Black Temple Timewalking

During the Burning Crusade Timewalking week, you can head to Black Temple with a 10-30 player group to take on the bosses that drop item level 900 loot. The difficulty has been set a little bit below Normal difficulty and the raid will require a premade group.

Demon Hunters can get Arsenal: The Warglaives of Azzinoth from the I'll Hold These For You Until You Get Out achievement. This requires you to complete Warglaives of Azzinoth on any character.

Lore

Patch 7.2.5 introduces a new element to an old favorite: for the first time ever, you’ll be able to Timewalk raids. And the first raid you’ll be able to revisit with that old nostalgia shine is Outlands’ Black Temple. So for newer players who never knew, and older players who may have forgotten, here’s a bit of lore behind the Black Temple raid and why you should really come prepared.

The Black Temple wasn’t always black, the same way Outlands wasn’t always Outlands. Before the arrival of demons, humans, and Illidan’s forces, Outland was Draenor, home of the draenei, and the Black Temple was their holiest place of worship: The Temple of Karabor. Led by the Prophet Velen and home to Elder Sage Akama, the Temple of Karabor was located at the epicenter of all the draenei’s magical power, making it a perfect target for the Orcish horde in their war of conquest against their peaceful neighbors.

Amidst the slaughter, Gul’dan and his Shadow Council attempted to turn the tide of battle in their favor by calling upon the power of the Dark Star — a void god that was actually the corrupted naaru K’ara. That power proved too great and too destructive, and the resulting magical backlash instantly killed many of its defenders, tainted others, and sent the rest into hiding or exile on Azeroth. Akama became one of the Broken and Velen became one of the exiles.

Forever tainted by the power of the Dark Star, the Temple of Karabor became the Black Temple, the new citadel for Gul’dan’s horde and the staging point for multiple invasions of Azeroth. After the events of the Second War, and Ner’zhul blasting Draenor apart to create Outlands, the abandoned Black Temple came under the control of the Burning Legion, led by the pit lord Magtheridon.

From his seat in the Black Temple, the demonic lord consolidated power over the remaining orcs and brought in more of the demonic Legion in hopes of starting a new invasion of Azeroth. But before he could, Illidan Stormrage came, and the Black Temple changed hands violently yet again.

Now Illidan rules the Black Temple, a refuge where he licks his wounds after his defeat by The Lich King, and hides his failure from his former lord Kil’jaeden.

The Black Temple is a horrid amalgam of all its many inhabitants. It is corrupted by the dark magic of the naaru that once destroyed it, haunted by the souls of the draenei who died protecting it, and ruled by Illidan who uses it as staging point to wage his war against Outlands.

But among Illidan’s army of the desperate and destructive, there is one who knew the Black Temple as it once was. Akama, leader of the Ashtongue Deathsworn, wishes to return the temple to its former glory as a place of Light and good. Together with Maiev Shadowsong and your help, Akama will betray the Betrayer and see the Black Temple cleansed for good.

So just did the first 4 bosses with a pug and disbanded due to ppl having to go to work. I now find out that I'm locked to that group and can't join any other groups? This seems a little odd considering how large the raid is and how pugging is such a huge part of WoW.

It's like the old days of WoW.

You'll just need to start a new group and that new group will start where you left off, you can't just jump into any other group. If you want to bring the original players in great. The lock exists by itself and the players are tied to *it*

Unfortunately, as you push the lock further, it will lock out other players as well who were in the original group.

Which is shitty but thats how it was back in the day.

and yet we keep seeing: Blizzard keeps fixing what ain't broke. This is one in a ton of limitation old WoW was improved upon but players forget about them when considering how the game improved or not with the years. Good thing the Molten Core anniversary event didn't have a 8 debuff limit on monsters.

Shit like this is why when people say BC was the best, I laugh in their face. Those Rose Tented Glasses though.

Some parts of BC were great, but over all, it was a trash fire of a game compared to how smooth and seamless everything is now.

Most importantly: Can these items actually titanforge to reasonable item levels, or do they "only" get the warforged+15 similar to other timewalking pieces from dungeons?

Also, is there a way to see the item level of those pieces on lower level chars? Maybe some twinks could get great gear from this.
EDIT: Found solution to that point already. WoWhead offers this feature. And nope, items are, sadly, not worth it. It is just the same ilvl as other timewalking gear on lower levels than 110.

In TBC you could not faceroll / pug raids in any difficulty and LFR shit was not a thing, so there was no need for separate lockouts for individuals. Know your shit before spewing shit.

The only people who complain about LFR are the people bad enough at the game for which LFR is still relevant.

Nice strawman but what does it have to do with anything? We were talking about lockouts.

Complaining about LFR is irrelevant since LFR is irrelevant. Mythic raids still carry raid IDs with lockouts just like in BC. Your comment made it sound like back in BC shit was hard but now you can faceroll the raids. You can't. You can only faceroll the irrelevant difficulties.

Used to be 900 ilvl back in 7.2.5, now in 7.3.5 it is 930, they probably scaled the ilvl up to keep it relevant for people that are still gearing alts and shit

You called LFR shit. Is it so surprising that s/he is picking up on that? Don't go calling a whole form of content 'shit' if you aren't prepared to handle backlash from people who actually enjoy that form of content, buddy.
