Crithto Leaves Blizzard
We're sorry to see Crithto leave and wish him the best in the future!

Sure enough, Game Master positions were open and I thought, what the heck? It wasn’t long before the Community Team accepted me into their ranks, and it’s made all the difference. Fast-forward to today, and I still cannot believe how my life has changed, how I’ve grown as a professional and a person by being a member of the Blizzard family. From my first BlizzCon in 2008, to the orc statue being installed on campus, from the Crithto NPC being added to the game, to seeing the Warcraft film go from being a dream to a reality, my time here has certainly been extremely meaningful.

What is probably the most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make was to choose to move on to a new opportunity that was recently offered to me. I’ll get to face new challenges and really push my skills as a relationship builder and communicator, but none of this would be possible if it weren’t for my time and experience here at Blizzard. Candidly speaking, the day before I let my managers know I had decided to leave, I cried . . . a lot more than I should probably admit, but I did.

Blizzard’s games, my teammates, co-workers, and everything about being here and a part of this incredible community for these many years have meant so much to me, I can barely give these genuine emotions enough justice through written words. In a recent email to a close friend, I explained that Blizzard has felt like a “home” to me in the truest sense of the word. And the timing sure made my decision all the more difficult, too, given that my last day will be tomorrow (October 8) and I won’t be able to see some of you at BlizzCon as a Blizzard employee (though I do hope to attend).

I can’t thank all of you enough for your love and support, the weird pug pictures you’ve sent me on Twitter, and for your genuine passion for this game and all things Blizzard. I may be stepping down as “Crithto”, but I will always remain a fellow gamer, and I’m sure we’ll cross paths at some point again in the near future. /Respect, /Hug, /Farewell!

Spending Apexis Crystals on gear upgrades can a great way to improve your overall item level. Visit Ravenspeaker Thelnaas in Tanaan Jungle to buy armor for 5,000 Crystals apiece, a weapon for 10,000 Crystals, and Empowered Apexis Fragments for 20,000 Crystals. Empowered Apexis Fragments are Battle.net Account-bound, and they upgrade your Baleful gear from ilvl 650 to ilvl 695.

What are you aiming to purchase with your Apexis windfall?

Yeah "jump ship" from Blizzard. A well thought out retort /heavysarcasm. Have you forgotten there is more to Blizzard than WoW? Blizzard isn't going anywhere.

I am sure a lot of people who we don't know resign/move more often than those we know about.

Cherish WoW while it lasts, games like these are a dying breed. Any game from here on will have in-game purchases, boosts etc. It's all about the money and Blizzard isn't going to stay behind. In fact, we have seen a little bit of that already in WoW. Blizzard once had all their eggs in 1 basket when they were on the brink of bankruptcy. WoW saved their asses and now they've put their eggs in multiple baskets.. WoW isn't so important for them anymore and while they seem to make an effort... it's pretty much in vain. The wacraft category needs something entirely new. But mostly for us, not for them.

Crithto mentioned e-sports and that his job (or maybe physically; little difference either way) is just an hour away from Blizzard. Square-Enix doesn't fit.

Nah, he'll be working his dream: working as a maitre d' at the ice cream buffet restaurant close to Blizzard's HQ. Ever since it opened, Crithto was eye-balling that place for a chance to join it.

people changing the job is normal. sometimes u get bored and want something new. sometimes you just get a better offer. or you need to move away. nothing new. doesn't say anything about the state of blizzard or WoW

It feels more like a ship that's getting close to its final destination and retirement. 11+ years is a very long timespan for an MMO and I'm fairly certain it's gonna stay up, even though with a low player count, for at least once that much, similiar to Ultima Online and other MMOs of past.

I'm sure he was offered a higher position with more pay than Blizzard were willing to match. This happens with every company in the world all the time.

WoW could be far more better. They should call me I give them some amazing ideas for a price of course
When Black Desert reach the west, WoW will be no more the first MMO.
