What Happened in Hearthstone? Taking a Look Back at November 13 - 19

Pilgrim's Bounty
Pilgrim’s Bounty is coming up from November 20 to November 27 and with it comes a time to reflect upon one’s good fortune and share feasts with everyone around you!

New in 2017
With the introduction of the Appearance tab in 7.0, the non-transmoggable Pilgrim set can be saved and transmogged during the duration of the holiday.

The Spirit of Sharing
The main area where the festivities take place is right outside the capital cities for the Horde and Alliance and in a couple of smaller towns.

  • Players can interact with the many foods options set on these tables and will gain a buff by eating or passing each of the servings.
  • There are 5 buffs in total that you can gain that when combined together will reward the The Spirit of Sharing buff that grants 10% increase in reputation gains for one hour. This is great if you are working on Legion reputations and completing World Quests or working on other reputations for a little boost.

Cooking
Pilgrim’s Bounty is centered around cooking and there are 5 recipes to add to your cooking collection. All you need to do is buy the Bountiful Cookbook from Bountiful Barrel located at each capital city table to learn them. The recipes are used for several quests, dailies, and the Now We’re Cookin’ achievement related to the holiday.

Cosmetic Items
5 daily quests can be found around the bountiful tables at capital cities that award a piece of a non-transmoggable Pilgrim’s set or a Pilgrim's Bounty cache.

Non-Transmoggable Set

Pilgrim’s Bounty Cache

Achievements
There are 9 achievements for the Pilgrim’s Bounty holiday, 7 required for the meta achievement Pilgrim that will award you with the title the Pilgrim along with the Plump Turkey battle pet and 2 that are separate.

Do note that Pilgrim is not required to complete the What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been meta achievement for the Violet Proto-Drake.

Pilgrim Achievements

Off-Meta Achievements
  • Pilgrim’s Progress - Complete each of the Pilgrim’s Bounty dailies.
  • Pilgrim’s Peril - While wearing either a Pilgrm’s Dress, Robe, or Attire, take a seat at each enemy capital’s Bountiful Table.

Blizzard Gear Sale
The Blizzard Gear store will have some flash sales during the upcoming week!

By today's forum standards, obviously 100% nonviable and useless, so it does sort of depend on what you're asking.
I remember a video of a bear (Hugehoss) tanking Garr + all of his adds. Was quite the inspiration! (Celestalon)
partially gear dependent - some of which you couldn't acquire until BWL either
Bears in Vanilla were hiiiighly gear-dependent, and in odd ways. Scaled extreeeemely well with Bonus Armor, which was super rare. (Celestalon)
So the best gearset commonly included a lvl 43 world drop epic, shoulders from Sunken Temple, rings from a Tanaris quest and MC drop, etc. (Celestalon)

with the new raid opening on Nov.28th should we expect the difficulty of mythic + to increase or remain the same?
Consistent with NH/ToS opening, you'll see the reward ceiling go up to M15 when Mythic Antorus opens. Dungeon difficulty won't change.(WatcherDev)

Build of the Month - November 2017
Each month or so we will post a couple of hardware setups for those of you who are thinking of upgrading their computer!

All of the parts on this page are Amazon affiliate links. When you purchase your parts through them it helps support the site!

This month
New CPUs from Intel have been released but are proving challenging to actually find in stock. They will require a new motherboard as well. We will update our build list with the 8600K and other Coffee Lake CPUs when stock improves. If you can find an 8600K in stock, be sure to use a Z370 motherboard, as older motherboards are not compatible even though they have the same pin count.

The current SSD prices are fairly flat right now, with most SSDs under $0.50 per gigabyte when on sale.

Depending on how much you want to overclock, you may need to spend a bit more for a better CPU cooler like the NH-D15.

Unless you are doing a lot of video rendering or streaming, you do not need the 7700K and would get more performance from spending that money elsewhere.

Make sure to keep your AMD and Nvidia drivers up to date.

Does that mean that if you just do 1 lvl10 mythic+ per week you get a mythic15 loot in your next weekly chest ?

No. That is when a new major patch comes out.

Funny how those setups are still highly "Intel" CPUs with Ryzen being a splendid alternative.

Not funny at all when you keep in mind that the "recommendations" are merely the affiliate links that pay the most. I think they would recommend a pile of dog crap over Intel CPUs if it resulted in .001% more cash.

Welcome to the 21st century internet. Enjoy your stay.

While i do agree on the lower end that AMD is better than the Intel counter part I'm not sure if AMD holds well in the higher end of things. Ryzen seems to go with just cores while Intel is still ipc per clock king.

The 8600K has been in and out of stock (most out) since release. I've noted this, but until you can actually buy them I'm probably not going to include them in the list. Looking right now, Newegg, B&H, and Amazon are OOS.

Ryzen is nice, but not that competitive for games that require a high IPC (such as WoW).

Funny because Ryzen actually has higher ipc vs Kaby Lake.

@chaud another funny thing is how 8600 is impossible to find yet it will be listed as suggested where RX 470/480/570/580 are not impossible to find and already on reasonable prices and are on the market for over an year now and not in your suggested lists

You are not doing a favor to the MMO-Champion community by completely ignoring half of the market in your suggestions.

Irrelevant. You leave the 7th on the shelf, period.

Yet another benchmark shows Ryzen as being slower: http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages...review,26.html

The AMD GPUs are not as great for WoW and are mostly equal to the Nvidia counterparts.

Even if Intel, AMD, and Nvidia had all perfectly equal offerings, I'm only going to list one CPU and GPU most of the time, so you won't get both and someone is going to be unhappy here.
  1. Pyrophobia's Avatar
There are 2 competitors that provide similar hardware in the same price brackets. It's not hard to list 1 of each for each build. Not listing entire line of 1 competitor is hardly justified by less than 5% difference in ipc performance when the price difference is usually more than compensating the difference.

It really sounds like a silly excuse to keep AMD out.
Really... I can't find another angle...

If you go back and look, I included AMD CPUs for years and AMD GPUs for years (when they had a huge price/performance advantage). Right now Intel and Nvidia are generally the better buy. I don't really care much about one company vs the other beyond hoping AMD does well so they can keep creating competition like they are with Ryzen.

RX 580 8gb beats 1060 - 6gb in almost every game there is out there. The only drawback is slightly higher power draw.
Currently in Europe you can even find RX 580 cards cheaper than the 1060's and more, if you compare the rx 570 4GB vs 1060 3Gb the performance difference is higher for similar price bracket.

Not including AMD has to have a reason and every time the build of the month is posted people are questioning your decision to exclude AMD for a reason. You are yet to give a valid one.

The RX 580 is more expensive (in the US), uses more power, and I wouldn't say it beats it in every game. Certainly not WoW. The same extends to the lower memory versions. I'll consider listing multiple options, but it makes the list longer and more confusing for beginners.
