Lucid Nightmare Mount Discovered
The Secret Finding Discord has discovered how to obtain the Lucid Nightmare mount!

  • This helpful guide has a script to check on your progress: /run local N,t,d={"DAL","ULD","AQ","DEEP","GNOMER","VAL","MAZE","MOUNT"},{47826,47837,47841,47850,47852,47863,47881,47885} for s,k in pairs(N)do d=IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(t[s]) print(k,"=",d and "\124cFF00FF00" or "\124cFFFF0000NOT","DONE")end
  • Head to Dalaran and read the Inconspicuous Note on the table in Curiosities and Moore.
  • Go to Ulduar, kill XT, pull the lever on the pile of scrap in the northwest corner of the room.
  • Toggle on the lights to form a gear pattern. There two different images that may help.
  • Read the note that spawns after all of the lights are toggled.
  • Get to C'thun's room in AQ40 and instead of going in, take the path to the side. Click the Mind Larva to start a Bejeweled minigame. Keep playing until another note spawns.
  • Purchase or craft a Shadoweave Mask
  • Head to Deepholm, enter the cave, find the large rock with a fissure next to it, and drop down inside.
  • Click on the Dingy Plaque on the back of the chair.
  • Equip your Shadoweave Mask mask and click on the skull on the chair to spawn a new note.
  • Head to Gnomeregan to a room with 10 levers. Nightswifty once again has a helpful map. Set the consoles to 1222176597 and read the note that spawns.
  • Head to Val'Sharah (66, 36.5) and click on the Nightmare Tumor to start a minigame. Untangle all of the strands and read the note.
  • Head to the Tomb in Kun-Lai Summit at 53.4 49 and click on the Urn to start the Endless Halls maze.
  • Each room has a certain color torch, which you can interact with to get that color orb. Bring that orb to the same color rune to complete it. This must be done for all five colors.
  • The Lucid Nightmare Helper addon may be helpful for mapping your progress in the maze.
  • After completing all of the runes, read the final note.
  • Head to the entrance to the Karazhan Crypt at 39.85 73.6 in Deadwind Pass. Find the room with the large pile of bones and claim your mount!

The maze and orbs are currently making me want to slit my wrists. This puzzle trek definitely harder than the rest.

Don't bother with it unless you have hours to waste, wasted 2 hours on the damn unmapable maze and wound up getting physically stuck on the altar and had to hearth.... not doing that again til this shit is fixed.

The Endless Halls part was really rough. However it is mappable, you just have to dedicate alot of time to do it. I was able to take the right turns that I had down on a spreadsheet and be able to make my way back to the runes that I had the orbs for.

It was no where near fun at all, but very time consuming

Does anyone know if after matching 3 orbs in the maze, logging off or hearthing resets progress? Or will i be ok?
I had to leave it cuz i had to go to work....

Yea, the maze seems to not only loop, but have multiple levels. Personally I just gave up trying to map it at some point and went yolo.

If you ever played legend of zelda, the map is kinda like that. There was a boss where you had to go through the maze, which kept leading you in circles. I thought of the area like that Zelda game. if 2 corridors are blocked off on the east and west, you are moving through the rings of the circle to get to a new inner or outer circle.

Once you realize this, the maze becomes trivial imo.

Basically, I started the maze at the same time a guildie did. I had to leave for a while to go have dinner with the family. I came back, logged in, finished the maze and my guildie was still on it!

So you got extremely good RNG and somehow think it's a strat?

I can't tell you about hearthing, but my game crashed while I was working on my 4th orb. Fortunately, when I logged back in, my character still had the blue orb debuff and I was able to continue where I left off.

Just obtained mine and it's definitely one of the best looking mounts in-game, and has some really nice animations (idle and /mountspecial).

As for the maze I pretty much ran around aimlessly (being a Druid with cat form, dash and displacer beast really helped speed it up).

I logged out a few times while doing it and I was able to continue where I left off.

I can confirm it does save progress. What I'm not sure about though is hearthing if you have an orb debuff on you.

The maze was 100% mappable for me. There were some inconsistencies, but I followed along where I knew it worked and took me 15 mins.

Took me a little under 4 hours with mapping because of random teleports. I have a really hard time believing it took you 15 minutes just due to how it mechanically works.

Also it took celestalon almost 3 hours.

Was mine. I wasted about 20 mins just running in circles because I was being bored. But also, druid, so cat form did make it a bit faster. I had 0 "random teleports".

EDIT: Now looking at someone else's map in the other thread about this. Holy crap, was I lucky.

What I mean by random teleports is that I went through a doorway and when I came out on the other side I had rocks behind me meaning it didn't just bring me to the next room it placed me into another random room, or loops that brought to unexpected parts of the map.

I'm not saying you're lying, I'm just saying you got absurdly lucky.

As an example this is Celestalons map, you can see many loops in his.

Ahh, okay. I see what you mean. I had 1 of those just to the east of blue orb if I went north. I intentionally avoided it because of that problem.

How do I make the levers in Gnomergan go to 0? They don't go below 1 when I push them down and don't go above 9 when I push them up.
