The Coven of Shivarra is a boss in the Antorus, the Burning Throne raid in World of Warcraft. Our strategy guide will help you to defeat the The Coven of Shivarra encounter and the loot listing below contains all of the loot he drops on each difficulty.

Overview

The Coven of Shivarra is the Council style encounter of the raid. You will be fighting two bosses at a time, while the third inactive boss rotates periodically.

Heroic Changes

• Fulminating Pulse will mark a few targets with a debuff that deals damage to everyone within 6 yards upon expiration.
• Storm of Darkness will cover most of the encounter area with a cloud that does periodic damage.
• Orb of Frost will summon an orb that deals periodic damage and slows the movement speed of players affected by it.
• Heroic specific mechanics and abilities will be marked with throughout the guide.

Strategy and Positioning

• Two bosses will be active at any given time, while the third casts Torment of the Titans.
• The two active bosses should be tanked as close as possible, without triggering Shivan Pact. The ideal distance is 18 yards apart.
• The strategy changes depending on which bosses are active, so instead of a general strategy we will describe how to deal with each active boss.

Noura, Mother of Flames:

• Tanks should face her away from the raid, and non-tank players should never stand in front of her.
• Avoid standing in the impact spot or Whirling Saber, then avoid standing between the spinning blade and the boss while it travels back to Noura.
• Players affected by Fulminating Pulse should move at least 6 yards away from other players.

Asara, Mother of Night:

• Shadow Blades will knockback and damage anyone hit,so make sure to avoid getting hit by them.
• During Storm of Darkness safe zones will appear in the encounter area. Quickly move into them to avoid taking periodic damage.

Diima, Mother of Gloom:

• Players affected by Chilled Blood should be quickly healed to avoid being stunned.
• Orb of Frost will slow any players affected by it, however the slow strength decays with distance.

Torment the Titans:

• Each successful cast of Torment the Titans will spawn adds based on which Titan it was cast on.
• Torment of Aman’Thul: The raid should quickly kill them before they complete their casts. Prioritize killing a few targets quickly then finishing the rest, rather than killing all of them at once.
• Torment of Golganneth: The raid should be spread at least 2 yards apart from each other while the adds are being killed.
• Torment of Khaz’goroth: Move towards the sides of the room to avoid the overlapping Flames of Khaz’goroth damage. Stand within the safe zones while finishing off the adds.
• Torment of Norgannon: A wall of adds will spawn on each edge of the room. These adds can be slowed and crowd controlled. For the first 30 seconds gaps in the wall should be created using abilities such as Paralysis, or Freezing Trap, and everyone should avoid running into them. After their immunity buff expires they can be quickly killed.

All Roles

• Use personal damage reduction cooldowns during ability overlaps such as Storm of Darkness and Fulminating Pulse.
• No part of the encounter requires the raid to be stacked, making the ideal positioning being loosely spread.

DPS

• Prioritize killing the Torment adds over the bosses.
• Melee dps should be careful when damaging Noura and Asara, due to their Whirling Saber and Shadow Blades abilities.
• The Torment of Norgannon adds cannot be damaged for the first 30 seconds.

Healers

• Players affected by Chilled Blood should be spot healed to remove the debuff.
• Random bursts of damage will happen when Asara is active because of her Touch of Darkness ability.
• Tanks will take increasing damage when fighting Noura.

Tanks

• The bosses should be tanked 18 yards apart to avoid the damage reduction buff from being applied.
• Tanks should taunt swap around 2 stacks of Fiery Strike, however more can be survived with overlapping damage reduction cooldowns.
• Tanks should taunt swap when Flashfreeze stacks reach about 3 to avoid being slowed too much.

The Coven of Shivarra drops item level 915 (LFR), 930 (Normal), 945 (Heroic), 960 (Mythic) loot. Loot can have higher item levels if it becomes Titanforged or Warforged.
