Update (8:00 PM EST): According to the official post, all US and EU emails have gone out.
Update: Added official information. EU emails are starting to go out. There are a few reports of players getting one with small lapses in their subscription.

Gift to Veteran Players: Orc Wolf Rider Mini-Statue
The first people have started receiving their veteran gifts! The statue is an orc riding a wolf; it is a miniature version of the one located outside the Blizzard HQ. Credit to @thebl4ckd0g for the picture of the statue itself and Smitti for the picture of the inscription on the base.

Our players in Europe will receive a similar email, and their shipments are expected to begin in the next few weeks.

If you're an NA region player (US, Canada, Oceania, Latin America) the receipt of an email is confirmation that you met the criteria to receive an Anniversary celebration gift. Emails have not yet begun to be sent out to our European players, but we'll start sending them soon. Shipment of the gift to EU players will begin in the next few weeks.

Criteria required to receive the gift:
  • Started playing WoW within 60 days of the game launch in your region
  • A continuous subscription for all 10 years, from launch to the Anniversary

We're thankful for everyone that chooses to spend time in Azeroth with us, and hope that this small token of appreciation expresses our gratitude to those few of you that have achieved the incredible milestone of playing World of Warcraft for all these 10 years.

[Update] All notification emails have been sent to NA and EU region recipients.

These gifts have been sent to the physical address associated with eligible Battle.net accounts. To be eligible for this gift, a player must have created a World of Warcraft account within 60 days of the game launching in the NA or EU regions, and maintained their subscription or game time for all ten years.

Eligible players in the North American region, along with eligible Oceanic players, have been sent tracking information for the gift. Eligible players in Europe will receive tracking information when their gift ships later this month. If the shipping address on that email is incorrect, you will need to contact us with your updated information.

Haven't played for a bit since BC. Just downlaided WOD. And I got my email notification for the statue. Not complaining here. Thanks blizzard.

This thread is actually even more hilarious then the classic tear-stained 'I must do TWO bg's for my welfare legendary cloak' one.

If you don't mind answering, have you been unsubscribed since BC and if so for how long?

shrug if you played since day 1, and unsubbed for divorces, deaths in families, deployments, no money yet still paid blizzard every year month in month out otherwise you would likely be a bit sad. Its a bit different then playing "more" but starting 5 years ago. The concept at this stage with a sub date of 10!! years I may not be "as good" a player as some folks but certainly veteran even if I don't get classified as such by Blizzard 3 blizzcon's and 10 years later

No I cancelled my sub but was playing BC with pre paid cards. I guess that still counted. But I literally stopped playing. No idea how I made the cut.

Point was making broad judgments about a persons entire being from reading a few sentences they posted online displaying minor emotions concerning a largely inconsequential matter is what's really "Shitty"

No wonder they posted this on Friday, so they wouldn't have to deal with the backlash. Monday should be a fun day down at Blizzard.

How is this confusing? If you have had an active subscription concurrently for the entire ten years you qualify. Prepaid cards count as your account being active.

I think you overestimate how big of a deal this is, to us and to Blizzard. A dozen people conplaining on a message board is a drop in the bucket. I would also be surprised if blizzard addresses it at all. Its an issue that will blow over in a week.

good thing it was just some horde related item, i might actually feel left out otherwise. Never really got into horde in my 10 yrs on and off.

Blizzard are really the worst at public relations though... did they not realise what an upset this would cause? What's worse is seeing all these stories of people that started in 2006 or 2007 and still getting the statue - what the hell?

They should make at least make a title for those who have been playing since Vanilla, if they're going to be rewarding people for being around since the 'beginning'. Anybody who has more less 10 years of subs, without any significant break (aka not a whole year or something) should be recognized as a 'veteran' and 'loyal' player imo. If they did that it would certainly help to make the whining over this 'most loyal' statue business go way.

That's exactly what I meant. You have post after post QQing about other people.

I wouldn't give much thought to those posting that they're getting the statue even though they haven't played for years, or they started in 2007 or whatever...they're clearly trolling, as Blizzard isn't that ridiculous.

As for those who haven't unsubscribed for 10 years? Well, they've clearly paid for this statue a few times over. I've taken breaks quite a few times...during some of those periods I kept paying the sub, and during others I cancelled for a few months. It's silly to pay for something you're not playing or enjoying during a certain period of time. I've saved hundreds of dollars during the few breaks I've taken. I don't consider myself any less of a veteran than those who signed up a little while before me. If the people receiving this statue continued to pay over the course of 10 years, whether they were playing or not, well, they've paid for this statue. Sure it's a gift...but it was still paid for.

Thanks for your well reasoned and thought out response to what was me telling the literally truth. I have always mentioned the statue, and it is ironic that they sent me a miniature version of it.

    *shrug*

There are quite a few up there already. One of the first to go up has the highest price with bidding going over $500...then there are a handful of others with the average price for the statue being around $180-$200.

It'll probably continue to hover around that range and then go a bit lower as more show up on Ebay. I think it's funny that their gift for being oh so loyal and with Blizzard from the very start is being sold off. I'm an Alliance player through and through, but this is something you should be happy to display if you've dedicated 10 years straight to the game. So odd to sell it in the first place, let alone for so little. And I get that $200 isn't pennies, but I guess I just don't understand why you'd want to part with such a gift if you've dedicated so much to the game.
