikely that Blizzard is checking against multiple WoW accounts tied to a single Battle.net account to determine eligibility, since the logic would get extremely complex.

    My guess is that Blizzard allows at least 120 days of lapses, possibly more (but probably not much more), on a single account created within 60 days of launch. In my case, the lapse was a single block of 119 days.

    Language changes over time, and when the dictionaries have come to disagree with your assessment, then you are incorrect. There are many words that have come to mean things beyond, in addition to, or in lieu of their original meanings. This is one of them.
