Hallow's End World Event Guide
This year, Hallow's End will run from October 18th through November 1st. This event celebrates the break of the Forsaken from the Scourge. Innkeepers across Azeroth will give out candy, or tricks to whomever asks.

Changes in 2021
  • Headless Horseman rings are now 184 item level.
  • Loot-Filled Pumpkin can now be obtained only by characters level 50-60.
  • Venthyr players participating in the Ember Court will have their guests scared by a Vision of Sire Denathrius, resulting in bonus Happiness. The vision can be disabled by speaking with Theotar or the vision itself during the Ember Court.

The Headless Horseman
You can queue through the dungeon finder to kill The Headless Horseman, who drops a Loot-Filled Pumpkin on the first kill of the day. It can contain:

Garrison Decorations
Hallow’s End decorations for your garrison can be purchased from Izzy Hollyfizzle. Each decoration costs 5 x Spooky Supplies, which can be acquired through the following daily quests:

Quests and Dailies
The main Hallow’s End quest is started by Spoops (Horde) or Jesper (Alliance). After picking up Hallow’s End Treats for Jesper You will need to go your faction's major city and perform a specific emote to receive the candy to complete the quest:

  • Orgrimmar/Stormwind - Flex
  • Troll/Gnome - Train
  • Undercity/Ironforge - Chicken
  • Thunder Bluff/Darnassus - Dance

Under the Crooked Tree
Under the Crooked Tree is a daily quest near Bradensbrook in Val'sharah that will reward you with Hag's Belongings. This has a chance to contain new witch hat transmogs Hat of the First Sister, Hat of the Second Sister, Hat of the Third Sister, and Hat of the Youngest Sister.

Creepy Crate Quest
Acquiring the Creepy Crate requires players to do a lengthy questline. This can be picked up at Candace Fenlow (Horde) or Gretchen Fenlow (Alliance)

Daily quests are a good source of Tricky Treats!

Shade of the Horseman
The main settlements outside of capital cities will be under attack by the Shade of the Horseman. This event provides the opportunity to complete the Masked Orphan Matron and Fire Training (Horde) or Costumed Orphan Matron and Fire Brigade Practice (Alliance) quests, which will reward you with a Crudely Wrapped Gift.

Wickerman Event - Experience and Reputation Buff
Every four hours the Wickerman Event happens outside of Undercity and Stormwind. Witnessing this event will grant you with a Decree of the Dark Lady (Horde) or Greymane's Resolve (Alliance).

If you are still leveling or farming reputation, using the ashes from the Wickerman will grant you a Grim Visage (Horde) or Unburdened (Alliance) buff, increasing your experience and reputation gained by 10% for 2 hours.

Trick or Treat!
Every inn has a Candy Bucket available for players during this event. Interacting with it will give you a Handful of Treats, which contains 1-3 Tricky Treats and a chance at some other miscellaneous items.

The Handy Notes addon with the HandyNotes_HallowsEnd addon will mark the location of all the available Candy Buckets on your map, making it much easier to navigate when collecting candy.

Hallow’s End rewards can be collected from various vendors:



Disguises cost 200 Tricky Treats each, sold by Woim (Horde) or Pippi (Alliance)

Wands cost 2 Tricky Treats each

There are masks for all the playable races, except Pandaren. In addition, players can purchase these masks:




The Hallowed Be Thy Name meta achievement requires all of the following:

  • Trick or Treat! - Receive a handful of treats from one of the Candy Buckets located in an inn.
  • Out With It - Eat so many Tricky Treats that you get an upset tummy.
  • Bring Me The Head of… Oh Wait - Kill the Headless Horseman.
  • The Savior of Hallow’s End - Complete one of the quests to save a village from the Headless Horseman.
  • That Sparkling Smile - Show off your sparkling smile by using a Tooth Pick.
  • Rotten Hallow - Ruin Hallow's End for the Alliance and foil their attempts to wreck the Horde celebration by completing the following quests.
  • G.N.E.R.D. Rage - Earn 10 honorable kills while under the influence of the G.N.E.R.D. buff. It's a slap in the face!
  • Check Your Head - Use Weighted Jack-o'-Lanterns to put pumpkin heads on each of the races listed below.
  • The Masquerade - Get transformed by the Hallowed Wands listed below.
  • Sinister Calling - Obtain a Sinister Squashling pet and Hallowed Helm through looting or Tricky Treats from the Hallow's end world events.
  • Tricks and Treats of Azeroth - Complete the Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms and Outland Tricks and Treats achievements.
